Mordo serves as Kamar-Taj’s senior disciple and one of its principal administrators. When official sorcerers are called to New York, he assigns Berkeley to temporarily guide the apprentices, despite doubting Berkeley’s spellcasting ability, because Wong must continue guarding the library 1.

During the Chitauri crisis, Mordo reports that weaker Kamar-Taj sorcerers have succumbed to a citywide aura of fear. After sensing the unknown power himself, he immediately suspects Dormammu, reflecting his longstanding vigilance toward Kamar-Taj’s enemies 24.

His opposition weakens after Zhang Yang’s combat assessment. Mordo witnesses Zhang Yang replicate and combine dozens of martial arts after learning Military Boxing, then learns that Wong had been losing their duel despite its apparent conclusion 34 36.

Artifact Humiliations

Mordo’s attempts to instruct or test Zhang Yang repeatedly turn against him. When Zhang Yang retrieves Gungnir and the Tesseract, Mordo realizes that his sealed scepter cannot compete and reluctantly asks Zhang Yang not to take their spar seriously 40.
