[On the screen, Li Qingyang stood frozen. It took him a long time to recover, disbelief written all over his face. "Dad had such a grand ambition? How is that possible?"
Tang San answered calmly, "Everything about Brother Xun's past is highly classified. You won't find a word of it in an ordinary library. I'm telling you because you've grown up and will soon undergo Spirit Awakening. You deserve to know these secrets. I'm also warning you never to bring him up in public. This peace was hard-won. If someone targeted you to send your father into a rage again, I'm afraid even I couldn't stop him."
Li Qingyang nodded thoughtfully, taking the warning to heart.
"All right, I understand. But Dad, that was low of you! How could you hit Mom?" Li Qingyang suddenly pointed at Li Xun and shouted.
"Ahem..."
Li Xun coughed twice and shook his head helplessly at his son.
"Qingyang, you're still young. You can't understand how much that ambition means to me."
He had no wish to defend his past at length, so he simply concluded,
"Anyway, remember what I've told you. Watch what you say at the Spirit Awakening ceremony tomorrow."
"Mm, I will."
Li Qingyang rose. His eyes darted aside as another idea took shape.
"I'll go see Aunt Yingxue, though. She can tell me more about your past, Dad."]
[What's going on? The Asura God's past was sealed away in the future?]
[Who'd dare suppress information about the Asura God?]
[Let me take a wild guess: it was definitely the Angel God, Qian Renxue.]
[Actually, I think Asura God Li Xun chose to do it himself.]
"Dad, Mom, the Heavenly Screen said I'll have a little sister someday. From what it showed, that'll probably happen in the next year or two."
A mischievous grin tugged at Li Xun's lips. He looked from one parent to the other and teased,
"You two have still got it."
His blunt remark made Shui Yuerou's cheeks burn. She twisted around and hurriedly buried her face in her husband Li Hu's arms, too embarrassed to look up.
Even Li Hu's dark, weathered face flushed faintly. Embarrassed and annoyed, he put on a stern expression and barked,
"You brat, what nonsense are you spouting? What, don't you want a little sister?"
"Of course I do! Mom, Dad, hurry up and give me little Yingxue!"
Li Xun sat up straight, putting on a solemn face that did nothing to hide his teasing.
Li Hu frowned at him in open disgust and grunted, "Get lost."
"You got it!"
Li Xun sprang to his feet with a cheeky grin.
The Crown Prince's Estate, Heaven Dou City.
Watching the scene on the Heavenly Screen, Qian Renxue murmured with curiosity, "It seems I'll have a sister-in-law someday. I wonder if we'll get along."
Behind her, Snake Lance Douluo watched his young mistress in helpless silence.
What had happened to the brilliant, aloof, calculating young mistress he knew? Now she was worrying about whether she would get along with her future sister-in-law.
He sighed inwardly but kept his hands at his sides. He would never dare tease her aloud.
[Li Qingyang left home and headed out. There were no towering buildings in this neighborhood, only detached villas scattered through quiet, elegant grounds.
He got into the family's civilian soul-guided car and told the driver to take him to a sprawling manor.
The car came to a smooth stop. Li Qingyang stepped out and looked up at the imposing gate. Four characters were engraved on its plaque: Li Manor.
Beyond the gate lay a vast courtyard. Carefully trimmed flowers and trees took the shapes of lifelike animals. At its center sat an artificial pond more than ten meters across. A small fountain bubbled in the middle, sending water splashing upward and delicate ripples across the surface.
Li Qingyang crossed the courtyard and went straight to the main house. "Aunt Yingxue, I'm here to see you!" he called.
The words had barely left his mouth.
Thump!
A fist rapped him on the head, neither too hard nor too gently.
"Didn't I tell you to call me big sister from now on?"
A clear voice rang out as a girl appeared. She looked about sixteen or seventeen, slender and graceful in a flowing, pale-blue dress.
She had a small, straight nose, softly colored lips, and an oval face. She lacked the allure of a grown woman, but her youthful beauty was bright and lively.
There was a breezy boldness in everything she did. As she rapped Li Qingyang on the head, her brows lifted and a teasing smile touched her lips. She had none of a senior relative's stiffness.
"You're my dad's sister. Why should I call you big sister?" Li Qingyang grumbled, rubbing his head.
"Enough arguing."
Li Yingxue sat down at the table and poured two cups of tea. She pushed one toward Li Qingyang and regarded him evenly. "Well? What did you come all this way to ask me?"
Li Qingyang's expression grew conflicted as he recounted what had just happened. "After seeing the scenes Master projected with his divine power, I realized I don't know Dad at all. So I came to ask you what he's really like."
Li Yingxue's expression softened. A hint of nostalgia entered her eyes.
"My brother is hard to sum up in a few words. He's complicated. Why don't you tell me what you felt after seeing his past?"
"What I felt?" Li Qingyang lowered his head and thought for a moment before answering earnestly. "Mostly that I never knew Dad was such a great man."
"Pfft—!"
Li Yingxue sprayed out her tea. Caught between laughter and disbelief, she hurriedly wiped her mouth.
"So you've always thought my brother was nothing special?" She leaned forward with an amused glint in her eyes. "Come on, tell your big sister what your father is like to you."
Li Qingyang frowned slightly and thought back over the years before answering honestly:
"To me, he's a scientist. He plays music sometimes, but he spends most of his time at home and hardly ever goes out. He's a total homebody."]
