At the ancient residence.
Tang Yuehua smiled as she stroked Li Xun's head. "Xun, the technology you develop in the future is wonderful! It even lets ordinary people travel a thousand miles in a day."
"Aunt Yuehua, could you stop touching my head?" Li Xun pulled away from her hand, looking helpless. Then, at her praise, he said proudly,
"Of course it is. I'm just that amazing."
"Give him one compliment and it goes straight to his head," Xiao Wu muttered, unable to stand his smug expression.
Li Xun heard her. He raised an eyebrow. "What was that, Xiao Wu? If you have a problem, come fight me."
"Fine! Who's afraid of you?" Xiao Wu dropped into a fighting stance.
Seeing the two of them about to start, Tang San hurried between them and held out his hands to keep them apart. "Enough. Stop fooling around. There's a new scene on the Heavenly Screen."
[The group had barely opened the car doors and stepped out when a wave of chatter washed over them.
Just then, three people climbed out of a Mercedes across from them: Tang San, Xiao Wu, and the little girl at their side, Tang Wutong.
Six-year-old Tang Wutong was utterly adorable. Her soft, lustrous ice-blue hair fell loosely over her shoulders, with a few wisps framing her fair little face. Her large, bright eyes were clear as water and seemed to hold starlight beneath her fluttering lashes.
Her cheeks were plump and faintly pink. In her delicate little dress, she looked like a doll carved from jade.
She held one of Xiao Wu's fingers as she looked around curiously, her little head turning toward the crowd packed outside the school gates. Before long, she spotted Li Xun's family getting out of their car.
"Mom, Dad, it's Qingyang and his family! Let's go say hello."
Tang Wutong recognized Li Qingyang's family at a glance. She tugged eagerly at Xiao Wu's wrist and hurried toward them, pulling her mother along.
Tang San locked the car door behind him and followed the mother and daughter at an unhurried pace.
Tang Wutong trotted up to them, her clear eyes sparkling. She bent politely at the waist and greeted them in a sweet little voice.
"Hello, Uncle Li Xun! Hello, Aunt Qian Renxue! Hello, Qingyang! Hello, Mu Shuang!"
Her bright, sweet voice was a delight to hear, and her good manners made her even more endearing.
Qian Renxue's eyes softened at the sight of the little girl. Smiling, she bent down and gently ruffled Wutong's fluffy blue hair. "You're such a good girl, Wutong. You get prettier every time I see you."
After that brief, affectionate exchange, she looked toward Xiao Wu. The two women, so different in temperament, smiled at each other and naturally walked aside to chat quietly.
Meanwhile, Li Xun raised a hand in greeting as Tang San approached. "Tang San, Uncle Hao and Aunt Yin didn't come?"
Tang San nodded. "Mom and Dad didn't want to join the crowd. They said the Television Station is broadcasting it live, so they can see everything more clearly and relax at home."
Li Xun smiled in understanding, then turned to Qian Renxue beside him.
"Xiao Xue, give our son his documents."
Qian Renxue promptly took the Soul Power test registration form and identification documents she had prepared from her storage pouch. She straightened them carefully before handing them to her son. Xiao Wu likewise gave Tang Wutong her documents.
Li Xun reminded him, "Take your documents and go in with Wutong. Line up properly, follow the school rules, and get ready for your Spirit Awakening. Your mom and I will be watching from upstairs. You've got this."
"Don't worry, Dad!" Li Qingyang nodded firmly, mature beyond his years.
Li Xun then turned to Tang San. "Let's not squeeze in there with them. The school gates are packed. We can go straight to the private VIP box and watch the children's awakening ceremony on the live broadcast."
Tang San readily agreed.
And so Li Qingyang took the well-behaved Tang Wutong's hand. The two small figures turned and entered Spirit Hall Elementary School side by side with the orderly crowd, ready for their moment of Spirit Awakening.
Li Xun and the other four headed instead to the VIP box the school had prepared for them.
The school did not actually have a VIP section. But with the Pope coming to watch this year's Spirit Awakening, it had no choice but to arrange one at the last minute.]
[I've been watching for ages, but the Heavenly Screen doesn't seem to have revealed anything shocking this time.]
[What do you mean? Didn't you see how pretty the Sea God's little daughter is?]
[Hey, stop right there. Don't say anything reckless!]
[Good thing the comments are anonymous. If Sea God Tang San saw that, you'd be in trouble.]
[Back to the point, everyone. The Heavenly Screen mentioned the Television Station. You can watch the entire Spirit Awakening from home. Does that mean ordinary people in the future can learn about everything happening across the world without ever leaving their houses?]
[You caught that fast! I noticed it too. That technology is unbelievable.]
[Agreed!]
[Plus one!]
At the Heaven Dou Ancient Residence.
Tang San and Xiao Wu had been gazing intently at their future daughter on the Heavenly Screen when their eyes happened to catch the comments racing past.
When they saw several messages making light of Tang Wutong, who was still only a child, their faces darkened.
Xiao Wu's brows shot up, anger clouding her pretty face. Her fists clenched instinctively, and a faint ripple of Soul Power spread around her. Her earlier delight vanished, leaving her fury plain to see.
"Those people have gone too far! Wutong is just a child. How can they talk about her like that?"
The air around Tang San turned cold, anger churning in his eyes.
Li Xun had changed Tang San's temperament considerably, but he still could not suppress his anger at people joking about his future daughter. His brows drew tight as he stared at the comments streaming across the Heavenly Screen.
"If only the comments weren't anonymous. I can't find whoever posted them. Otherwise, I would make them understand what it means to court death."
Li Xun, standing nearby, looked displeased too.
"Even if they meant it as a joke, making a child the butt of it goes too far."
At the Heaven Dou Crown Prince's Residence.
Qian Renxue had also seen the comments about Tang Wutong. Her brows knitted, and anger flared in her chest.
For a moment, she even considered ordering Pufferfish and Snake Lance to punish the people behind those reckless remarks. But the comments were anonymous, and there was no way to identify who had posted them. She had nowhere to direct her anger.
Still, despite her annoyance, the first sight of Tang Wutong's blue hair and adorable face on the Heavenly Screen had sparked another thought.
The girl was clever, well-mannered, and beautiful. She would make a fine wife for Qian Renxue's son, Li Qingyang.
True, she and Li Xun had not reached that point yet, and none of that future had come to pass. But that did not stop her from considering a daughter-in-law for her future family.
Qian Renxue sat in the hall, outwardly maintaining the composure expected of a young master. Inwardly, she quietly committed the matter to memory.
