Background and History

The Fifth Elder saved Zhu Min’s life and brought her into the Spirit Sword Sect. For years, she spent little time there, instead entering Secret Realms and taking dangerous Mortal World jobs to sharpen her swordsmanship. Her earnings supported her disabled younger brother, Zhu Liang, and children she had taken in. Because she seldom discussed her life, even fellow disciples knew little about her 69 71 113 115.

Ran Zirou and a Tongjia prince arranged an attack on Zhu Liang so Ran could stage his rescue and gain Zhu Min’s trust. Li Zi and her senior brothers rescued him first. Zhu Min later left Li Zi, Bao Yuanwu, and Yu Lin gifts in thanks 69 71 77.

Before the Fangxun Mountain expedition, Zhu Min learned that Tongjia’s little princess had secretly controlled her paid assignments for three years. The princess sought ingredients for a technique to steal Zhu Min’s Immortal Bone, while Zhu Teng—a young man Zhu Min had rescued and trusted—helped poison her in hopes of obtaining her Essence Blood. The Second Elder confirmed a slow-acting Witchcraft Poison after Li Zi gave Zhu Min a medicinal pill. Her sectmates’ response made Zhu Min feel, for the first time, that she belonged among them. Zhu Min subsequently accompanied Li Zi and Ji Zheng toward the Wasteland. Years later, after seclusion and further training, she accepted Li Zi’s guidance to an ancient battlefield beneath Azure Void River, seeking the insight needed to complete her Sword Heart 167 265 269 270.

Zhu Min has a thin build and a pale face. She wears a loose sect robe and carries an enormous sword on her back, yet moves lightly under its weight 112 113.

Personality

Zhu Min is reserved, blunt, and relentless about preparation. She pushes Li Zi into difficult fights because she believes practice gives her a better chance of surviving the Wasteland. Li Zi finds the constant supervision stifling, but Zhu Min also shields her from threats 117 124 134 145 178.

Her severity coexists with compassion. She supports vulnerable children, helps Sang Xinghui defend himself without forcing him onto a particular cultivation path, and later befriends intelligent Spirit Beasts. Those friendships may have weakened the killing intent needed to complete her Sword Heart 69 135 138 269.
