"It was just too touching, waaaah~"

When Shen Xingyan came to confront Ye Qingyao about the Spring Blossoms and Autumn Moon Talisman, she was smelling a Spirit Flower, her face rapt with delight. Her eyes shimmered with color, and she looked radiantly beautiful.

But when she noticed Shen Xingyan storming toward her, reeking of urine, she startled and took several steps back.

Before Shen Xingyan could even demand an explanation, his heart shattered into pieces. "A-Yao, I offered you my sincere heart, but you treated it like worthless grass. You gave the Spring Blossoms and Autumn Moon Talisman I gave you to your junior sister as a pee pad, and now you can't get away from me fast enough."

"Do you really find me that repulsive?"

Tears were about to fill his puppy-dog eyes. Shen Xingyan was genuinely hurt.

All his life, women had chased after him, fawned over him, and gazed up at him as though he were a star in the sky. Only Ye Qingyao paid him no mind. Woman, how could you treat me like this? His desire to win her over burned even stronger.

"It wasn't... I... it was an accident..." Ye Qingyao stumbled over her words. Never quick with an explanation, she had no idea how to account for the talisman, much less how to tell him, without wounding his pride, that he smelled overwhelmingly of urine.

"You reek of urine. Stay away from my senior sister." Ye Qingchuan stepped in front of Ye Qingyao. "My senior sister didn't like that lousy talisman you gave her. So what if she gave it to our junior sister?"

"Kid, you can't say that. That Spring Blossoms and Autumn Moon Talisman cost me a full hundred Superior Spirit Stones. It isn't some ordinary talisman you can buy in bulk for ten Spirit Stones."

Before Ye Qingchuan could reply, Ye Qingyao stepped forward with determination, promptly took out a hundred Superior Spirit Stones, and shoved them into Shen Xingyan's arms. "It's only a hundred Superior Spirit Stones. Here, take them back."

[Now that Senior Sister has money, she can really stand up for herself!] Ye Zhenzhen raised her little hands and clapped for her.

Ye Qingchuan stepped forward to deliver another blow. "We've returned your talisman, too. You haven't lost a thing—in fact, you've made a profit. Please conduct yourself accordingly and stop pestering my senior sister."

"My senior sister is precious. She isn't someone you can win over with a hundred Spirit Stones."

After they returned to the Cloudsky Sect, everything seemed to have gone back to normal, yet nothing felt quite the same.

Everyone realized that Ye Zhenzhen truly was the sect's little lucky star, bringing them good fortune and wealth. They all began to cherish her like a treasure.

When they heard their junior sister wanted to raise Sea Fish into Spirit Fish, her senior brothers and sister volunteered to help. The eldest senior brother took charge of channeling water from the Spirit Spring, the second senior sister carefully cultivated more Spirit Herbs, and the third senior brother looked after the little dumpling's every need.

The Sea Fish were turning into Spirit Fish very slowly, and cultivating Ye Qingyao's Spirit Herbs took a great deal of time as well.

Watching tiny shoots emerge from the seeds of the flowers and grasses, Ye Zhenzhen suddenly had an idea. Her senior sister had originally been a Spirit Herb growing beside the Seven-Colored Heaven-Mending Stone and had transformed into a human after absorbing its spiritual energy. What did that prove? That the spiritual energy around the Seven-Colored Heaven-Mending Stone was incredibly rich.

If they planted the Spirit Plants near the Seven-Colored Heaven-Mending Stone and raised the Sea Fish there too, wouldn't they mature quickly by absorbing that rich spiritual energy every day?

Xiao Ba raised all eight tentacles in agreement.

That left one question: how were they going to deal with the Taowu guarding the Seven-Colored Heaven-Mending Stone?

Xiao Ba volunteered, stretching out a tentacle: I'll do it.

The Taowu's furry face went slack with shock when it saw Xiao Ba's eight tentacles. What strange new creature was this? But whether it flew through the sky or swam through water, nothing could escape its claws! With an earth-shaking roar, it lunged ferociously at Xiao Ba.

Before it could get close, Xiao Ba's tentacles swept in from every direction and wrapped around it. Its mountain-sized body could not budge; even its eighteen-foot tail was bound tight, unable to unleash any of its power.

How could this be?

The Taowu struggled like a trapped beast, only to be bound tighter and tighter. Furious, it bared its boar-like tusks and bit through one of Xiao Ba's tentacles. Delighted, it assumed its opponent's body was pathetically weak and would soon be its meal.

To its astonishment, a new tentacle quickly grew where it had bitten the old one off.

You dared bite me? Hmph! Xiao Ba showed no mercy. It unleashed its trump card and sprayed a mouthful of ink into the Taowu's eyes, plunging its world into endless darkness.

The Taowu's temper flared. It was one of the four great ancient ferocious beasts! There was no way it would lose to some obscure Tentacle Monster! Though it could not open its eyes, it thrashed desperately and snapped at everything within reach.

But after biting who knew how many times, until its tusks were wobbling and nearly knocked loose, the Tentacle Monster before it was still whole and unscathed, baring its teeth with all eight tentacles outstretched.

What?

The Taowu had only just managed to open its eyes. Unable to believe it, it rallied to start biting again, only to take another faceful of ink and fall back into darkness.

At last, it rolled onto its back and wagged its tail like a dog, admitting defeat.

Delighted, Xiao Ba claimed the land beneath the Back Mountain cliff beside the Seven-Colored Heaven-Mending Stone as its kingdom and moved into the newly built fishpond with a whole school of Sea Fish. Feeling the rich spiritual energy around it and sensing that it would soon break through from Nascent Soul to Spirit Transformation, Xiao Ba could not contain its excitement. It spread all eight tentacles and broke into a wild, chaotic dance.

At the sight, the Taowu joined in, swaying from side to side. It looked clumsy, silly, and hilarious.

[Neither of these two great ferocious beasts looks very bright.] Ye Zhenzhen delivered her verdict.

The area by the Back Mountain barrier had become their "Secret Base." Ye Zhenzhen had Ye Qingchuan transplant all the Spirit Herbs, Spirit Flowers, and spirit fruits he had swept up in the Illusory Forest beside the Seven-Colored Heaven-Mending Stone.

Only then did Ye Qinghui and Ye Qingyao discover that their junior sister and brother were truly bandits. They had dug three feet into the ground and stripped the place of so many Spirit Plants, roots, soil, and all.
