Huo Yuhao’s documented ring acquisitions show how a soul beast’s age, a ring’s current strength, and its place among a soul master’s martial souls can differ.

Acquisition and Limits

• Spirit Rings rise from slain soul beasts; Yuhao absorbs the Mirror Shadow Beast’s ring by activating Spirit Eyes and drawing it into his body 8 27.
• A soul beast can instead sacrifice itself to become a ring. Tian Meng’s plan allows such beings to retain their minds as Wisdom Spirit Rings, but the Ice Empress’s fusion requires careful guidance and puts Yuhao through severe pain 9 21 23 24.
• Below the ten-thousand-year level, a soul master’s physical condition limits the age of a ring they can absorb. Xu Jiujiu initially doubts that the malnourished Yuhao could withstand even a hundred-year ring 6.
• Whale Rubber strengthens the body and can raise that limit, though its effects eventually stop increasing. Xu Jiujiu estimates that the six pieces she gives Yuhao could prepare him for a thousand-year first ring 7.
• Absorbing a ten-thousand-year soul beast’s ring also involves a soul shock. Before seeking his fourth ring, Yuhao considers his spiritual power, already approaching that of an ordinary Soul Emperor, sufficient to withstand it 87.
• Ring absorption can become easier as the recipient’s body improves. After the Ice Empress’s fusion widens Yuhao’s meridians again, he absorbs the Mirror Shadow Beast’s ring in less than half an hour without feeling bloated by its Soul Power 27.
• For soul masters with ultimate attributes, reaching three rings sharply increases the Soul Power needed for further advancement, slowing subsequent cultivation 35 62.
• A ring can also form through an exceptional material-based transformation: Four-Not-Like’s second ring condenses while Yuhao absorbs Gu Yuena’s reverse scale, rather than through the killing or sacrifice of a soul beast 98.

Soul Spirit Contract Method

Jiang Ziya and Electrolux develop a method that allows a soul master to obtain a Spirit Ring without killing the soul beast. It combines Jiang Ziya’s exotic-beast-controlling spell, contract magic from Electrolux’s world, and the sacrificial method demonstrated by Tian Meng. The resulting bond establishes a partnership in which human and soul beast can nourish one another 92 93.

• The contract allows the soul master to choose a skill possessed by the contracted soul beast for the resulting ring 93.
• During Yuhao’s contract with the Silver Hero Beast, he senses her emotions and reassures her. A black ring condenses at his fourth ring position, its presence strengthening until it reaches the ten-thousand-year level 93.
• The Silver Hero Beast survives the process and becomes larger and more intelligent. Yuhao names her Xiao Yin, and she accepts him as her partner 93.
• Skill selection does not necessarily preserve the selected ability unchanged. Xiao Yin’s Imprint mutates into Mental Replication when it becomes Yuhao’s fourth Soul Skill 93.
• The technique remains unfinished: a single contracted soul beast can currently provide only one ring. Electrolux’s goal is to enable one soul beast to provide multiple rings 94.

Assisted Ring Hunting

• Shrek Academy offers ring-hunting assistance as a benefit for Core Disciples. After the Freshman Competition, Yan Shaozhe announces that selected students may apply for an elder to help obtain the ring best suited to them 83.
• Rare rings are also used as recruitment incentives. During the dispute over Yuhao’s departmental placement, Yan Shaozhe offers hundred-thousand-year rings and promises that Yuhao’s second martial soul will have no fewer than three such rings; these are proposed future benefits, not documented acquisitions 62.
• Yuhao declines academy assistance for his fourth-ring hunt and instead travels with the Snow Empress. He seeks a Silver Hero Beast over twenty thousand years old because its Imprint ability could complement his existing clone and illusion skills 84 85 87.

Appearance

Spirit Rings appear around a soul master or rise from a soul beast after its death. Their visible colors indicate age, although Yuhao’s rings demonstrate that appearance can be disguised 2 8 12 25 27 31.

• Tian Meng says million-year rings are gold, with a shade that varies by recipient. Yuhao’s ring initially looks white tinged with gold, so he uses Jiang Ziya’s Illusion Spell to make it appear purple 12.
• Yuhao displays three purple rings when confronting Wang Dong, and later displays three purple rings and one black ring after obtaining his fourth Spirit Eyes ring 43 93.
• When showing Mu En his evolved Four-Not-Like, Yuhao presents two black rings and describes an encounter with an ancient Silver Dragon. This displayed configuration differs from the blood-red and silver rings documented during their actual formation 25 98 101.
• A ring can retain its source’s recognizable aura. Releasing the Ice Empress’s ring causes her kin to rush toward Yuhao after sensing her presence 25.

Granted Abilities

Spirit Eyes Rings

• Tian Meng’s first ring grants Spiritual Detection Sharing, which lets Yuhao share detailed awareness of his surroundings. Its demonstrated range is a fifty-meter radius 14.
• The Mirror Shadow Beast’s ring grants Spiritual Clone rather than the beast’s copying ability. Each translucent clone costs mental energy, so the number Yuhao can create depends on his reserves 27.
• The Spirit-Eyed Butterfly’s third ring grants Spirit Butterfly Illusion Realm. It draws an opponent into an illusion through spiritual power and can simulate objects and beings together with their auras. Combined with Spiritual Clone and an Ultimate Ice puppet, it produces a convincing imitation 42.
• The third ring also allows Yuhao to blend into his surroundings while moving through the Star Dou Great Forest 87.
• Xiao Yin’s fourth ring grants Mental Replication, a mutated form of Imprint. It allows Yuhao to reproduce martial souls he has seen and retained in his mind, together with their Soul Skills. The power of the copied skills is limited by his own Soul Power Level 93 103.
• Demonstrated replications include the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda, whose speed enhancement he uses on Di Qiu’er; the Light Goddess Butterfly, with which he imitates Wang Dong’er and matches her wing slash; and the Three-Life Soul-Suppressing Cauldron, with which he performs Cauldron’s Tremor 93 103.

Ice Empress’s Ring

• The ring gives Four-Not-Like Ultimate Ice, leaving Yuhao able to withstand the cold at the heart of the Extreme North 25.
• Yuhao subsequently uses Ice Empress abilities in battle, including Ice Emperor Bodyguard for protection and Ice Emperor’s Pincer to strengthen a claw strike 27.

Reverse Scale Ring

• Four-Not-Like’s silver second ring forms as the martial soul completes its five elemental attributes through Gu Yuena’s reverse scale. Jiang Ziya explains that the process transforms those attributes into ultimate attributes 98.
• Mu En subsequently recognizes the ultimate attributes of the five elements, and Yuhao later confirms the transformation to Xiao Xiao and Wang Dong’er 101 103.
