Tang Hao vs. Chen Xin

Tang Hao gripped the Clear Sky Hammer and refused to yield an inch. He gave a cold sneer. "So what if we go to war? I've never thought much of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect! Forget the Clear Sky Sect. I could wipe out your sect on my own!"

"Utter arrogance!" Chen Xin snapped, his sword intent surging once more.

Confidence filled Tang Hao's eyes. "Arrogance? I had only just become a Titled Douluo when I killed Qian Xunji and another Titled Douluo and gravely wounded two more."

"I'm level 96 now. Wiping out your Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect would be child's play."

"Then let me see you try!" Killing intent flared from Chen Xin as he shouted, "Someone, escort the young ladies away at once!"

Several Soul Saints from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect who had accompanied Chen Xin appeared. Without a word, they took Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing and sped into the distance.

Flender saw this and dared not linger. He immediately took Tang San and retreated far from the heart of the battlefield.

Only the two Titled Douluo remained, facing each other beneath the open sky.

The Clear Sky Hammer and Seven Kill Sword collided with a thunderous crash. A battle for the ages had begun!

Meanwhile, Sword Douluo Chen Xin coughed up several mouthfuls of blood. His face was white as paper, his vitality badly depleted. He, too, was gravely wounded.

Judging by the result, Tang Hao, who had lost his Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Ring, had fallen slightly short of Chen Xin despite possessing six Spirit Bones to Chen Xin's five.

In the Douluo world Su He inhabited, Chen Xin did have Spirit Bones—five of them, each at least thirty thousand years old.

Nor did Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo have only a single thousand-year Spirit Bone between them.

Su He watched Tang Chen flee without his right arm and Tang Hao flee without his left.

For some reason, the sight struck him as funny.

It had only been a day since he created the Sky Curtain, and the Shrek Seven Devils had already fallen apart. Ning Rongrong and Tang San, in particular, were now bitter enemies.

Perhaps he should throw Tang San, Dai Mubai, Ning Rongrong, and Zhu Zhuqing into a dungeon together sometime. Something interesting might happen.

The Ultraman Tiga dungeon was out of the question, though. They would be small fry there, with little chance to do anything.

As Ultraman Tiga continued to air, Tiga's standing among the people and Soul Beasts of Douluo Star kept rising. Faith in the Light God rose with it. Even within Spirit Hall and the Sea God Temple, quite a few people had secretly shifted their faith to Tiga and the Light God.

In many places, people had begun building temples to the Light God and Tiga of their own accord.

Memorable scenes and lines from the show began appearing throughout Douluo Star with increasing frequency.

As people and Soul Beasts offered their faith, their ways of thinking began to change.

That shift in thinking was far more powerful than the influx of outside knowledge alone.

Episode 7, "The Alien Who Came to Earth": the Rucheran Alien appeared.

Munakata: "Children's dreams are what will create a better future for Earth. To make those dreams come true, they must dare to challenge reality."

Episode 8, "The Night of Halloween": Kiranos, the Fourth-Dimensional Alien, appeared.

On Halloween night, GUTS received an unusual signal and went to investigate.

While pursuing a strange witch, GUTS discovered that she was Kiranos, a Fourth-Dimensional Alien who stole children's dreams.

Witch: "Children don't need dreams. Until they grow up, it's enough for them to be pushed around like dolls."

Daigo: "Give the children their dreams back! Dreams belong to every child."

Episode 9, "The Girl Who Waited for a Monster": the guardian monster Machina appeared.

Saki had waited twenty years for Machina, and at last the monster came for no other reason than to take her home.

Saki: "Even if I have to wait a hundred years, I'll wait for it to come and take me home."

Held captive by Tang Hao and manipulated by Tang San, Xiao Wu stared blankly at the Sky Curtain as Machina took Saki away. Regret stirred within her. Why had she left the Star Dou Great Forest?

Even if she had taken human form to cultivate anew, she could have stayed beside Da Ming and Er Ming.

Da Ming, Er Ming, when will you come take me home?

Tang San noticed Xiao Wu staring into space and offered her a piece of bread.

"Xiao Wu, eat something first. My father means well."

"You're a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast. Countless people covet your Soul Ring and Spirit Bone. He's only keeping you close because he's afraid you'll be in danger."

Xiao Wu forced a smile.

"I understand."

Episode 10, "The Sealed Amusement Park": the barrier monster Gadi appeared.

Shinjo and his sister met Haruki and his sister at an amusement park, where the latter two were being bullied. Shinjo encouraged them to be brave.

Then Gadi emerged from underground. Young Haruki was trembling with fear, yet he stood firm in front of his sister and gritted his teeth as he faced the terrifying giant beast.

Shinjo: "Laughing when someone else fails is the most shameful thing you can do."

Shinjo: "Every boy has to face his fears someday. He can't back down. As an older brother, he has to protect his little sister."

At this, Tang San turned to Xiao Wu beside him and spoke with heartfelt resolve. "Xiao Wu, don't worry. You're my little sister. I'll do everything I can to protect you from now on. I won't let anyone hurt you."

The camp was quiet and deserted. Tang Hao happened to be away, making this the perfect chance to escape.

Urgency and apprehension flickered in Xiao Wu's eyes. She caught Tang San's sleeve and pleaded softly, "Brother San, I believe you! I know you care about me more than anyone. But I really miss home. Could you let me go back and visit?"

Tang San glanced around quickly, then nodded gently. "All right. Father isn't here. Go now."

Gratitude filled Xiao Wu's face.

"Thank you, Brother San."

She did not dare linger. As soon as she finished speaking, she turned and ran down a path through the distant woods.

The instant Xiao Wu turned away, the gentle smile vanished from Tang San's face. All warmth left his eyes, replaced by a heavy gloom.

He stared after Xiao Wu as she ran, his gaze dark.

Xiao Wu, Xiao Wu. I gave you my whole heart, truly treated you as my dearest little sister, and promised to protect you for life.

So why can't you appreciate any of it? Why do you only want to run away from me?
