At the sight, Daigo felt a sudden, violent tremor in his heart.
Then vast, unfamiliar memories flooded his mind like water bursting through a dam: ancient whispers that belonged neither to him nor even to this dimension.
Without a moment's hesitation, Tiga shot upward, becoming a streak of light that vanished into the boundless depths of space.
He crossed his arms sharply before his chest. The dazzling Glitter Zeperion Beam became a sword that could tear through the universe and slammed into the surging dark energy.
In an instant, the thick darkness wherever the light reached was purified, melting away like snow.
But just as everyone thought it was over, Tiga suddenly raised his head.
The Sky Curtain's view rose with his gaze, piercing layer after layer of nebulae,
until a sight that could make every living being stop breathing came into view—a colossal eye stretched across the cosmos, its size rivaling an entire galaxy!
The eye had no pupil. Within it lay only madness and chaos in their purest form.
As its gaze swept past, the entire Milky Way and countless surrounding galaxies began to twist and decay. The corruption kept spreading.
First living creatures, then buildings, mountains, and rivers. Then planets, galaxies, and star clusters sprouted grotesque compound eyes, countless mouthparts, and writhing tentacles, all uttering incomprehensible whispers.
Even space and time were corrupted, warped, and twisted by that indescribable power.
Though they watched through the Sky Curtain, the beings of Douluo Star felt an overwhelming psychic shock. Jumbled, eerie whispers rang in their ears. Their minds grew restless, their thoughts ran wild, and boundless madness and a desire for destruction took root within them, leaving them sick to their cores.
In the Ultraman Tiga World, Glitter Tiga instantly spread a golden barrier of light around the entire Earth, shutting out the mutations and corruption beyond it.
But this power was clearly beyond what Daigo's Glitter Tiga could withstand. Grotesque eyes rapidly appeared across the barrier. Its surface twisted in layer upon layer and steadily blackened. The sacred shield of light was being corroded and warped.
Gu Yuena stood frozen. For the first time, her cool, unflinching eyes, which had never feared death, filled with utter terror. Her voice trembled. "What... what kind of being is that?"
Su He's gaze turned grave. "One of the Three Pillar Gods: Yog-Sothoth."
"Gatanozoa's lingering consciousness used the dark power controlling him to begin a ritual that called upon an Evil God. That call drew Yog-Sothoth's gaze. Unless a being of even higher standing intervenes, that universe will be corrupted and twisted until it becomes part of his body."
"The Three Pillar Gods? Yog-Sothoth? Part of his body?"
Gu Yuena murmured the words. These were plainly things she could not yet comprehend.
Ding—!
An ethereal, sacred chime suddenly rang throughout heaven and earth. A divine melody followed, washing away all darkness and strangeness.
A flawless orb of light descended and hovered in space beyond Earth.
The orb abruptly swelled and burst, sending radiantly pure light sweeping across the corrupted universe.
The colossal eye looming over the galaxies broke apart and vanished in an instant.
Wherever the light passed, distortions of space, warped matter, and grotesque corruption all receded. The universe rapidly returned to its former state, peaceful once more.
The image on the Sky Curtain slowly darkened. Today's broadcast had ended.
Yet no one on Douluo Star spoke. The entire world fell deathly silent. Not even a baby cried.
Everyone's understanding of the world had suffered an unprecedented shock.
Zoga, Gatanozoa, and even Tiga had still fallen within the bounds of what they could grasp. They could at least understand them as beings of greater power.
But the eye that had appeared at the end, and that unknown orb of light, were utterly beyond their comprehension.
If that world-saving orb of light had not appeared and the eye had kept watching,
then even through the Sky Curtain, Douluo Star might have ended up like those twisted planets shown on it.
Seeing the state of Douluo Star's inhabitants, Su He gave up on today's dungeon challenge.
Opening a dungeon now might only unsettle them further and, in turn, interfere with the generation of faith.
He glanced at Gu Yuena beside him. She was still staring blankly into space.
He would let this old girl off for today.
Su He then raised a hand and took out his Game Console.
Gu Yuena, now thoroughly a Gaming Addict Girl, only came back to herself when she heard the sounds of the game.
She shook her head, then picked up her own Game Console and started playing.
At the same time, inside Spirit City's council hall,
the assembled leaders, who had watched the Sky Curtain from start to finish, remained silent for a long while.
At last, Ning Fengzhi spoke.
"Let's set our old disputes aside for today. We can weigh the costs and benefits later. Our first priority is to eliminate the Vampires in Slaughter City as soon as possible, whatever the cost, and prevent any chance of Evil God Gatanozoa appearing. Otherwise, all that awaits us is destruction."
The Snow Empress gave a slight nod, her icy eyes filled with concern. "Exactly. Every moment we delay brings us closer to destruction. We cannot possibly bear the consequences of the Evil God's return."
Bo Saixi, beside them, said nothing for a long time.
Before watching today's Sky Curtain, she had believed Poseidon could descend and solve everything.
She no longer thought so.
No one stalled or passed the blame during the rest of the meeting.
A decision was quickly reached and put into effect at once.
Every Titled Douluo present, along with one hundred Soul Douluos, three hundred Soul Saints, and six hundred Soul Emperors from Spirit City, would set out immediately for Slaughter City at full speed. They would encircle and destroy the Vampire Evil Creatures and eradicate the source of the darkness.
The other major powers across the continent would mobilize their elite fighters as well and rush to reinforce them, preparing for a possible large-scale war against the Vampires.
They would commit the full strength of the continent to stopping this impending calamity before it began.
Within his Divine Kingdom, Su He slowly closed his eyes. An immense torrent of Faith Power, over a hundred times greater than anything before, flowed into his body without end.
His Divine Core began to turn, rapidly converting the influx into gentle, pure-white divine power. Fine strands seeped into the damaged core, steadily mending the cracks within.
After an unknown length of time, Su He opened his eyes and raised a hand to assess his condition.
Then a vast surge of spiritual power passed through the black vortex and reached into the boundless starry expanse.
A hundred thousand kilometers, a million kilometers, ten million kilometers, a hundred million kilometers...
Just as his spiritual power neared its limit, a planet brimming with life entered Su He's senses.
After examining it closely, Su He's eyes stirred. The planet's intelligent inhabitants were elves. Judging by its location,
this should be the Elf Planet from the fourth Douluo story.
The elves' talent for cultivation was astonishing, no matter what world they came from.
The elves on Elf Planet did not follow the Soul Master cultivation system, but measured against it,
the planet had thousands of Titled Douluos, hundreds of level-99 Limit Douluos, and more than twenty Elf Dragons with strength equivalent to levels 103 through 109.
Unfortunately, elves reproduced slowly. The entire planet's population numbered only in the hundreds of thousands. If their numbers were several times greater, its potential for generating faith might even surpass Douluo Star's.
Next, Su He used the same method as before. Moments later, his Sky Curtain enveloped Elf Planet.
Before long, Elf Planet would become another source of endless Faith Power for him.
