Chapters 1–25 Vol. 1 Read

Ch. 1Gol D. Allen

A mysterious baby descended in a rainbow pillar of light during a clash between Gol D. Roger and Whitebeard, and Roger adopted him as Gol D. Allen. Blackbeard Marshall D. Teach secretly planned to capture Allen as the Roger Pirates welcomed him into their crew.

  • Gol D. Roger and Whitebeard clashed, and a black vortex opened above the island as their crews rushed to the scene.
  • A rainbow pillar of light revealed a baby boy, and Shanks and Buggy urged Roger to take him in while Whitebeard also claimed he wanted the child as a son.
  • The baby pointed at Roger, and Pluto Rayleigh encouraged Roger to adopt him; Roger picked him up and welcomed him into the Roger Pirates.
  • Whitebeard led his crew away, while Blackbeard Marshall D. Teach grew jealous and began tracking the Roger Pirates to find a chance to seize the baby.
  • Roger named the child Gol D. Allen, and the Roger Pirates celebrated him as their new darling.

Ch. 2Awakening the system

After four years with the Roger Pirates, Allen finally awakened the Invincible System aboard the Moby Dick and received a mission involving Kozuki Momonosuke. He completed it by bullying Momonosuke and kissing Little Hiyori, earning a Conqueror's Haki awakening as Oden rushed to stop him.

  • After boarding the Moby Dick with Roger and Rayleigh, Allen bound the Invincible System and received a Novice Gift Pack he could not open until completing a mission.
  • The system tasked Allen with leaving a deep impression on Kozuki Momonosuke, and Allen went over to introduce himself and play with him.
  • Allen pinched Momonosuke's cheek and flicked his ear until Little Hiyori tried to push him away.
  • Allen stopped bullying Momonosuke and kissed Little Hiyori, completing the mission and earning the option to awaken Conqueror's Haki.
  • Oden charged at Allen, but Roger and Rayleigh held him back and offered compensation while Allen argued that kissing Oden's daughter was no big deal.

Ch. 3Opening the Gift Pack

Allen awakened Conqueror's Haki and collapsed from exhaustion, then recovered and celebrated with the Roger Pirates. After opening his novice gift pack and consuming a constitution-enhancing elixir, he rushed into the sea, where he summoned the divine sword Heaven's Sorrow before the astonished crew.

  • Allen unleashed Conqueror's Haki, knocking out several pirates before collapsing into Roger's arms.
  • Two days later, Allen woke and promised Roger he would become the Strongest Man in the World, then called for a celebratory banquet.
  • Shanks and Buggy asked Allen how he awakened his Haki, and he hid the system's existence by giving them a false explanation.
  • Allen opened the novice gift pack and received an elixir, the divine sword Heaven's Sorrow, and 2,000 Hero Points.
  • After taking the elixir, Allen rushed into the sea to relieve himself, then claimed he had gone there to practice swordsmanship.
  • Allen summoned Heaven's Sorrow with the words "Sword Come," revealing the glowing sword to the Roger Pirates.

Ch. 4Heaven's chosen son

Allen amazed the Roger Pirates with the power of his sword and earned a major system reward. Roger entrusted Allen’s training to Rayleigh, and two years later Allen, Shanks, and Buggy had grown stronger.

  • Rayleigh and Roger agreed that Allen’s extraordinary arrival made him the “Son of Heaven,” and Roger asked Rayleigh to help Allen grow before his own health failed.
  • After Buggy mocked him, Allen redeemed a Thousand Strikes trial card and sent three powerful slashes into the sea, earning the perfect-version Divine Avoidance skill and 50,000 Hero Points.
  • Roger arranged for Rayleigh to teach Allen swordsmanship and train his Haki when he was older, while Shanks and Buggy asked to join the lessons.
  • Over the next two years, Rayleigh trained Allen, Shanks, and Buggy; Shanks mastered Armament and Observation Haki, while Allen mastered Observation Haki and learned to control his Conqueror’s Haki.
  • Allen checked his progress and found that his swordsmanship had reached roughly the level of a Marine Vice Admiral.

Ch. 5The Roger Pirates disbanded

Allen tried to dissuade Roger from surrendering to the Navy, but Roger insisted on fulfilling his mission and entrusted Allen with his unborn sibling. After Roger left to turn himself in, the Roger Pirates disbanded.

  • Allen refused Shanks's challenge to a duel and told Rayleigh he was waiting until they both reached their peak.
  • The Roger Pirates defeated Golden Lion's Flying Pirates, gathered all four Road Poneglyphs, and Roger became the Pirate King.
  • Roger decided to turn himself in, and Allen pleaded with him to wait for a cure to his illness.
  • Roger gave Allen the Supreme Grade Sword Ace and asked him to protect his unborn child, Portgas D. Ace.
  • Roger sailed away to surrender to the Navy, and the Roger Pirates announced their disbandment.

Ch. 6Roger's death

After Roger was captured, Allen and Rayleigh traveled to Loguetown for Roger’s execution while Golden Lion Shiki attempted to rescue him and was imprisoned. Roger entrusted Garp with caring for his unborn child, then proclaimed that his treasure was waiting to be found before he was executed, igniting a new wave of piracy.

  • Rayleigh agreed to take Allen to Loguetown after Allen pleaded to see his father one last time.
  • Golden Lion Shiki charged Marineford to rescue Roger, fought Sengoku and Garp for three days, and was imprisoned in Impel Down.
  • Roger asked Garp to care for his unborn child, and Garp reluctantly left the cell after their conversation.
  • Garp escorted Roger to Loguetown, where Allen watched from the crowd until Rayleigh stopped him from intervening.
  • Roger declared that he had left his treasure for anyone to find, and the executioners killed him as the crowd erupted in excitement.

Ch. 7Ushering in the Great Pirate Era

After Roger's execution, Allen left with Rayleigh and received a system mission to help Rayleigh find his true love in exchange for the Space-Time Law. Allen suspected the woman was Shakky and persuaded Rayleigh to head for the Sabaody Archipelago, where their search would begin.

  • Allen grieved over Roger's death, and Rayleigh comforted him before taking him away from the execution ground.
  • Two days later, the system gave Allen a mission to help Rayleigh find his true love and promised him Basic Control of the Space-Time Law.
  • Allen learned that the Space-Time Law would grant him space-time abilities and decided to help Rayleigh reunite with Shakky.
  • Allen urged Rayleigh to find a partner, then proposed they travel to the Sabaody Archipelago to look for Shakky.
  • Rayleigh agreed to take Allen to Sabaody and warned him to stay away from the Celestial Dragons before setting their course.

Ch. 8The chaotic Great Pirate Era

Rayleigh and Allen encountered new pirates attacking a merchant ship, and Allen killed them before destroying their vessel. The resulting noise drew Vice Admiral Tsuru and young Gion toward the area aboard a Marine warship.

  • Rayleigh and Allen sailed through waters crowded with newly formed pirate crews, reflecting on the harm the Great Pirate Era had brought civilians.
  • Rayleigh attacked pirates robbing a merchant ship, defeated them, and let them go, prompting Allen to take over.
  • Allen used Golden Conqueror's Haki and the Heavenly Demise Sword to kill the pirates, then destroyed their ship with Cloud Breaker.
  • Vice Admiral Tsuru heard the blast aboard her warship, and Gion pointed out where it had come from.
  • Tsuru ordered the Marines to prepare for battle and steer toward the noise.

Ch. 9An emissary of justice (I)

Allen destroyed a pirate crew and its ship, then collected a million Berry from the rescued merchants before continuing his journey with Rayleigh. After Marine officers heard what happened, Gion persuaded Chief Officer Tsuru to look for Allen at the Sabaody Archipelago.

  • Allen explained to Rayleigh that he killed the pirates because he believed they would keep harming innocent people, and Rayleigh urged him to avoid killing good people.
  • Allen asked Rayleigh to bring their boat alongside the merchant ship, where the merchants paid him one million Berry for saving them.
  • Allen and Rayleigh sailed away, and a Marine warship arrived to investigate the attack.
  • The merchants told the Marines how Allen had defeated the pirates and destroyed their ship, astonishing Chief Officer Tsuru and Gion.
  • Gion asked Chief Officer Tsuru to find Allen at the Sabaody Archipelago and recruit him into the Marines, and Tsuru agreed.

Ch. 10An emissary of justice (II)

Allen spent the attribute points he had earned from killing pirates to strengthen his physique, then sank more pirate ships and looted their treasure. As the Marines pursued him, Tsuru reported his strength to Sengoku, who authorized an exceptional offer to recruit him while warning the Marines not to provoke him.

  • Allen spent all 5,688 attribute points on his physique, raising it to the third order.
  • Allen sank seven or eight pirate ships, killed their crews, and took their treasure while Rayleigh urged him to stop.
  • Tsuru and Gion followed the trail of blood left by the sunken ships, and Gion declared she would make Allen join the Marines.
  • Tsuru reported Allen to Sengoku, who approved offering him the rank of Marine Headquarters colonel and ordered the Marines to avoid forcing him or provoking his companion.
  • Tsuru warned Gion not to force Allen to join, but Gion privately remained determined to recruit him as the warship continued its pursuit.

Ch. 11Arrival at the Sabaody Archipelago

Rayleigh and Allen reached the Sabaody Archipelago and found Shakky being harassed by the pirate Big Crocodile Luo Er. Rayleigh knocked out the pirate and his crew with Conqueror's Haki, then led Allen and Shakky away to talk.

  • Rayleigh and Allen arrived at the Sabaody Archipelago after several days at sea, and Allen marveled at its bubble-covered islands.
  • Rayleigh suggested finding food and news, and the two heard Big Crocodile Luo Er threatening a woman inside a restaurant.
  • Allen recognized the woman as Shakky, the target of Rayleigh's mission, and Rayleigh greeted her while Allen teased them.
  • Luo Er ordered his underlings to threaten Rayleigh, Allen, and Shakky, but Rayleigh released Conqueror's Haki and knocked everyone unconscious except Shakky and Allen.
  • Rayleigh told Shakky and Allen to leave with him so they could talk elsewhere.

Ch. 12Shakky's Love

Tsuru’s Marines arrived at Sabaody and spotted the small boat, while Rayleigh reunited with Shakky on a secluded island. Shakky confessed her love, and Allen secretly arranged to use a love-enhancing elixir to push Rayleigh toward accepting her; the three checked into an inn with two rooms.

  • Gion spotted the crude boat in the harbor, and Tsuru ordered the Marines to rest and replenish supplies rather than search for Allen.
  • Shakky told Rayleigh she had left Amazon Lily and the Nine Snake Pirates to be with him, but Rayleigh hesitated and said he needed time to think.
  • Allen urged Rayleigh to accept Shakky, then decided to help by redeeming the elixir Infinite Love from the system.
  • Allen persuaded Shakky to mix the elixir into wine and arranged for her and Rayleigh to have time alone at an inn.
  • Rayleigh returned after checking the island, and the three found an inn where he booked two rooms.

Ch. 13A chance encounter with Monkey D. Dragon

  • Allen urged Rayleigh to accept Shakky's invitation for a drink, then left them alone and slept in Shakky's room.
  • Allen received the Space-Time Law skill and 100000 Hero Points, then checked his attributes and abilities.
  • Allen slipped out to practice Space Transfer, discovered it drained his stamina, and recovered before training with Heavenly Demise.
  • Monkey D. Dragon appeared after hearing Allen's sword strikes and asked his name and who had taught him swordsmanship.

Ch. 14Lectured by a Little Girl

Allen rejected Dragon as a master but made him promise to help someday, then returned to the inn and slept late. After spending the day with Rayleigh and Shakky, Allen wandered through Sabaody Archipelago and met a young Gion, who lectured him for being alone.

  • Dragon asked Allen to become his student, but Allen refused and instead persuaded Dragon to become his friend and owe him a favor.
  • Allen returned to the inn using Teleport and went to sleep while Rayleigh and Shakky continued their private activities.
  • Rayleigh woke Allen in the afternoon, and Allen teased him about how poorly soundproofed the inn rooms were.
  • After lunch with Rayleigh and Shakky, Allen went out alone to stroll around Sabaody Archipelago.
  • Gion found Allen on a secluded street and warned him about the dangers of wandering alone, offering to take him home.

Ch. 15Tricking the Little Bunny (Part One)

Allen met Gion, a young Marine Lieutenant Commander, and tried to persuade her that the Marines’ ties to the Celestial Dragons compromised their justice. After they agreed to a sparring bet, Allen summoned his glowing sword, leaving Gion stunned.

  • Allen teased Gion about the Celestial Dragons and challenged her faith in the Marines’ justice.
  • Gion confronted Allen over suspected pirate killings, while Allen distracted her with a shameless hug and denied molesting her.
  • Gion offered Allen the choice of prison or joining the Marines, but he refused both and asked her to be his big sister instead.
  • Allen and Gion agreed to a bet: if he lost, he would do one task for her, and if she lost, she would let him hug her whenever they met.
  • Allen led Gion to an uninhabited island and summoned Little Sword from a vortex, astonishing her.

Ch. 16Tricking the Little Bunny (Part Two)

  • Allen and Gion exchanged sword attacks, and Allen got behind her before she could stop him.
  • Allen used Conqueror's Haki to make Gion collapse, and she admitted defeat and agreed to their bet in private.
  • Gion offered to buy Allen a Den Den Mushi and have a Vivre Card made, and they exchanged contact details before parting.
  • Allen gave Vivre Card pieces and Den Den Mushi numbers to Rayleigh and Shakky, then asked Rayleigh to guide his training.
  • Rayleigh persuaded Shakky to stay behind, and he and Allen left for an uninhabited island.

Ch. 17A new mission

In 1500, Allen received a mission to repel the Buster Call and save Ohara, with Basic Control of the Time Law as the reward. He recruited Rayleigh and Gaban, then persuaded Dragon to join them, and the group prepared to head for Ohara.

  • Allen received a system mission to stop the Buster Call at Ohara and learned that the Time Law could manipulate the speed of attacks and affect enemies.
  • After checking his attributes, Allen decided he needed powerful allies and asked Rayleigh to help him stop the Buster Call.
  • Allen and Rayleigh contacted Gaban, who agreed to meet them at Ohara without first being told they would fight the Navy.
  • Allen called Dragon and explained that the World Government planned to destroy Ohara because its scholars were researching the Void Century.
  • Dragon agreed to go to Ohara to save his friend Dr. Clover and use Ohara's knowledge in his resistance against the World Government.

Ch. 18Heading to Ohara

Allen traveled to Ohara with Rayleigh and Gaban, where he befriended the young Robin. When a Marine Buster Call arrived, Rayleigh intervened to save Sauron from Akainu’s magma attack, leaving the Marines stunned by his presence.

  • Dr. Clover welcomed Rayleigh, Gaban, and Allen to Ohara, where Allen and Robin became friends.
  • Gaban announced that an injured Giant Marine had washed ashore and warned that the Marines were coming to attack Ohara.
  • Rayleigh sensed ten warships approaching, and Dr. Clover realized the scholars had no time to move the Tree of Knowledge’s books.
  • Akainu attacked Sauron with Great Eruption, but Rayleigh shattered the magma fist with a slash.
  • Aokiji recognized Rayleigh, and the Marines wondered whether other Roger Pirates were also on Ohara.

Ch. 19Battle against the Navy, the Buster Call Begins

Rayleigh and Gaban fought the navy to protect Allen, Robin, and Ohara’s scholars as Akainu attacked and the World Government began a Buster Call. With the island under bombardment and the battle at a stalemate, Rayleigh proposed that Gaban lead the others to safety while he stayed behind.

  • Rayleigh and Gaban confronted Aokiji and Akainu, while Spandine reported their arrival to the Five Elders.
  • Akainu launched magma meteors at the island, and Allen used his ability to protect Dr. Clover, Robin, and the others from the falling attacks.
  • Aokiji and Akainu considered capturing or killing Allen, prompting Rayleigh to unleash his Conqueror’s Haki and attack the navy with Gaban.
  • Rayleigh and Gaban’s assault sank two warships, but the golden Den Den Mushi sounded and the navy began the Buster Call despite civilians remaining on Ohara.
  • Aokiji challenged Spandine over the bombardment, while Rayleigh and Gaban struggled to hold off the remaining warships and navy officers.
  • Rayleigh urged Gaban to evacuate the others from the far side of the island while he stayed behind to hold off the navy, but Gaban refused and offered to stay in his place.

Ch. 20Step aside, I'm about to show off

Allen increased his swordsmanship and physique, learned the basic version of Thousand Strikes, and used it to destroy a Navy warship. Akainu attacked him while Aokiji held Rayleigh back, and the chapter ended with Allen missing from the spot struck by Akainu’s magma fist.

  • Allen spent his attribute points to raise his swordsmanship and physique, then redeemed and learned Thousand Strikes.
  • Allen told Robin to hide with Dr. Clover and the others while he went to help Rayleigh and Gaban.
  • Allen struck a warship with Thousand Strikes, wounding a vice admiral and splitting the vessel in half.
  • Akainu decided Allen was a threat, while Aokiji froze the ground and fought Rayleigh to prevent him from reaching Allen.
  • Akainu attacked Allen with a magma fist, and after the impact, Allen was nowhere to be seen.

Ch. 21Reinforcements Arrive, the Face-Fruit?

Allen survived Akainu’s magma attack and fought alongside Rayleigh and Gaban as the Marines intensified their assault on Ohara. Just as they were close to being overwhelmed, Dragon arrived and demanded that the Marines retreat.

  • Allen reappeared unharmed, reassured Rayleigh and Gaban, and joined them in holding off Akainu, Aokiji, and the other Marines while they waited for Dragon.
  • At Marine Headquarters, Sengoku told Kong Garp about Allen’s swordsmanship and his connection to Rayleigh and Gaban, and Kong ordered the Marines to make them their primary targets.
  • Aokiji and the other Marines increased their attacks, leaving Allen, Rayleigh, and Gaban exhausted and struggling to hold their ground.
  • A hurricane raised a huge wave toward the Marine warships, and Aokiji tried to stop it but was forced back by a gale.
  • Dragon appeared in a Gray-Green Cloak and ordered the Marines to retreat as his ship arrived at Ohara; Allen recognized the entrance as a chance for Dragon to show off.

Ch. 22The Marines retreat

After Dragon arrived, the Marines withdrew from Ohara, ending the Buster Call. Dragon then arranged to evacuate the scholars and their books, and Robin woke aboard the departing ship after Ohara disappeared from view.

  • Dragon demanded that the Marines choose between retreating and fighting, and Sengoku ordered them to withdraw from Ohara.
  • Allen, Rayleigh, and Gaban rested after the Marines left, while Rayleigh reproached Allen for waiting until the attack began to act.

  • Robin woke aboard Dragon's ship after it had sailed far enough that Ohara was no longer in sight.

Ch. 23A Journey Alone

After Robin woke and asked Olvia to take her to Allen, Allen received his mission rewards and departed Ohara with Rayleigh while Gaban stayed behind. Five years later, after training alone and traveling the Four Seas to fight pirates and challengers, Allen set out to seek stronger opponents and break through his bottleneck.

  • Robin woke beside Olvia and insisted that she would still want to be with Allen when she grew up, so Olvia agreed to wait until Robin turned eighteen before supporting her decision.
  • Allen received the basic Time Law skill and unlocked his divine sword’s Flight ability after completing his mission on Ohara.
  • Allen invited Gaban to travel with him and Rayleigh, but Gaban declined, and the three men exchanged farewells before Allen and Rayleigh sailed away.
  • Three years later, Allen had mastered all three types of Haki, and Rayleigh left him to train alone because he had little more to teach him.
  • After two years of solitary training, Allen decided that actual combat was needed to overcome his bottleneck and traveled the Four Seas, defeating pirates and challengers while gaining attribute points and treasure.

Ch. 24Kozuki Oden?

Allen met Yamato in Wano Country, sparred with her, and promised to take her out to sea. Kaido intervened, drove Allen away, and took Yamato back into custody while Allen continued his journey.
