Background / History

Shen Yin was assigned to the Tianyunxia Branch while still a Firefly Rank support specialist. She grew close to teammates Chen Feng and Qing Liu, and Chen Feng welcomed her into her family home 139 140.

Seven years before the present events, their team investigated Fallen Beast activity at Cloud Sky Gorge. Qing Liu died after forcing Shen Yin out of an underwater ambush; Chen Feng died using a Magic Power overload to signal for help and give her teammates a chance to survive. Tian Luo survived with severe injuries. Shen Yin underwent a year of counseling, and her regret at being unable to protect the others drove her toward intensive physical training and a more combat-oriented fighting style 139.

Years later, Headquarters sent Shen Yin to Our City to counter an infiltrator capable of disguise and cognitive interference. She proposed using her own arrival as an ambush opportunity, but was intercepted before reaching the rendezvous. Despite being captured, she refused to lure Love to the enemy alone and instead shouted the enemy’s location to her allies 61 62 63. After the battle, she screened Branch staff for a suspected spy, identifying a monitoring officer whose mind appeared completely blank 66.

Once the Our City assignment ended, Shen Yin returned to Headquarters 102 105. Scholar later engineered a confrontation with her, defeated her, and forced her to relive the Cloud Sky Gorge disaster in an attempt to recruit her. Masked Heroine and Ranger intervened; Shen Yin recovered enough to rejoin them, and a later examination found no lasting injury from the mental attack 136 137 139 140 141 142.

Shen Yin wears round glasses and, when using her power, is associated with a pale cyan glow. Her once-slender-looking hands show the muscle developed through her training 62 66 136.
