Background and History

Cao Kun arrived on the Douluo Continent as a six-year-old orphan. Zhao Wuji saved him during a life-threatening crisis and took him in as a disciple at Shrek Academy. Meeting Zhao also awakened Cao Kun’s sign-in system, whose rewards supplied his original twin Martial Souls, cultivation resources, Soul Rings, and techniques throughout twelve years of seclusion 1.

While still living on Shrek Academy’s back mountain, Cao Kun founded Mount Buzhou. Three years before his Level 99 breakthrough, he defeated Dugu Bo, cured the poisonous backlash affecting Dugu Bo and Dugu Yan, and brought both into his faction. Dugu Yan became his attendant and disciple 2.

Cao Kun emerged from seclusion when Tang Hao attacked Zhao Wuji over Tang San’s injury in an academy assessment. He intercepted Tang Hao, defeated him, and stopped his Ring Detonation attack with Space-Time Stasis. After Tang Hao fled, Cao Kun concealed his role from the students and gave Zhao Wuji and Flender a fabricated account of a hidden-sect inheritance to explain his strength 5 7 14 15 16.

At eighteen, Cao Kun appears to be an ordinary young man despite his concealed strength 1 5.

Personality

Cao Kun remains composed in battle and treats cultivation breakthroughs as steps toward godhood rather than occasions to stop advancing. He prepares carefully for risky gains: he delayed refining Dragon God’s Blood, then stayed in seclusion to stabilize the resulting Quasi-God realm 1 87 90.

As Mount Buzhou’s leader, he invests heavily in followers he considers valuable, but ties resources and advancement to loyalty. His methods can be coercive: he uses binding soul marks on recruits, deliberately steers Tang San’s training, and pressures Xiao Wu into serving him by exposing her hidden identity 19 22 41 66.

• Chaos Bell: A God-tier Martial Soul associated with chaos, space-time, and suppression. Its abilities include the defensive Indestructible Golden Bell, the offensive Primordial Unity Strike, and Space-Time Stasis 1 58.
