Background and History

Mobius is Hades’s third son. By fifteen, he had graduated from the Royal Military Academy and was training his Tendon-Tendon Fruit in the Kronos Kingdom’s gravity-enhanced facilities 246 344. He later commissioned the Thousand-Hand Bodhi for 600 million Beli and began a tour of the Four Seas with nearly a thousand companions, many from the academy and Sky Arena. His following grew into Ten Thousand Serpents 473.

The voyage served both Mobius and the kingdom: he recruited fighters and explored poorly charted seas while carrying out Hades’s assignment to eliminate factions threatening Kronos Kingdom interests. Kingdom intelligence agents traveled aboard his ship 475. The crew recorded charts, local cultures, and its experiences; its published travelogues became bestsellers. Mobius completed the tour after more than ten years 655 915.

On returning to the Kronos Kingdom, Mobius spent nearly a year training under increasing gravity and sparring with Broly and Hades 982 1044. He then established Ten Thousand Serpents’ headquarters on the Apophis, an Island Turtle carrying a mobile entertainment city, and led it into the central New World 1044 1045. His subsequent victory over Whitebeard gave the venture worldwide publicity; the city opened on May 12 1069 1070 1074.

Appearance

Mobius has a tall, lean build, long black hair, and an unusually handsome face 473 1044.

Personality

Mobius is proud, pleasure-seeking, and often cold toward people outside his close circle. He can restrain his impulses, but his idea of “training” has included hunting the inhabitants of lawless islands, generally sparing those who resist while killing those who refuse to participate 473 474 571. He is also exacting about strength: after losing to Broly, he trained almost without rest, and he treats difficult fights as opportunities to improve 982 1053.

His ambitions extend beyond combat. He planned a permanent base for Ten Thousand Serpents before its voyage ended, then used his fame and commercial connections to launch the Apophis 571 1046 1070. After defeating Whitebeard, he spared him rather than upset the balance among the New World’s powers or interfere with Hades’s plans 1070.

Tendon-Tendon Fruit

Mobius’s Paramecia-type Devil Fruit strengthens his tendons and lets him produce and control them outside his body 246 344.

• Physical enhancement: Strengthened sinews increase his explosive speed, striking power, and durability 246 982.
• Ranged control: Tendons can extend, branch, pierce targets, form armor, or bind opponents. Mobius can alter their thickness and coat them in Armament Haki 344 478 571.
• Movement: He uses extended tendons as footholds and anchors to propel or pull himself through the air 478 1062.
• Awakening: He can reclaim severed tendons and replace them at relatively low stamina cost. Sustained control of thousands of tendons still demands mental focus 1062.
• Limits: Whitebeard’s high-frequency vibrations can sever the tendons, while sufficiently powerful Haki and tremor attacks can break through Mobius’s bindings or defenses 654 1061 1063.

Haki and Body Techniques

• Observation Haki: His wide-reaching perception renders living beings as heat images. He later develops Future Sight; years of controlling numerous tendons sharpened his Observation Haki 474 982 1057.
• Armament Haki: He coats both his body and tendons, and has mastered Internal Destruction 571 982.
• Conqueror’s Haki: He has mastered Conqueror’s Haki coating; his Haki advances further after his victory over Whitebeard 982 1070.
• Binding Arts and Body Techniques: Training in ropework helps him immobilize opponents by locking their joints. He also combines flexible strikes with hidden force, which damages an opponent from within 479 571 653.

Monster-Man Form

After taking one of Psykos’s Monster Cells, Mobius gains a concealed transformation that combines his Snake-People physiology with his Devil Fruit. His Black Tendons become living, python-like extensions, while his vitality and awareness increase 1046 1069.

• Recovery: With the Tendon-Tendon Fruit and Life Return, the form restores him from near-fatal injuries, though internal damage can remain 1067.
• Coordinated attack: He can perceive through and direct numerous tendon-pythons at once. Their bites carry a paralyzing toxin, which strong Haki can resist 1067.
• Detached pythons: A separated tendon-python can act autonomously. Mobius can see through its eyes and give it mental orders, but loses direct control over its movements 1102.

• Thousand-Hand Bodhi — Mobius’s roughly 300-meter luxury sea fortress and the vessel used for Ten Thousand Serpents’ Four Seas voyage 473 475.

• Hades — Father and ruler of the Kronos Kingdom. He supported Mobius’s training, assigned him work during the Four Seas voyage, and cautioned him to keep his rematch with Whitebeard a personal duel 344 475 1044.
• Loki — Friend, former rival, and Ten Thousand Serpents’ second-in-command. Mobius defeated him before inviting him and the White Demon organization aboard 474 475 690.
• Psykos — Secretary, intimate partner, and researcher. Her Monster Cell work transformed Mobius’s abilities, while he supports her plans for the Monster Association 938 1044 1046.
• Cho’Gath — Powerful companion and one of Ten Thousand Serpents’ leading fighters 572 1045.
• Sagros Etalgar — Former young crewmate whom Mobius helped train. Mobius supported his departure to found the Storm Pirates and later monitored his progress from afar 690 936 1095.
