Background and History

Ye Tian was an office worker on Blue Star who died at his desk after prolonged overwork. Reborn as a small Qilin in the Star Dou Great Forest, he recognized Bibi Dong and Yu Xiaogang from the story of Douluo Continent. He resolved to prevent Bibi Dong’s tragic future. Meeting her awakened his Infinite Devouring System, which allows him to refine his bloodline by devouring Soul Beast bloodlines and rare treasures 1.

Bibi Dong could hear Ye Tian’s private thoughts before he could speak. After he showed her fragments of her original fate and enabled her to hear Yu Xiaogang’s hidden motives, she rejected Yu. She concealed her ability to hear Ye Tian and became his caretaker 1 2 3.

At the Lake of Life, Da Ming, Er Ming, Ah Rou, and Xiao Wu recognized Ye Tian’s status as an Auspicious Beast. He traded Qilin Essence Blood for portions of Da Ming’s and Er Ming’s bloodlines, producing his first major increase in cultivation 4 5.

Appearance

Ye Tian initially resembles a small, furry puppy, leading Bibi Dong and others to mistake him for one 1 8.

• Qilin features: When his bloodline develops, scales appear beneath his fur, tender dragon horns rise from his head, and his feet become five-fingered dragon claws. He can return to his smaller, puppy-like appearance 5.
• Human form: After reaching 10,000 years of cultivation, he can take the form of a child and switch freely between human and Soul Beast forms 13.

Personality

Ye Tian is blunt, playful, and fiercely protective of Bibi Dong. He insists on bringing her into the Soul Beasts’ Lake of Life despite Er Ming’s objections, and repeatedly uses his knowledge of the original story to help her avoid Qian Xunji’s plans 4 7 8.

His methods are often deceptive or coercive. He bluffs when uncertain whether his essence blood has helped Da Ming and Er Ming, alters Li Ya’s memories against her wishes, and later forces a master-servant mark onto Chrysanthemum Douluo. His pursuit of revenge against Yu Xiaogang goes well beyond exposing Yu’s theories 6 11 18 22.

Abilities and Skills

Infinite Devouring and elemental powers

Ye Tian’s system strengthens his Qilin bloodline through devouring. Different bloodlines grant him new origins and abilities 1 5 7 22.

• Devouring Da Ming’s and Er Ming’s bloodlines grants Earth, Wind, and Lightning origins, plus abilities including the Gravity Domain, Titan Power, Slow Domain, and Sky Azure Power 5.
• Devouring a Qiluo Desire Snake grants Silk Illusion, which confuses people consumed by lust with illusions of desire 7.
• Devouring the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger grants Evil, Darkness, Time, and Space origins. His Evil Domain can affect an enemy’s will; Ultimate Evil Power can erode will and bring a target under his control 22.
• His body has a limit: he must stop his first major bloodline devouring when it becomes overburdened 5.

Auspicious fortune and beast command

• His auspicious aura earns the reverence of Soul Beasts including Er Ming, Da Ming, Ah Rou, and Xiao Wu 4 5.
• He gives each of those four beasts a drop of Qilin Essence Blood. Da Ming’s and Er Ming’s bloodlines later recover and improve slightly 5 21.
• A Fortune Bond with Bibi Dong improves her cultivation speed and aptitude while giving Ye Tian emotional resonance and Soul Power feedback 9 10.
• At 10,000 years of cultivation, he can command animals and Soul Beasts whose cultivation does not surpass his own 13.
• He can communicate with vegetation and Soul Beasts, using them to trace Tang Hao and Ah Yin 22.

Qilin Progenitor Experience Cards

The cards let Ye Tian borrow powerful supportive abilities to change others’ fates, but their use has serious side effects. He says the borrowed power cannot kill and that he has only ten uses in his lifetime 1 12.

• He shows Bibi Dong fragments of her original fate and Yu Xiaogang’s concealed thoughts 2 12.
• He safely delivers Qian Renxue, restores Li Ya’s body, alters memories, and revives a murdered midwife. The effort leaves him unconscious for three days 11 12.
• Against the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger, he suppresses and weakens it while temporarily raising Bibi Dong to Soul Power Level 90 21.
• While the borrowed power remains active, he places a master-servant mark on Chrysanthemum Douluo, enhances Bibi Dong’s soul rings, and gives her a God-bestowed Soul Ring 22.

Relationships

• Bibi Dong — His caretaker, closest ally, and partner in the Fortune Bond. She publicly presents him as her disciple; he declares that he intends to marry her when he is older 3 9 13.
• Yu Xiaogang — Ye Tian exposes his motives and theories, then engineers further public humiliation and physical harm against him 2 15 16 18 19.
• Da Ming and Er Ming — Soul Beast allies who recognize his authority and trade portions of their bloodlines for his essence blood 4 5.
• Ah Rou — A Soul Beast who respects him and agrees to serve as a caretaker once she can safely leave the forest 4 6.
• Qian Renxue — A child whose bloodline and fortune he enhances at birth. They later become close companions, though Ye Tian privately plans for her to become his future bride 11 12 13.
• Chrysanthemum Douluo — A Spirit Hall elder whom Ye Tian forcibly binds with a master-servant mark and orders to support Bibi Dong’s rise to Pope 22.
• Ah Yin — Recognizes him as the sovereign Qilin. Ye Tian intervenes in her planned marriage to Tang Hao, mixing information about Tang Hao’s past with a deliberate false accusation 22 24.

Story Role and Major Arcs

• Changing Bibi Dong’s fate: Ye Tian exposes Yu Xiaogang, then uses Silk Illusion in a plan that diverts Qian Xunji’s assault from Bibi Dong onto Li Ya. He later intervenes in Li Ya’s dangerous childbirth and conceals Qian Renxue’s parentage 2 7 9 11.
• Spirit Hall and Yu Xiaogang: Living publicly as Bibi Dong’s disciple, he arranges a public examination of Yu’s theories and helps turn the crowd against him 13 15 16 17.
• Evil God inheritance: Ye Tian helps Bibi Dong kill the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger, then transfers its Evil God inheritance to her second martial soul. He also binds Chrysanthemum Douluo to his plans for her political advancement 21 22.
• Tang Hao and Ah Yin: Ye Tian confronts Tang Hao, withstands his Clear Sky Hammer, and persuades Ah Yin to break with him. When Tang Hao attacks again, Ye Tian overwhelms him 23 24.
