Background and History

Ye Tian was an office worker on Blue Star who died at his desk after prolonged overwork. He was reborn in the Star Dou Great Forest as a small Qilin. Meeting Bibi Dong awakened his Infinite Devouring System, which allows him to refine his bloodline by devouring Soul Beast bloodlines and rare treasures. The system also gave him ten Qilin Progenitor Experience Cards and warned that his initially weak bloodline could attract predators 1.

Bibi Dong found him in the forest and mistook him for a puppy. She could hear his private thoughts, although Ye Tian did not initially know this. With a card’s power, he showed her fragments of the tragic fate he knew from the original story and let her hear Yu Xiaogang’s hidden motives. She subsequently rejected Yu and took Ye Tian with her 1 2 3.

At the Lake of Life, Er Ming and Da Ming recognized Ye Tian’s auspicious status. They let him devour portions of their bloodlines in exchange for Qilin Essence Blood, which he also gave to Ah Rou and Xiao Wu. When Ye Tian left, he insisted that Bibi Dong accompany him despite Er Ming’s objection to admitting a human 4 5 6.

Appearance

Ye Tian first appears as a small, furry, puppy-like creature. Devouring Er Ming’s and Da Ming’s bloodlines briefly reveals a more imposing Qilin form; later, he gains a child’s human form 1 5 13.

Personality

Ye Tian is protective of Bibi Dong and determined to prevent the future he believes awaits her. He is also irreverent, flirtatious, and quick to pursue an advantage. His own thoughts reveal that he is sometimes less certain than his confident claims suggest, as when he bluffs about the effects of his Qilin Essence Blood 1 6 8.

His methods can be coercive. He helps Bibi Dong escape Qian Xunji’s scheme by substituting Li Ya, then later erases Li Ya’s memories against her wishes to preserve the deception. He also forces Chrysanthemum Douluo into Bibi Dong’s service and engineers Yu Xiaogang’s public disgrace 9 11 15 18 22.

Ye Tian’s system strengthens and refines his Qilin bloodline when he devours bloodlines or rare treasures 1 5 7 22.

Auspicious fortune and beast authority

Ye Tian’s presence carries fortune that other Soul Beasts can sense and benefit from. Er Ming and Da Ming bow to him, while his Qilin Essence Blood passes a share of that fortune to its recipients 4 5 6.

• He speaks Beast Tongue and can communicate with Soul Beasts; he later uses vegetation and Soul Beasts to locate Ah Yin and Tang Hao 5 22.
• After reaching 10,000 years of cultivation, he can command beasts and animals whose cultivation does not surpass his own 13. He uses this ability on a dog during his revenge against Yu Xiaogang 18.

Qilin Progenitor Experience Cards

The cards temporarily let Ye Tian borrow part of the Qilin Progenitor’s supportive power. Its use can alter fate, but severely exhausts him; Ye Tian says it cannot kill directly and that he has only ten uses 1 11 12.

• He uses the power to reveal Bibi Dong’s former fate and Yu Xiaogang’s thoughts 1 2.
• During Qian Renxue’s birth, he delivers the baby, restores Li Ya’s body, alters memories and bloodlines, and later revives a midwife. The effort leaves him unconscious for three days 11 12.
• Against the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger, he suppresses and weakens it while temporarily raising Bibi Dong to Level 90; she delivers the killing blows 21.

Fortune Bond and Qilin Mark

Ye Tian’s emotional bond with Bibi Dong becomes a Fortune Bond. It improves her aptitude and cultivation speed while giving him emotional resonance and Soul Power feedback; the system also promises him a share of her Divine Origin Power if she becomes a god 9 10.

After obtaining the Evil God Inheritance, Ye Tian learns that a Qilin Mark can share an inheritance with another person. Because the inheritance is incompatible with his own attributes, he passes it to Bibi Dong’s Soul-Devouring Spider Emperor 22.
