Background / History

Encounter with Sen Lijiu

Pupula first encounters the newly reborn Sen Lijiu alongside Edwin and Dai Weiwei. When the three block his path without answering his request to move, he attacks with a ball of light, injuring Pupula. She nevertheless addresses him gently, recognizes him as a newly born Fairy King, and invites him to her palace for attribute testing. She assigns Edwin and Dai Weiwei to escort him to the Glory Flower 1 2.

Sen Lijiu subsequently discovers that the Glory Flower is his old weapon, Mujiu. Mujiu warns him that Pupula has hostile intentions and has repeatedly attempted to seal it 4.

Surveillance and intervention in Kukulu’s education

Ji Ying orders shadow guards to monitor Pupula and warn her against harming the Ninth Highness. Feng Luo’s arrival of sixty Fire Phoenixes produces a meteor shower that she recognizes as a warning. Initially amused, she is then ambushed by thirty-five concealed attackers and knocked unconscious. After waking the following day, she remains silent out of fear of another attack 5 6.

Pupula secretly travels to the Human World to foster Lily’s relationship with Xia Mu. The narration reveals that the supposedly destined Flower Fairy Magic Envoy is part of her planning rather than an independent prophecy. Zero’s guards follow her and report her activities 7.

At the same time, she instructs Edwin and Dai Weiwei, through the Three Fairies, to accelerate their intervention in Kukulu’s education. Jun Yi’s close supervision of his younger brother presents a major obstacle. Dai Weiwei’s intrusion into the royal forest ends with Jun Yi punishing her and sending her back to the Goddess Temple 7 9.

Attack on the Castle of Memories

Pupula finds Dai Weiwei badly injured and covered in green potion. She attempts to lift her, recoils upon touching her wings, and accidentally drops her. She then uses magic to heal and move her without further physical contact 11.

Mistaking the potion for ineffective medicine, Pupula fails to recognize that it is a powerful wing-targeted sedative. She leaves Dai Weiwei unconscious and goes to confront Jun Yi. When nobody answers her demands at the Castle of Memories, she attacks the building, eventually using her full strength. Its flower-like defenses neutralize her attacks 12.

A second defensive flower wounds Pupula, leaving injuries that will not heal while draining her magic and life force. She retreats to a hidden realm and draws energy from a glowing tree for roughly three months. Her injuries heal, but the tree becomes visibly depleted 13.

Preparations and failed conference

After recovering, Pupula resolves to accelerate her plan against the Ancient Spirit Fairy Clan. She orders her daughters to cultivate according to unspecified “requirements,” calling this the Flower Fairy Kingdom’s only hope. Her sound-blocking barrier fails to exclude the concealed guards already observing her 13 14.

The weakened tree can no longer adequately sustain the kingdom’s barrier or Pupula’s combat strength. She becomes anxious about Lily and Xia Mu’s slow progress and decides to sacrifice Lily. The narration identifies the kingdom’s celebrated “mysterious power” as power sustained through people’s lives and concealed suffering 14 15.

Following an unsuccessful attack by the Dark Demon God, Pupula convenes representatives from several kingdoms. Her proposed Flower Code would require the Elf Kingdom to supply people and labor without compensation. Lu Qingyi, posing as Manda Gabriel, refuses; he knows her unauthorized use of the Tree of Life’s energy contributed to the crisis 16.

Pupula responds with coercion, but Lu Qingyi shatters her strongest shield and defeats her with successive sword strikes. He reveals her unconscious body to the delegates, and the conference is postponed 16 17 18.

Lily’s sacrifice and the Otherworld Gate

While outwardly quiet, Pupula continues teaching the Three Fairies methods for mastering magical artifacts. Lily follows her guidance, unaware that she herself is the “Chosen Flower” she has been seeking. She builds a family with Xia Mu and gives birth to Xia An’an 40.

When the Demon God invades again, Lily returns to the Flower Fairy Kingdom and concludes that she must merge with the sacred tree to save the Labelle Continent. Pupula confirms that there is no other way and entrusts the future to the destined Flower Fairy Magic Envoy. She grieves as Lily disappears, then urges the Three Fairies to hasten their artifact attunement 41 42.

During the Flower Code’s dispersal through the Otherworld Gate, Jun Yi stays behind to prevent Pupula from obstructing Sen Lijiu’s departure. His summoned artifact reminds her of her earlier beating, and she complies despite her anger. Afterward, she reassures the others that the future belongs to the destined Magic Envoy 43.

Appearance

Pupula’s goddess form combines golden hair, crystalline wings, white clothing, and a star-shaped forehead mark 1 11.

  • Hair: Smooth golden hair reaching her waist 1.
  • Wings: Transparent blue wings resembling crystals; described as butterfly wings when she resumes her goddess form 1 11.
  • Face: Clear, lustrous eyes and a star-shaped forehead mark 1.
  • Goddess attire: A flower wreath and an elaborate white dress; her restored attire has yellow accents and a full, wedding-gown-like silhouette 1 11.
  • Human guise: A white dress falling just below her knees, white high heels, and loose golden hair. Her wings and forehead mark return when she restores her original appearance 7 11.

Personality

Pupula maintains a gentle, noble, and composed public image. She speaks softly to Sen Lijiu even after he injures her and can quickly conceal an unflattering reaction behind her familiar goddess-like expression 2 11.

Her private behavior is calculating and controlling. She engineers encounters presented as coincidence, manufactures the appearance of destiny, and uses Lily’s trust to guide her toward sacrifice. Her declarations of service to the kingdom also protect her authority and personal strength 7 10 14 15 40.

Pupula is proud of her status and quick to anger when ignored. Her unsuccessful demands at the Castle of Memories escalate into a full-strength attack. By contrast, overwhelming force makes her fearful: the concealed ambush silences her, and Jun Yi’s artifact later makes her retreat instinctively 6 12 43.

Her concern for others is mixed with self-interest. She heals Dai Weiwei while avoiding her filthy appearance and worrying about unfinished work and stained flooring. She expresses warmth toward her daughters and genuine grief over Lily’s disappearance, yet continues the preparations that depend on their cooperation 11 13 42.

Abilities & Skills

Light-Based Combat Magic

Pupula attacks with condensed light and beams 12 17.

  • Fires a white beam roughly one meter wide at the Castle of Memories 12.
  • Charges a subsequent attack to full strength, but cannot overcome the castle’s defenses 12.
  • Condenses and throws a ball of light against Lu Qingyi’s golden Sword Aura; his attack destroys it 17.

Shields and Barriers

Pupula creates both defensive shields and barriers intended to conceal conversations 14 17 42.

  • Her ultimate defensive technique is a golden shield reinforced by her flickering forehead mark 17.
  • Lu Qingyi shatters that shield with a single ordinary strike 17.
  • Her Protective Barrier blocks sound, but does not prevent the guards already inside it from overhearing her plans 14.

Portals and Transformation

Pupula uses magic circles, runes, and gates of light to travel and change her presentation 7 11 13.

  • Opens a passage to the Human World, emerging before the Fairy Goddess Statue in Andromeda Park 7.
  • Changes into human clothing and later restores her goddess attire, wings, and forehead mark by tracing an intricate pattern 7 11.
  • Uses and conceals a runic array behind her throne to access the tree’s hidden realm 13.
  • Transports herself and Lily to her palace with a wave of her hand 41.

Healing and Energy Absorption

Pupula can heal others, manipulate objects without touching them, and replenish herself from an external source 11 13.

  • Surrounds Dai Weiwei with white light while levitating and repositioning her 11.
  • Absorbs energy through direct contact with the glowing tree, healing her persistent wounds over roughly three months 13.
  • Depleting the tree weakens a resource needed for the kingdom’s barrier and her own strength 13 14.
  • Requires its support to activate an otherwise unexplained “other form” 14.

Concealment and Observation

  • Becomes invisible while arranging Lily and Xia Mu’s encounter 10.
  • Secretly withers Xia Mu’s research plant, then restores it after Lily arrives, creating a misleading impression that Lily caused its revival 10.
  • Watches Lily and Xia Mu through a Light Screen, while remaining unaware that others are observing her in turn 14 15.

Magical Instruction

  • Directs the Three Fairies’ cultivation according to unspecified requirements 14.
  • Teaches cultivation methods for mastering several magical artifacts and monitors their attunement 40 42.

Relationships

  • Lulu, Luna, and Lusha — Her daughters, respectively associated with love, wisdom, and beauty. She calls them the people she trusts most and prepares them for an important mission 13 14 40 42.
  • Dai Weiwei — Long-serving subordinate. Pupula treats her injuries but exposes a moment of disgust that plants doubt in Dai Weiwei’s otherwise devoted trust 11 12.
  • Edwin — Works at Pupula’s side while undercover. He receives her orders but also warns the Ancient Spirit Fairy royal family about the intervention in Kukulu’s education 2 7 9.
  • Sen Lijiu — Initially treated as a newly born Fairy King requiring attribute testing. His protectors consider Pupula a potential threat and place her under surveillance 2 5 6.
  • Mujiu / Glory Flower — A magical artifact used for Fairy King assessment in the kingdom. Mujiu reports that Pupula repeatedly tried to seal it 2 4.
  • Jun Yi — Opponent whose protection of Kukulu obstructs her plans. His castle’s defenses severely injure her, and fear of his power later prevents her from interfering with Sen Lijiu’s passage through the Otherworld Gate 7 12 13 43.
  • Lu Qingyi / “Manda Gabriel” — Rejects her demands on the Elf Kingdom and defeats her before the conference delegates 16 17 18.
  • Ji Ying, Feng Luo, and Aier — Members of Sen Lijiu’s protective network who monitor and counter her activities; Aier openly wants to make her suffer 5 6 15.
  • Xia An’an — Lily’s daughter. An’an later invokes the “great Flower God Pupula” as witness in her flower-restoration spell 40 49.
