Carol smiled and said:

He nodded to Vegapunk, then activated his ability.

Sakazuki sat in the Fleet Admiral's chair, his feet propped at an angle on the desk, resting with his eyes closed.

Carol suddenly appeared in the room.
Without opening his eyes, Sakazuki asked:
"What's the word from Egghead Island?"
Carol said:
"They still need to do some research. This is their first experiment of this kind, after all."
"I watched for a while just now. Several attempts failed."
"But Dr. Vegapunk said they'll definitely succeed before the final battle."
Sakazuki gave a quiet grunt of acknowledgment, lowered his legs, and opened his eyes before standing up to stretch.
"Then there's nothing else to worry about."
He walked over to the enormous sand table in the room.
All the pieces were in place. Now came the slow process of attrition.
To the entire world, the war between the Marines and the pirates in the New World was a prolonged war of attrition.
But there was a difference.
Sakazuki intended to draw the pirates of the New World into action and grind down the tens of thousands serving each of the Four Emperors before launching the final battle. Otherwise, there would be no end to the trouble they left behind.
Whether it was the pirates, the government, or anyone else in the world, their analysis of the war showed that the Marines had greater fighting strength, but not an overwhelming advantage. They could only wear their enemies down slowly.
One side had deliberately arranged it that way; everyone else had simply accepted it as inevitable.
Ultimately, it came down to an information gap. Sakazuki had hidden
