|---|---|---|
| Cursed energy rises from below Grade 4 to Grade 1 | 216 | Gojo observes his energy rapidly increasing despite the Grade 3 classification on his student ID. This is an observed change in output, not a formal promotion. |

Background / History
Adoption of the White Noroi Name
Nobara proposed “White Noroi” after Little Fox sought a new name. Her explanation—that it shared a surname with Bai Li and made them sound like family—overcame his initial reluctance. He accepted enthusiastically, although his friends continued using familiar nicknames such as Noroi and Sukuna-chan 201.
When questioned about the Bai Li name on his student ID, he explained that he had changed it because a friend had taken that name 216.
Journey to a Parallel Past
White Noroi entered Doug’s cursed tool Gate and encountered sixteen-year-old Gojo and Geto in 2006, twelve years before his own present. Initially unaware that he had traveled through time, he treated them as familiar acquaintances and wondered why Geto seemed shorter. His student ID, phone photographs, and information bearing Gojo’s cursed residue gradually persuaded them that his story was genuine 214 215 216 218.
He joined their protection mission for Riko Amanai. During the assignment, he defeated Bane, caught Riko after an explosion, and rescued Kuroi from another Q member. His binding vow complicated fighting human attackers, so Geto initially assigned him healing duties and combat against cursed spirits 223 224 225.
After agreeing to teach Gojo and Geto Reverse Cursed Technique in exchange for financial help, White Noroi discovered a problem: his own healing used innate positive energy, so he did not initially know how to reverse negative cursed energy. His research eventually produced a genuine reversal that Gojo could study with the Six Eyes 222 225 227 235 237.
His account of the future revealed Kenjaku’s possession of Geto’s corpse. His failure to recognize Haibara also led Gojo and Geto to suspect that their junior had died in White Noroi’s world. These revelations strengthened their determination to survive and protect their companions 233 238.
When Toji ambushed Gojo after he deactivated Limitless, White Noroi intercepted the blade with his forearm. Sukuna subsequently took control; he was still recovering from injuries sustained during space-time transmission 239 240 242.
Choosing Yuji’s Future
White Noroi visited three-year-old Yuji and asked the younger Gojo to prevent him from eating Sukuna’s Finger. He accepted that this would prevent his own resurrection in that world, choosing Yuji’s opportunity for an ordinary life over becoming Gojo’s student there. Geto then realized that White Noroi came from a parallel world: changing their future would not erase the visitor before them 247 248 249 250.
Doug’s unfinished Portal initially appeared to make returning impossible for another eight to ten years. White Noroi later learned that the original Gate would automatically retrieve him after one hundred hours. He returned safely with letters from the younger Gojo and Geto, while Sukuna protected their body against the spatial tunnel’s forces 245 246 249 251 252.
Geto’s Revival and Reintegration
Back at Jujutsu High, White Noroi described the young Geto as gentle and considerate, startling students who remembered him as the curse user behind the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons. White Noroi knew that Kenjaku had possessed Geto, but did not know the Night Parade’s history 256 258.
After Gojo explained Geto’s revival through the letter and Soul Pearl, White Noroi healed him completely. Gojo credited him as an important contributor to Geto’s awakening and later entrusted him with explaining the past and introducing Geto to the students 261 262 263 266 267.
White Noroi sincerely believed that Kenjaku’s possession had caused Geto’s earlier defection. Gojo used that belief, together with the revived Geto’s friendly behavior, to help the students accept him 262 266 267.
New Home and Later Gatherings
White Noroi moved into a large home near Jujutsu High with Sukuna and Uraume, reassuring Yuji that he could still visit every day. He later persuaded Sukuna to separate Uraume from Tsumiki and helped coordinate a replacement vessel with Megumi and Gojo 270 275.
He prepared an elaborate birthday cake for Gojo and personalized New Year’s cards for his friends. In the later reunion chapter, Sukuna had been taking him on frequent overseas trips focused on food; White Noroi brought souvenirs back to share with everyone 281 282 284 285 302.
Appearance
White Noroi appears as a small white fox, as a human while possessing Sukuna, and in a separate half-human, half-fox form 201 215 296.
- Fox form: A large, soft, snow-white tail 201.
- Possessed human appearance: Looks approximately fifteen or sixteen to young Geto; has clear black eyes 215 231.
- Half-fox form: White fox ears and a fluffy tail, with a human-sized body 296 299.
- Clothing: Wears casual clothes such as a white hoodie, as well as Sukuna’s white men’s kimono. In the half-fox extra, he wears a women’s kimono with an enormous bow and trailing ribbons 231 285 296.
Personality
White Noroi is sincere, trusting, and openly affectionate. Geto compares him to a little animal that assumes others will protect rather than exploit him. His goodwill and lack of arrogance make him easy to like, and Gojo considers his sunny disposition suitable for helping the revived Geto face difficult information 220 231 266.
He is protective despite being afraid of pain. He carefully checks whether a human opponent is a curse user before attacking, chooses a punch over Dismantle to avoid killing or maiming Bane, and instinctively shields Gojo from Toji’s blade. He also refuses to let Gojo recklessly experiment with potentially fatal energy reversal 219 223 224 236 239.
Food is a major source of enthusiasm. He orders lavish meals, browses snack cabinets soon after breakfast, and insists that leftovers can become late-night snacks rather than waste. He regularly thinks of sharing enjoyable places and food with Yuji and his other friends 232 233 235 296.
He enjoys boasting about being the King of Curses, but embarrassment easily punctures that image. In the half-fox extra, he initially avoids Jujutsu High because he fears his ears and tail will undermine his supposedly aloof, ferocious reputation 219 265 297.
Abilities & Skills
Innate Positive Energy and Healing
His original healing power is pure positive energy—“life” itself—rather than negative cursed energy converted through Reverse Cursed Technique 227.
- Produces healing that Gojo considers more effective than Shoko’s 220 227.
- Restores other people, including injured Riko and Kuroi, exhausted companions, the revived Geto, and Tsumiki’s injured hand 227 233 262 277.
- Refreshes tired bodies and brains, allowing extended activity without sleep 220 299.
- Consumes energy; prolonged healing and wakefulness can leave him exhausted 239 245.
- Initially cannot teach conventional Reverse Cursed Technique because his own healing requires no reversal 225 227.
Reverse Cursed Technique and Burnout Recovery
He learns genuine Reverse Cursed Technique by using his mental power to manipulate Sukuna’s negative energy at extremely fine scales 235 237.
- His demonstration lets young Gojo perceive the opposing inner and outer energy flows responsible for reversal 237.
- Supports Gojo’s successful training by remaining ready to heal him if an attempt goes wrong 244 245.
- Can heal cursed technique burnout and agrees to teach that process to young Gojo 250.
- Recognizes that careless reversal can be fatal and insists on further research before Gojo attempts it 236.
Mental Power and Surveillance
White Noroi’s mental power covers a radius of 300 meters, allowing him to monitor an entire school during Riko’s protection detail 228.
- Detects incoming daggers before they reach Gojo and Geto 223.
- Perceives Toji’s approach despite Toji having no cursed energy 239 240.
- Can scan energy with enough precision to perceive and manipulate its internal network 235 237.
- Is not infallible: Kuroi suddenly disappears while inside his surveillance range, and he cannot explain how 228.
Dismantle and Physical Combat
While using Sukuna’s body, he employs Dismantle alongside formidable speed and strength 223 224.
- Fires invisible slashes that pulverize dozens of incoming daggers 223.
- Defeats Bane with a single punch, leaving him seriously injured and unconscious 224.
- Outpaces the younger Gojo and Geto while catching the falling Riko 224.
- Rapidly removes Kuroi from a captor’s grasp 225.
- Understands Sukuna’s explanation of how open domains counter closed domains, but his boast that he could defeat Gojo remains untested 219.
Possession, Separation, and Transformation
White Noroi can exchange control with Sukuna and emerge separately as a fox cursed spirit 242 270.
- Returns to fox form after Sukuna takes over their shared body 270.
- Borrows Megumi’s body for a day of clothes shopping after helping Tsumiki 277.
- Appears independently in a half-human, half-fox form while retaining his healing power 296.
- Remains invisible to ordinary people in that cursed-spirit form 296 297 299.
- Later transforms from a fox into a teenage boy 302.
Movement and Concealment
- Short-range teleportation: Teleports directly to his hotel room 235.
- Cursed-energy concealment: Hides his cola with cursed energy while watching a film beside Yuji 300.
Baking and Decoration
- Bakes cakes for the Jujutsu High students 256.
- Creates Gojo’s five-tier birthday cake, decorated with blueberries, chocolate, and detailed fondant figures of their companions 281 282.
- Jokingly ranks his baking third in the world, behind Sukuna and Uraume 256.
Restrictions
- Binding vow: Cannot attack ordinary people or jujutsu sorcerers; curses and curse users are permitted targets. Violating the vow risks severe injury or death, even when the sorcerer is the younger Gojo from another world 219 223.
- Later revisions: Discusses proposed changes to his vow with Sukuna and obtains Gojo’s approval; the supplied passages do not specify the revised terms 262.
- Limited practical knowledge: Initially cannot explain conventional Reverse Cursed Technique and admits that he does not know how to make money 227 228.
- Puzzle-solving difficulty: He and Yuji cannot work out how to reach a Grade 4 curse inside an escape room, so they leave the task to Megumi and Nobara 299 300.
Equipment / Items
- Student ID: Bears the former name Bai Li and lists him as a Grade 3 sorcerer 216.
- Phone: Contains photographs of adult Gojo and his contact details, helping establish White Noroi’s origin. Its future SIM has no signal in 2006 216 217.
- Letters from young Gojo and Geto: Carries both through the return journey and delivers them to the Gojo in his own world 250 251 252.
- Sukuna’s clothing: Refuses to discard his Young Master’s original outfit during the beach trip and has it laundered instead 231.
Relationships
- Ryomen Sukuna — Closely connected companion whose body he possesses; calls him “San-san” and his “Young Master.” Sukuna protects him during space-time travel, indulges him, and later takes him traveling regularly 231 250 252 296 302.
- Yuji Itadori — His “Tiger,” best buddy, and self-proclaimed younger brother. He prioritizes Yuji’s ordinary future in the parallel world and enjoys spending time with him independently 232 249 256 267 299.
- Satoru Gojo — Teacher, protector, and frequent source of teasing and errands. White Noroi becomes the younger Gojo’s healing instructor and helps him learn Reverse Cursed Technique ahead of his original future 220 245 249 266.
- Suguru Geto — Friend who looks after him during the time-travel mission. White Noroi returns that kindness by delivering his letter, healing him after revival, and helping him meet the students 231 250 262 263 267.
- Nobara Kugisaki — Friend who proposes his new name and continues affectionately calling him Sukuna-chan. She interprets his outing with Yuji as a date, although Megumi explicitly disputes that interpretation 201 256 299 300.
- Megumi Fushiguro — Friend whom he contacts to arrange Uraume’s removal from Tsumiki. Megumi lends him his body for shopping but regrets the embarrassing experience 275 277.
- Uraume — Housemate who purchases their home near Jujutsu High; White Noroi rates Uraume’s baking above his own 256 270 296.
- Riko Amanai — Protects and befriends her during the parallel-past mission. She embraces him in tears before her planned assimilation, while he initially fails to understand its implications 224 242.
Notable Quotes
“I don't have any money.”
— His answer when Geto asks whether there is anything he cannot do 228.
“If you ever need me again, just come find me. Unlimited uses of Reverse Cursed Technique, free for a friend~”
— To the revived Geto 263.
Trivia
- He makes Gojo’s birthday cake five tiers tall because “Gojo” contains “five,” joking that “Sanjo” would have saved him two tiers of work 281.
- He writes individual New Year’s wishes for everyone and makes Sukuna close his eyes so his card remains a surprise 284.
- Despite his combat strength, ghost-themed escape-room decorations frighten him 299.
- A separately advertised alternate-universe novel describes White Noroi as Sukuna’s “good side” and pairs him with Gojo in a reconstructed school setting. That synopsis explicitly states that White Noroi is connected to Sukuna but is not Sukuna himself 304.
