Shingetsu recovered under Tobirama’s care while Konoha prepared to host the second Chunin Ninja Exams and Five Kage Summit. As village leaders and contestants arrived, Uchiha Yan returned from the Land of Grass so transformed by feasting that even his granddaughters failed to recognize him.
Uchiha Yan returned to the Uchiha Compound, where his extravagant feast drew the clan into a street-wide banquet. Meanwhile, Hashirama and Madara destroyed the stone tablet fragments, driving Black Zetsu to despair, before Madara mistook Yan for an outsider and beat him.
Madara Uchiha confronted the badly overweight Uchiha Yan before joining Shingetsu and the others for a feast, while Ishikawa and A weighed the difficulties of copying Konoha’s influence. At the second Chunin Ninja Exams, Konoha’s Genin dominated their matches as Shingetsu’s thoughts turned to the upcoming Five Kage Summit.
Shingetsu watched the Chunin Ninja Exams before falling asleep in the stands, wondering where Hōzuki Oborozuki, Kaguya Utsusemi, and Minazuki Rin had gone. After the exams, Hashirama toured Konoha with the other villages’ leaders, whose visit ended with a market tasting and a promotional show about Shingetsu.
The Five Kage Summit resumed with the leaders flattering Hashirama before turning to requests for Konoha’s help. It ended with Hashirama demanding that Byakuren abolish Kirigakure’s Blood Mist Policy, but Byakuren defended the brutal practice.
Shingetsu proposed impeaching Byakuren after he refused to change Kirigakure’s policies, and the other Kage unanimously expelled him from the summit. The Four Kage Summit approved military intervention in Kirigakure, while Konoha prepared for war and rescued Madara’s tortured students.
Konoha and its allies set out to punish Kirigakure, but their campaign began with a hastily assembled fleet and an unexpectedly easy naval encounter. The chapter ended with Kirigakure's tiny vanguard ships surrendering before the battle began.
Konoha’s invasion of the Land of Water turned into a near-effortless victory as Kirigakure’s forces rebelled and surrendered rather than fight. Byakuren was left isolated while the surviving Hozuki, Minazuki, and Kaguya clans joined Konoha and prepared to strike back at Kirigakure’s ruling class.
Konoha’s forces took control of much of the Land of Water, seized its nobles’ wealth and warships, and reached the hidden passage where Hozuki Gengetsu was imprisoned. Konoha rescued the tortured Uzumaki clansman, while Mu left Gengetsu in his restraints until they vanished and the old rivals began fighting.
After Konoha’s allies captured Kirigakure without a major battle, Byakuren faced Madara Uchiha in a duel reserved for Madara. Byakuren’s opening attacks failed to harm him, leaving Madara poised to continue the fight.
Madara Uchiha killed Mizukage Byakuren, and Tobirama forced Hozuki Gengetsu to accept Konoha’s unequal treaties as Kirigakure’s new leader. News of the bloodless victory and its profits delighted Hashirama and the other Kage, though Ishikawa worried Konoha might eventually target his village.
Hozuki Gengetsu took office as Mizukage and began rebuilding the Land of Water while Konoha's forces enjoyed their stay before sailing home. The returning troops reached Konoha unharmed and laden with souvenirs, leaving their worried families astonished.
Uchiha Momoka gave birth to Tsunade, and the people of Konoha celebrated the healthy baby. Shingetsu asked about her own birth, prompting Tōka to recall how she and Hōkaku had fled to the Senju for help and argued over their newborn daughter’s name.
Tōka recalled the chaotic day Madara returned to find her and Hōkaku had wrecked his home, and how the newborn’s cry softened his murderous anger. After discovering the baby was a girl, Madara named her Uchiha Shingetsu and claimed her as his disciple; Tōka ended the memory by wishing her sleeping daughter a happy life.
Hashirama struggled to care for his demanding granddaughter Tsunade while he and Madara swapped stories about raising children. As Konoha celebrated Tsunade’s one-month birthday, Madara regretted that Shingetsu had never received such celebrations, and Hashirama urged him to give her a proper birthday party.
Hashirama accidentally revealed Shingetsu’s birthday, setting off a gift-giving frenzy across Konoha and the shinobi world. As crowds besieged the Uchiha compound with presents, Madara beat Hashirama while Shingetsu dreaded the celebration still to come.
The four Kage and many others arrived in Konoha for Uchiha Shingetsu’s birthday, bringing gifts and hoping to win her favor. At the banquet, Shingetsu’s appearance dazzled the guests, while Hozuki Gengetsu concluded that she had favored his pearl gift.
Shingetsu’s birthday banquet drew the entire village and powerful guests from across the shinobi world, while she endured a long round of greetings before finally celebrating with her loved ones. Madara and Hashirama returned with the captured Two-Tails Matatabi as Shingetsu’s birthday present, and the festivities ended with cake, gifts, and village-wide fireworks.
Three-year-old Tsunade skipped preschool to eat snacks and tend Shingetsu’s cow, Reserve Rations, with Jiraiya and Orochimaru. Shingetsu took Tsunade to get food, while Madara’s earlier harsh discipline had already left Tsunade terrified of him and running laps whenever he demanded it.
Shingetsu pulled Orochimaru away from his training classes and took him, Tsunade, and Jiraiya out for hot pot. They visited Chinatsu’s popular orphanage restaurant, where Shingetsu’s admirers, hungry tailed beasts, and the children shared a lively meal.
Shingetsu skipped training to take Tsunade, Jiraiya, and Orochimaru on a food outing, but Madara caught them and punished them. After revealing that the Uchiha had grown overweight and developed cavities from eating too many sweets, the chapter ended with Madara taking Shingetsu to the Hokage Building to hear what Hashirama wanted to tell her, while promising to deal with her later.
Shingetsu and Madara visited the Hokage Building, where Tobirama struggled with Konoha’s crushing workload and its growing civic problems. Tobirama imposed mandatory clan training and a strict diet on Hashirama, leaving Hashirama despondent after he was forced to eat vegetables.
Tobirama told Shingetsu that the Moon Worship Cult was spreading under her name, but its doctrine revealed a hidden history about the Rabbit Goddess and the Sage of Six Paths. After the group agreed to investigate the cult’s source, the Land of Hot Water’s daimyo explained that it had destabilized his country and killed Yugakure’s Kage.
Black Zetsu struggled to advance his plan to awaken the Rinnegan and free Kaguya while his Moon Worship Cult followers repeatedly ruined his schemes. He decided to lead the cult to one of Kaguya’s sacred sites as bait for Konoha, hoping Madara Uchiha would discover the path to greater power.
Madara, Shingetsu, and Tobirama reached the Land of Hot Water and found it overrun by immortal Moon Worship Cult followers. After Shingetsu killed their leader, Yinduan, Konoha discovered ancient ruins and opened a sealed door with Shingetsu’s blood and chakra, leaving the group wondering about her connection to the Rabbit Goddess.
