Chapters 101–125 Vol. 2 Read

Ch. 101Curiosity: Horcrux

Hermione discovered that Ginny had been controlled by Tom Riddle’s Diary and identified it as Voldemort’s Horcrux. She resisted Tom’s influence, confronted him, and later helped destroy the Diary with a Basilisk Fang, leaving Lockhart terrified after witnessing the deed.

  • After Mrs. Norris was Petrified, Ginny privately told Hermione that a black diary named Tom had been controlling her and making her do terrible things.
  • Hermione took the Diary, recognized it as Voldemort’s Horcrux, and resisted its attempt to influence her mind.
  • Hermione exposed Tom Riddle’s identity, rejected his offer to help restore his body, and used an invisible force against the Diary.
  • Several days later, Hermione handed Tom a Basilisk Fang, and he plunged it into the newly made Diary, destroying it as it screamed and bled.
  • Lockhart watched Tom and Hermione destroy the Diary, realized the young man was Voldemort, and froze in terror as Hermione turned toward him.

Ch. 102A Slap, Then a Sweetener

Hermione forced the soul fragment in Tom Riddle’s Diary to submit, then persuaded him that he would need to replace his original self to survive. She used the Spellbook’s soul energy to give Little Voldy a body, leaving him stunned by her power.

  • Hermione used the Spellbook to gain complete control over the Diary and tortured Tom until he surrendered.
  • Hermione learned that Tom could gain a body by absorbing soul power from someone he manipulated.
  • Hermione warned Tom that his original self would destroy him rather than share power, and urged him to kill Voldemort and take his place.
  • Hermione sent soul energy from the Spellbook into the Diary, allowing Little Voldy to manifest as a young Tom Riddle.
  • Little Voldy recognized Hermione’s abilities and regretted not surrendering sooner.

Ch. 103The inescapable curse

Hermione recruited Young Voldy to help her change the Wizarding World, starting with the Chamber of Secrets and making Draco Malfoy its recognized heir. She forced Lockhart to choose between taking credit as Hogwarts’s hero and dying a hero’s death, and he chose fame and survival.

  • Hermione told Young Voldy that she wanted to change the Wizarding World and planned to make Draco Malfoy the recognized Heir of Slytherin.
  • Hermione used the Spellbook to strengthen Young Voldy, who managed to pick up a quill and use simple magic.
  • Hermione asked Young Voldy whether he knew where the Room of Requirement was and how to open it.
  • Hermione and Luna confronted Lockhart, and Hermione offered him a choice between claiming credit for defeating Voldemort and dying in the Chamber of Secrets.
  • Lockhart chose Hermione’s first plan, agreeing to become Hogwarts’s hero, resign from his teaching post, and pursue a Ministry career.

Ch. 104The Map Chamber and the Missing School History

Hermione collected basilisk remains and the destroyed Diary, then learned from Little Voldemort about a hidden chamber beneath Hogwarts tied to ancient magic and erased history. She entered the Map Chamber and discovered a book containing the missing portion of Hogwarts’ history.

  • Hermione collected basilisk fangs and blood, gave Luna the destroyed Diary, and left Luna to clean up while Lockhart accepted his fate.
  • Hermione questioned Little Voldemort about ancient magic and learned that a Hogwarts headmaster had mentioned a hidden place connected to an event a hundred years earlier, whose records had been erased.
  • Hermione opened a concealed stairway beneath the Astronomy Tower with Alohomora and followed it with Little Voldemort to an ancient magical door.
  • The door drew Hermione into the Map Chamber, where she found the four Keepers’ portraits empty and a book on the central platform.
  • Hermione read the book and recognized it as the missing portion of Hogwarts’ history.

Ch. 105Ancient Magic

Hermione found the ancient magic sealed beneath a valley near Hogwarts and absorbed it into her Spellbook, gaining four abilities. In Marvel, she interrupted the fight between Tony, Rhodey, and Ivan Vanko by stripping Ivan’s armor apart with a spell.

  • Hermione used a school history book to locate the mine where ancient magic had been sealed a hundred years earlier.
  • Hermione blasted open the mine entrance, entered its deepest chamber, and let the Spellbook absorb the black-and-red magical light.
  • Hermione gained the ancient magic abilities Element, Silence, Strength, and Link, then tested her elemental form and invisible force.
  • Hermione traveled toward Stark Tower to collect supplies but diverted to the explosion and arrived at Tony and Rhodey’s battle with Ivan Vanko.

Tony raced to save Pepper from the Iron Soldier explosion, but Hermione’s Golden Snitch necklace shielded her. When Tony and Pepper returned to Stark Tower, they learned Hermione had just flown away as a sinister gust after asking about a delivery from S.H.I.E.L.D.

  • Ivan Vanko insisted that the Iron Soldier armor was built by Hammer Industries and warned Tony that the Iron Soldiers would self-destruct.
  • Tony spotted Pepper near the wreckage and urged her to run, but the Iron Soldier exploded before she could escape.
  • Pepper survived because Hermione’s Golden Snitch necklace created a magical shield, and Tony told her Hermione might be back from Asgard.
  • Pepper persuaded Tony to return to Stark Tower so they could check on Hermione.
  • Happy told Tony and Pepper that Hermione had asked whether S.H.I.E.L.D. had delivered anything, then turned into a sinister gust and flew away.

Ch. 107Oh no, Nick Fury's been captured by a monster!

  • Sitwell told Hermione that Hydra had infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D., named Alexander Pierce as its leader, and admitted he belonged to the organization.
  • Sitwell asked Hermione for protection, explaining that Hydra and S.H.I.E.L.D.’s dealings with aliens had made him fear for his life.

At Stark Tower, Hermione reunited with Pepper and explained that the basilisk threat at Hogwarts had been dealt with, while Tony continued working underwater on the tower’s reactor.

Ch. 120Helicarrier

Hermione recognized that Loki’s scepter was important and agreed to help S.H.I.E.L.D. find the Tesseract in exchange for triple the materials and the scepter. At the Helicarrier, she entertained Maria Hill with magical snacks as Steve Rogers arrived, while Banner reacted to her with fear.

  • Hermione explained that the Chitauri were an invasion-minded alien race led by the Other and had no fixed homeworld.

Ch. 122Hermione's little magic class: Infinity Stones

Hermione explained that activating the Tesseract had broadcast its location across the universe, likely drawing the Chitauri and other threats to Earth. After examining Loki’s Scepter, she revealed that it contained the Mind Stone and identified the Tesseract as the Space Stone.

  • Hermione described the Chitauri as numerous but technologically limited, with Leviathans as their strongest frontline weapons.
  • Hermione told Fury that activating the Tesseract without magical protection had sent a signal throughout the universe and warned that the Chitauri might be only the first wave.

On the Helicarrier, the Mind Stone Scepter fueled a growing argument until an attack shook the ship, leaving Fury to rush away while Hermione remained protected by her Magic Shield.

  • Loki recounted his journey through the Void and asked Hermione if she could save Asgard, Frigga, and secure him the throne; Hermione promised help in exchange for his obedience.
  • Hermione entered the laboratory and found Tony and Fury arguing over S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Tesseract weapons program, while Thor blamed the weapons for drawing Loki and the Chitauri to Earth.
  • Hermione sensed the Mind Stone Scepter influencing everyone's tempers and realized Loki was using it to provoke conflict.
