Steve and Natasha tried to stop Hydra’s Project Insight as the Sky Carriers launched, with Tony helping Steve attack one carrier while Natasha confronted Pierce at the Triskelion. Pierce claimed Hermione could not save herself, and a young man in black robes suddenly appeared before Natasha.
Natasha revealed that Tom Marvolo Riddle, a Ministry of Magic official, was working with Pierce and had magically enhanced Hydra’s Helicarriers. When Hermione arrived at the battle, Fury realized the Helicarrier crisis had been engineered to draw her out, and she was the true target.
Hermione confronted Riddle, a former Hogwarts upperclassman who led the Ministry of Magic’s forces against her. Riddle trapped her in a giant magic circle and ordered a coordinated attack, leaving her shield cracking under the barrage.
Hermione explained that the Ministry of Magic and Hydra had trapped her in a Magic-Suppressing Array that drained her magic and absorbed attacks, while Riddle justified targeting her as a threat to the Wizarding World. As her shield continued to weaken, Hermione insisted her magic could withstand the array.
Hermione overloaded the Magic-Nullifying Array, destroying the Helicarriers, then defeated Riddle in a duel, though he escaped by Apparition. Afterward, Natasha stopped Pierce from acting but discovered he had uploaded S.H.I.E.L.D.'s classified files and information about Hermione.
Luna Lovegood rescued Coulson, May, and Skye from a black-robed wizard attacking Hub Base, then Victoria Hand revealed that Hydra and the Ministry of Magic had launched an attack on S.H.I.E.L.D. The chapter left Coulson and May stunned by the news that a young wizard had destroyed three Helicarriers and defeated Tom Riddle and eighteen senior Aurors.
Luna revealed that Hermione had sent her to protect Coulson’s team, then exposed Garrett’s attempt to attack them. After Luna stopped his soldiers, Garrett was identified as the Clairvoyant.
Luna revealed that she had bluffed Garrett and his men, then Hermione returned and killed the Hydra agents. After Hermione warned that war with the Ministry of Magic might begin soon, the Avengers debated a prophecy predicting that a powerful Dark Witch would enslave all life, and Tony rejected the idea that it meant Hermione.
Tony defended Hermione when Fury raised the need for contingencies, and Natasha concluded that S.H.I.E.L.D. had to support Hermione against the Ministry of Magic. In the Hogwarts hidden realm, Hermione explained to Tom and Luna that she planned to divide people into rival factions so they would fight and work for her interests.
Hermione returned to Asgard after Thor summoned her and agreed to help him travel to Muspelheim to stop Surtur in exchange for an Asgardian spaceship and star charts. She discovered that Frigga knew Loki was impersonating Odin and cooperating with him.
Hermione learned from Frigga that Odin was dying and had agreed to step down, leaving Loki to prepare to rule Asgard. She then accompanied Thor to Muspelheim, where they confronted Surtur, and Hermione destroyed him before he could fulfill the prophecy.
Hermione realized Surtur would not truly die while the Eternal Flame remained intact, then stayed in Asgard to learn to pilot and modify a spaceship. After the Spellbook finished analyzing the Space Stone and Mind Stone, she returned to Hogwarts during the Triwizard Tournament selection and asked to enter, but Dumbledore said she was too young.
Hermione returned to Hogwarts for the Triwizard Tournament’s champion selection and recognized that Barty Crouch Jr. had entered Harry’s name in the Goblet of Fire. Snape revealed that Bellatrix Lestrange had escaped Azkaban, explaining how Crouch Jr. could have regained his freedom as Harry faced the hostility of the crowd.
Harry Potter was forced to compete in the Triwizard Tournament after the Goblet of Fire selected him, while Hermione Granger was appointed special safety officer. In Dumbledore's office, Hermione and Snape agreed Harry had not entered his own name and wondered who had put him in danger.
Hermione became Harry’s safety officer for the Triwizard Tournament and returned to Hogwarts, where she overshadowed Moody’s lesson on the Unforgivable Curses. After class, she went back to Marvel to deal with the Orb before the first task.
Hermione’s journey to Xandar was interrupted when her ship collided with a Ravager warship commanded by Yondu Udonta. After both ships failed to damage each other, Hermione teleported onto the Ravagers’ bridge and confronted Yondu.
Hermione appeared aboard Yondu’s ship, killed Taserface with Fiendfyre, and stopped Yondu from attacking with his Yaka Arrow. She claimed the Ravagers had damaged her ship and demanded five billion credits, leaving them stunned.
Hermione forced Yondu and the Ravagers to promise her the proceeds from the Orb in exchange for their lives, then claimed their ship as collateral. She opened the airlock and began sucking the bridge’s air into space, leaving the Ravagers in immediate danger.
Hermione forced Yondu and the Ravagers to take her to Xandar to retrieve the Orb, terrifying them with a lethal prank and a threat. As the ship arrived, Yondu and Kraglin realized she was the feared Kale Witch and that Peter Quill’s connection to Earth might help them.
Hermione brought Yondu to Xandar aboard her ship, where Nova Corps defenses recognized her Asgardian diplomatic credentials and escorted her to a VIP landing area. She arrived to meet a senior Nova Corps officer, while the chapter left their meeting yet to begin.
Hermione arrived on Xandar as an envoy and revealed her magical power after Nova General Roman mistook Yondu for her captor. While waiting to meet Nova Prime, Hermione learned that the galaxy had given her the unwanted nickname “Cabbage Witch,” and Nova Prime arrived at the lounge.
Hermione brought Yondu and the Ravager prisoners to Xandar, then used her magic to punish the crew members who had abandoned him and locked Kraglin away. Kraglin and the surviving Ravagers pledged their loyalty as Hermione asked whether they still planned to run.
Hermione brought Yondu’s Ravagers to Xandar under Nova Corps supervision, while a cloaked watcher reported the unexpected alliance. A month later, Peter Quill’s attempt to keep the Orb for himself sparked a street fight that ended with the Orb at a little girl’s feet.
Hermione took the Orb from Quill and opened it, revealing a doll instead of the powerful artifact Gamora feared. When Yondu arrived with Nova Corps soldiers, he recognized Hermione and knelt to address her as the Lady Witch.
Hermione captured Gamora, Quill, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot on Xandar and let Quill be taken to prison, using the Orb to draw out those hunting it. She then asked Yondu if he knew Ego.
