Hermione and Dumbledore’s illusion tricked Peter Pettigrew into confessing to betraying Harry’s parents and attempting to kill Harry, Ron, and Sirius, clearing Sirius’s name. Harry reunited with Sirius, though Hermione’s teasing left Harry and Ron publicly embarrassed.
Hermione discovered that the Aether, the Reality Stone, had infected Jane Foster and opened a portal to Asgard so Thor could seek her treatment. Odin examined Jane and grew wary of the powerful force inside her as Hermione identified it as the Aether.
Hermione revealed that Jane carried the Aether, which was draining her life and signaled the Dark Elves’ return, while explaining that safely removing it would take too long. As Jane remained in danger, Frigga asked Hermione to help Thor mature, and Sif learned what had happened to Jane.
The Dark Elves invaded Asgard, but Hermione destroyed their attacking force with Fiendfyre and realized their assault was a distraction to reach Jane. Hermione stopped Malekith from killing Frigga, while Kurse overwhelmed Thor.
Hermione killed Kurse, protected the group from Malekith’s Black Hole Grenades, and proposed a plan to save Jane by pursuing Malekith on Svartalfheim. She decided to go herself and asked Odin to approve Loki as her guide.
Hermione freed Loki, took Jane to Svartalfheim, and forced Malekith to extract the Aether, which she turned into the Reality Stone. After Hermione left Loki and Jane to escape the Dark Elves, they were discovered, and a warrior took aim at Jane.
Hermione and Loki staged Loki’s death while she sent Jane back to Thor and continued after Malekith. Thor believed Jane’s account and grieved for Loki, while Skye began to suspect Hermione had powers and a connection to Thor.
During the Celestial Convergence, monsters poured through portals into the Nine Realms and Malekith arrived with the Aether, overwhelming Thor and the human forces. The Aether’s advance stopped at a mysterious patch of sky, revealing a vast castle behind it.
Hogwarts appeared through a spatial rift as the Aether spread across Midgard, and Professors McGonagall, Snape, and Flitwick arrived to stop its advance. The professors began reversing the darkness, while Malekith demanded to know what lay beyond the rift.
Thor and Coulson sought help from the Hogwarts professors as Malekith spread darkness across the world, but the professors refused to leave the spatial node unless Malekith was killed. The professors then sensed something from Hogwarts Castle.
Hermione returned to Hogwarts after being lost across the Nine Realms, where she learned that Malekith had merged with the Aether and was attacking the school. As magical creatures fought the Dark Elves, Hermione prepared to confront Malekith, who declared himself invincible before the professors dismissed him as mentally ill.
Hermione and three Hogwarts professors defeated Malekith and contained the Reality Stone, ending the battle. After the professors returned to Hogwarts with the Stone, Hermione revived Thor, who prepared to return to Asgard to report Loki’s fate.
After Hermione stopped the Dark Elves’ invasion, Tom revealed how he had secretly staged the convincing Hogwarts and wizard performance. The world reacted to Hermione’s public debut with worship and fear, while Skye celebrated learning that her idol was the witch.
Coulson announced that the S.H.I.E.L.D. Team had located Ian Quinn and was preparing to capture him. Hermione revealed her role in stopping Aldrich Killian and enchanted the team’s guns with Stunning Spells before they moved out on the mission.
Hermione helped Coulson and Ward examine a mysterious device, then asked Tony to identify it. The chapter ended when May reported that Skye had been shot and urgently needed treatment.
Hermione saved Skye from a gunshot wound and joined Coulson to meet John Garrett and Trip. Garrett learned that Hermione was staying aboard the Bus, then reacted with surprise when Coulson said Skye had fully recovered.
Hermione saved Skye and helped S.H.I.E.L.D. force Ian Quinn to reveal that the Clairvoyant had targeted Coulson to uncover the secret of his resurrection. After Coulson described the Clairvoyant’s uncanny intelligence, Hermione said perfect prediction was impossible even for a seer, then shocked the team by mentioning Gellert Grindelwald’s power.
Hermione explained that Grindelwald had led a global wizarding civil war and was powerful enough to threaten entire cities, until Dumbledore defeated him. She described how wizards concealed magical disasters from Muggles, and Skye began to question what Hermione meant by calling it the First Wizarding War.
Hermione ruled out precognition and supernatural surveillance, leading Skye and Coulson to realize the Clairvoyant was likely a high-ranking S.H.I.E.L.D. mole using stolen information. The discussion turned to GH325, the serum that had revived Coulson, and Hermione said she knew about it.
Hermione revealed that Skye had Kree ancestry and was an Inhuman, then used the Obelisk to awaken her vibration powers. After helping Skye control them, Hermione returned to Hogwarts, where Snape took her to meet Daily Prophet interviewer Rita Kist.
Hermione agreed to an interview with Rita Skeeter, who tried to trap her into giving sensational answers. As Rita accused Hermione of colluding with the Dark Lord, Hermione stayed calm and hinted that Rita’s imagination was limited.
Hermione told Rita Skeeter an absurd story about being a transmigrator who controlled Voldemort, then grew furious when Rita printed only a distorted version. Hermione arrived at Rita’s home with Gilderoy Lockhart and Ethan Hunt to confront her about the article.
Hermione confronted Rita Skeeter for distorting her account, then confirmed that her claims about colluding with Voldemort were true. After Voldemort revealed himself, Hermione tortured Rita and warned her to report the truth accurately.
Hermione forced Rita Skeeter to keep publishing increasingly outrageous stories, then turned her into a Horcrux and left her in Lockhart's hands. Back in the Marvel world, Hermione rescued Natasha and Steve from S.H.I.E.L.D. forces and learned that Hydra had infiltrated the organization.
Natasha and Steve discovered that Hermione had mistaken S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Hydra organization for the mythological nine-headed monster, then explained Hydra’s infiltration and Project Insight. Hermione showed little concern about the human conspiracy, and Natasha and Steve left to decide how to handle it themselves.
