Hermione learned that Quill had escaped to Knowhere and set out with Yondu to find Ego, who possessed something she wanted. Meanwhile, Quill and his companions brought the Orb to Tivan, who revealed it held the Power Stone, and Gamora admitted she had been sent by Thanos to obtain it.
Tivan explained that most Infinity Stones were held by powerful figures, while Quill realized the Kale Witch had deliberately let him escape with the Orb. Tivan ordered Knowhere onto maximum alert, but the Kale Witch appeared and crushed its defensive cannons.
Hermione defeated Tivan’s defenses on Knowhere and forced him to surrender the Orb containing the Power Stone, but Ronan arrived to claim it. Before either could take control, Karina touched the exposed Stone and unleashed a violent explosion.
Ronan seized the Power Stone and fused it with his warhammer, unleashing a devastating blast across Knowhere. Ebony Maw fled while Ronan turned his new power toward Hermione and the others.
Hermione used the Reality Stone to turn Ronan’s attack into bubbles and let him leave Knowhere with the Power Stone. When Quill and Gamora challenged her decision, she struck them down and prepared to kill them before Yondu begged her to spare them.
Hermione revealed that she had arranged for Yondu to protect Quill and Gamora, then explained that she had let Ronan escape so she could save Xandar and build support for the Witch Cult. As Ronan prepared to destroy Xandar with the Power Stone, Hermione appeared and interrupted him by asking where the Pizza Hut was.
Hermione defeated Ronan on Xandar, took the Power Stone, and was hailed as the Witch for saving the planet. Nova Prime thanked her and asked her to keep the Stone safe.
Thanos arrived on Xandar and demanded that Hermione meet him on Titan, while taking Gamora captive. Quill begged Hermione to help rescue Gamora, but she asked why she should take him.
Hermione brought Quill and his companions to Titan to meet Thanos, who greeted her with a show of respect. After Quill demanded to know where Gamora was, Hermione knocked him unconscious, and she learned that Thanos considered Nebula little more than Gamora’s training partner.
Thanos explained his plan to Hermione and invited her to help him bring balance to the universe by erasing half of all life. Hermione questioned his reasoning but realized he wanted her help to gather the Infinity Stones.
Hermione rejected Thanos’s offer and fought Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight after they insulted her, overwhelming them with her magic. Thanos stopped Corvus from attacking and asked Hermione to heal Proxima Midnight, leaving her response unresolved.
Hermione offered Thanos the Space Stone in exchange for the Soul Stone and revealed she already possessed five Infinity Stones. She gave him the Space Stone as a deposit, easing his fears about her intentions.
Hermione struck a temporary alliance with Thanos, secretly using him as a fall guy while she planned to collect the Infinity Stones and their energy. After leaving the Dark Aster, she suddenly remembered Hogwarts and returned to find Snape rebuking her for neglecting the Triwizard Tournament.
Hermione returned to Hogwarts and helped set the Triwizard Tournament’s first task in motion after Sirius’s objections delayed it. She then gave Malfoy an upgraded Polyjuice Potion that transformed him into a girl, warning that the change might be permanent without her antidote.
Hermione used her Reality Stone-enhanced Polyjuice Potion to transform Draco into a little girl, then watched as Harry introduced her to Ginny as a new transfer student. The first task of the Triwizard Tournament began, and after Krum and Fleur retrieved their Golden Eggs, Cedric prepared to compete.
Cedric and Harry retrieved their Golden Eggs from their dragons, while Hermione revealed her ancient Element Transformation magic to the stunned spectators. After Harry escaped the Hungarian Horntail and won the crowd’s cheers, Hermione admitted she had raised the dragon.
Hermione revealed that the Hungarian Horntail Harry faced was her pet and admitted she had arranged help for his task. She then disclosed that all four dragons belonged to her, leaving Harry, Ginny, and Draco stunned.
Harry asked Hermione to solve the Golden Egg’s clue, and she revealed that the second task would take place in the Black Lake and involve merpeople. At the lake, Beauxbatons Champion Fleur Delacour approached Hermione with an unexpected request for a signed photo.
Fleur Delacour asked Hermione for a signed photograph, and Viktor Krum invited her to the Yule Ball, but Hermione rejected him by challenging him to beat her in a fight. When Cedric arrived with Cho Chang, Harry realized she was with his friend, and Draco’s attempt to cheer him up left them both in an awkward embrace.
Hermione returned to the Dark Aster, where she confronted Quill’s despair and revealed that his father, Ego, was a Celestial who had likely caused his mother’s death. Quill chose to avenge her, and Hermione prepared to help him kill Ego.
Quill reunited with Ego on the living planet, where Ego trained him in his Celestial powers and revealed his plan to consume the universe. The chapter ended with Ego confessing that he had killed Quill’s mother by putting a tumor inside her.
Quill secretly learned to master Ego’s Celestial power while pretending to support his plan, then joined forces with Hermione to attack Ego. As Ego began reclaiming the borrowed power, Quill used it to rip open the planet and expose Ego’s enormous brain.
Hermione killed Ego by striking his exposed Core Brain with the Killing Curse, then helped Quill absorb Ego’s remaining divine power. After leveling up to six, Hermione watched Quill take control of the planet and wonder if he could finally overpower her.
After Hermione killed Ego, Quill submitted to her and followed her back to the Dark Aster with the unconscious Mantis. Hermione weighed her new power and plans for gathering soul energy before a radiant woman mistook her for Ronan and demanded to know what she was doing there.
Hermione met Carol Danvers aboard the Dark Aster and explained how she had killed Ronan and taken control of the Ravagers. Carol recognized Goose and revealed that she was searching for a safe home for the Skrulls, possibly on Earth.
