Background / History

Ning Fengzhi was regarded as Bing Jiu's father during her childhood and was the father of Ning Rongrong. Bing Jiu’s early resentment toward him became a central motive behind her alignment with Spirit Hall and her eventual campaign against the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect 3 8 13.

When Bing Jiu later met him as Spirit Hall’s Saintess, Ning Fengzhi did not recognize her true identity. Upon learning that Bing Jiu and Ning Rongrong possessed a Martial Soul Fusion Technique, he became interested in forming an alliance with Spirit Hall 27.

At Ning Rongrong’s coming-of-age events, Ning Fengzhi admitted that he had consumed the Aromatic Silk Beauty intended for Rongrong, dismissing objections by asserting his authority as her father. His conduct further demonstrated Bing Jiu’s view of him as selfish and unworthy of his position 108.

During Spirit Hall’s assault on the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, Bing Jiu revealed herself as Ning Jiujiu. Ning Fengzhi attempted to kill her using Soul Guidance Devices, unaware that she had sabotaged them; the devices instead killed his own disciples and rendered the sect’s defenses ineffective 111.

Sword Chenxin subsequently revealed that Bing Jiu was not Ning Fengzhi’s biological daughter 112. Bing Jiu spared Ning Fengzhi’s life but used the Clear Sky Pagoda to strip away his Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda Martial Soul, ending the foundation of his power and influence 113.
