Background / History

Qian Daoliu identified Ning Jiujiu's Clear Sky Pagoda as a legendary Martial Soul and invited her to join Spirit Hall as its Saintess. The position was presented as belonging to the strongest member of Spirit Hall's younger generation 3.

Six years later, Spirit Hall's Divine Punishment Saintess, Bing Jiu, began personally purging corruption within the organization. Purple-Robed Bishop Miles was executed for betrayal, and the corrupt Gengxin City branch was eliminated; the victims were publicly labeled “Traitors to the People” 4 5. Spirit Hall then compensated Gengxin City's blacksmiths with Gold Soul Coins and rare metals, while Bing Jiu recruited Lou Gao through an apology and Soul Tool blueprints 5.

Under Bing Jiu's influence, the organization conducted further internal inspections. More than one hundred violating bishops in the Heaven Dou branch were executed during her inspection, while Platinum Bishop Salas was spared after witnessing the punishment 42. The Worship Hall maintained a separate priority: its strongest members were generally barred from continental disputes so they could oppose Evil Soul Masters 6.

Spirit Hall expanded its social and political base by constructing eight cities, accepting migrants, and providing relief during famine. Its citizens credited the organization with free grain, free Martial Soul awakenings, and greater opportunities for commoners than the two empires offered 79 116 132. Bing Jiu later announced a one-year tax reduction across Spirit Hall-controlled cities 117.

Following the destruction of the Clear Sky Sect and the other Upper Three Sects, Spirit Hall seized Heaven Dou through a planned coup and popular support. Heaven Dou was consolidated under Bing Jiu's leadership within three months 99 116 132 133. Bing Jiu subsequently declared the creation of the Spirit Hall Empire, and Spirit Hall's forces conquered Star Luo City, ending the Star Luo Empire 134 146.

Saintess recognition

Spirit Hall has three major divisions. Recognition from two divisions is sufficient for the title of Saintess, while recognition from all three creates the Saintess presented by Spirit Hall to the continent. Only Bibi Dong and Bing Jiu are stated to have received recognition from all three divisions 47.
