Background / History

Tang San initially presents Tang Sect hidden weapons to Ning Fengzhi and Bing Jiu, confidently wagering his Twenty-Four Moonlit Bridges against Bing Jiu's weapon. Her Soul Guidance Hand Cannon decisively outperforms his creations, forcing him to surrender the storage treasure after losing the bet. His desperation to keep it also hurts Xiao Wu. 28 29

At Shrek Academy, Tang San's conflict with Ning Rongrong escalates after he absorbs an immortal herb intended for her and physically assaults her. The dispute brings Ning Fengzhi, Sword Douluo, and Bone Douluo to the academy; Tang San is beaten and humiliated in the aftermath. 53 54

His rivalry with Bing Jiu becomes entangled with ambition and jealousy. He rejects her offer of three million Gold Spirit Coins, declaring that he will conquer her and achieve continental supremacy. He subsequently relies on the Clear Sky Hammer and Eight Spider Soul Bone to defeat Elephant Armor Academy alone, then uses concealed golden needles against opponents from the Four Elemental Academies. 55 56

Following Shrek Academy's decline, Tang San's conduct alienates several companions. He lashes out at Xiao Wu amid their poverty and public humiliation, while Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing become distrustful of him. 58 60 Tang Hao later gives him a hundred-thousand-year spirit bone left by his mother, and Tang San upgrades his spirit into the Blue Silver Emperor. 62 63

At the Soul Master Competition finals, Tang San defeats Hu Liena and Xie Yue's martial soul fusion technique through tactics that lead to accusations of poisoning. His later confrontation with Bing Jiu ends disastrously: she cripples him with Dragon Beard Needles, and later removes his right leg containing the hundred-thousand-year spirit bone. 72 75 77

After arriving in Slaughter City, Tang San seeks power and revenge against Bing Jiu. While she operates under Hu Liena's identity, she influences him toward ruthless choices, including pursuing Xiao Wu and her fellow hundred-thousand-year soul beasts for their spirit rings and soul bones. 85 87 88 He later obtains the Slaughter God's Domain but is expelled from the Clear Sky Sect after stealing its treasury. 94

Tang San eventually reunites with Xiao Wu, now a hundred-thousand-year soul beast, but privately considers making her his soul ring. He later attempts to absorb both Xiao Wu and Hu Liena for greater power, only to be severely wounded by Bing Jiu. 124 127

After an apparent death, Tang San revives possessed by an evil spirit. He seizes the Papal Hall, kills bishops, and claims the title of continent's true king. His continued revival and rapid growth establish him as a major threat to Martial Soul City. 158 168 186

Personality

Tang San is proud, competitive, and intensely preoccupied with proving his superiority. Defeat by Bing Jiu's soul-guided weapon and repeated public humiliations fuel his determination, but also deepen his hostility toward those he sees as rivals. 29 54 55

He is tactically capable and willing to use deception or concealed weapons to win. This includes injuring opponents with golden needles and exploiting the confusion around Hu Liena and Xie Yue's defeat. 56 72

His pursuit of power increasingly overrides loyalty. He treats Xiao Wu's hundred-thousand-year soul beast status as an opportunity for personal advancement, attempts to manipulate her affection when endangered, and later intends to absorb her. 88 124 125 127
