Arc 9The Rise of the Pentagram
Shawn consolidated control over the Death Eaters, pursued the truth about Voldemort and the Fawleys, and took Harry to meet Sirius in Azkaban. After Old Fawley arranged a mass prison escape, Shawn renamed the Death Eaters the Pentagram and tested his followers’ loyalty with Fiendfyre.
- Shawn gathered the Death Eaters, revealed himself as Slytherin’s heir, punished deserters, and promised reforms while establishing five departments under his chosen leaders.
- Shawn learned that Harry carried a fragment of Voldemort’s soul and vowed to save Harry and retrieve Lily’s soul, while Snape pledged obedience and continued helping Shawn.
- Shawn discovered that Greyback had been recruited by a mysterious faction and investigated the Greengrasses’ blood curse, which Snape warned was turning their daughter’s soul into a snake.
- Shawn welcomed Harry to the Black family home for Christmas and revealed that Sirius had been the Secret Keeper who betrayed Harry’s parents, then took Harry to visit him in Azkaban.
- Harry confronted Sirius, who said Peter Pettigrew had betrayed James and Lily, and asked Shawn to help secure his release while Shawn promised to find evidence.
- Old Fawley arranged for Sirius and other prisoners to escape Azkaban and sent them abroad, while Shawn ordered a search and kept his suspicions from Harry.
- At Malfoy Manor, Shawn identified the current Dark Lord as Tom Gaunt, rallied the remaining Death Eaters around his reforms, and renamed their organization the Pentagram.
- Shawn tested the Pentagram with three rings of Fiendfyre, and Wenge passed the first two before Shawn stopped him from entering the third, and several others died attempting the second ring.
