• Neph met Leonard, confirmed Klein was the Goddess’s Blessed, and called herself the God of Winter before telling Adam about her memories of a book depicting Klein.

Klein and Neph navigated threats from Amon, Ince Zangwill, and the Primordial Moon while Klein pursued his plans in West Balam. Neph then took control of Palenque Tasibu’s Numinous Episcopate base and received an order to reunite the Episcopate, but learned that its angel Haiter remained beyond her power.

• Klein brought Danitz into the Tarot Club, sought Arrodes’s advice about the Sealing Core, and discussed selling arms in West Balam with Neph and Colonel Galvin.
• Neph identified Alex as a likely Primordial Moon believer, warned Emlyn, and helped Klein investigate Alex’s connection to the Numinous Episcopate.
• Neph hosted a Tarot Club discussion in her Pure White Space and staged a false collapse of the palace, prompting Klein to warn her not to repeat the prank.

Neph advanced to Sequence 2 and learned the truth about her origins from the True Creator, while Klein continued preparing for his own advancement. As the War of the Gods approached, Neph sought the God of Steam and Machinery’s support and the Church of Evernight presented her as the Goddess’s twin sister.

• Neph followed Klein and Azik into the confrontation with Ince Zangwill, watched Klein kill him, and learned that her Sequence 3 ritual required her to surrender her memories and body to Ouroboros.
• Neph advanced to Pure White Walker, discovered that her Pure White Space could preserve people and objects as memories, and gave Klein the Deceased God’s title and clues about his advancement.
• After a ritual sacrificed everyone at her inn, Neph became the Church of Evernight’s proclaimed God of Winter and drank the Child of Winter potion in the Realm of Night-Scented Herb.
• Neph visited the True Creator, who revealed that her mother was the last child of the Mother Goddess of Depravity and the Original Creator, and that Neph had inherited Authority over Memory.
• Neph decided to seek the God of Steam and Machinery’s support, handed the Haiter matter to the Church of Evernight, and traveled to Backlund to meet Bornova Gustav and contact Stiano.
• Neph urged Stiano not to side with the Eternal Blazing Sun, warned him that Adam had treated the True Creator, and said Mr. Fool supported her side.
• Klein heard Bishop Elektra describe the Winter Goddess as the Evernight Goddess’s twin, then asked Neph whether he should call her Aunt.

Neph helped Bernadette and the survivors of Groselle’s Travels while revealing more about the Apocalypse, the Ancient Sun God, and her own past. As George III prepared to become the Black Emperor, Neph and Klein confronted the danger and Neph sought answers from Adam about fate and Amon.

• Neph helped Bernadette reach Roselle’s mausoleum, where Roselle revealed his corruption by the Primordial Moon and asked to be sealed.
• Neph explained the Pillars and the Outer Deities to Bernadette, who advanced to Sequence 4 and agreed to monitor the Church of Steam and Machinery.
• Neph freed Groselle, Snoman, Shatas, Longzel, and Mobet from the Kingdom of Memory, then took them to a deserted island and arranged for their survival.
• Neph led Snoman through the Forsaken Land of the Gods, where he began a Pilgrimage and learned that she was providing for its people.
