Ch. 21Plans for the Next Step

Mo Yan completed a powerful crystal ball made from the four elements and spells, while his angelic apparition guided Impmon through questions about evolution and purpose. Mo Yan left for the Network Management Bureau, and the apparition wondered whether Mo Yan’s research and Impmon’s Demon Lord data would lead them down dangerous paths.

  • Mo Yan explained to Impmon that his consciousness had become collective during his research, and the angelic apparition urged Impmon to consider the meaning and cost of evolution.
  • The angelic apparition soothed Impmon as memories of Ai and Mako surfaced, prompting Impmon to consider returning to look at his past.
  • Mo Yan completed a crystal ball whose balanced four-element data made it exceptionally durable and capable of repairing itself when damaged.
  • Mo Yan invited the angelic apparition to leave with him, but the apparition stayed to care for Impmon and warned that he could bring Impmon back if necessary.
  • After Mo Yan departed, the angelic apparition wondered whether Impmon would become a Demon Lord and whether Mo Yan’s pursuit of evolution had made people and Digimon into experimental subjects.
  • Mo Yan flew toward the Network Management Bureau building that housed Director Yamaki’s Hypnos System.

Ch. 22Knightmon

Mo Yan infiltrated the Twin Towers and prepared a magic setup to use Yamaki’s extermination plan to forge a blade capable of breaking through to Ultimate. After returning to the park in Knightmon form, he reunited with Takato Matsuki, Guilmon, and Impmon.

  • Mo Yan examined the Twin Towers’ equipment and concluded that Yamaki’s extermination plan would worsen the barrier, draw stronger Digimon into the real world, and stimulate DigiDeath’s revival.
  • Mo Yan hid the Crystal Ball in dimensional space above the extermination plan’s generation pool, placed Wizardmon’s DigiCore inside it, and inscribed supporting magic circles.
  • Mo Yan returned to the park, told the angelic phantom that his plan was ready, and changed into Knightmon before Takato Matsuki arrived.
  • Takato Matsuki read Knightmon’s information from his D-Ark and asked what to call him, so Mo Yan told him to use Mo Yan.
  • Mo Yan startled Guilmon with a pebble, then dragged Impmon out for his overdue morning run and invited Takato Matsuki and Guilmon to join them.
  • Takato Matsuki left for class after asking Mo Yan to look after Guilmon, and Guilmon joined the run.

Ch. 23Lightning Five-Hit Whip

Mo Yan put Impmon and Guilmon through a brutal morning run using his electric whip. Impmon experimented with magic-power body stimulation, and the chapter ended with Mo Yan reaching for the exhausted Impmon while Guilmon watched curiously.

  • Impmon and Guilmon arrived late for their run, and Mo Yan drove them onto the track with his electric whip.
  • Mo Yan whipped Guilmon and Impmon whenever they fell behind, pushing them to run faster.
  • After a lash, Impmon used magic power to stimulate his body and overtook Guilmon, while Mo Yan noticed the dangerous technique.
  • Impmon and Guilmon repeatedly overtook each other and endured more lashes until Impmon's magic power ran out and he collapsed.
  • Mo Yan teased Impmon and reached toward him, making Impmon fear another painful training session, while Guilmon returned and crouched to watch.

Ch. 24Demon Lord Power Resurfaces

Mo Yan helped Impmon recover and continued training him and Guilmon at a shooting range. Watching Impmon’s fighting spirit awaken purple magic power again, Mo Yan wondered about the source of his demon lord power and resolved to focus on his own evolution while relying on his allies if necessary.

  • Mo Yan massaged Impmon to ease the damage from his magic power and told him to slowly reconnect his scattered data.
  • Guilmon returned with Takato’s bread, and Mo Yan fed Impmon before moving the group to a multi-function shooting range.
  • Impmon attacked a Mechanical Dummy with Dark Night Flame and followed with a Flame Palm, while Guilmon easily defeated his opponents with Guilmon Cannon.
  • Impmon grew more determined as he compared himself with Guilmon, and purple magic power rose around him.
  • Mo Yan considered whether Impmon’s fighting spirit had awakened demon lord power and decided to focus on obtaining his mentor’s data and evolving to Ultimate.

Ch. 25Would you believe me if I said this wasn't an outline?

Mo Yan used the Dark Digicore to copy and refine Impmon’s and Guilmon’s data while Impmon trained, then refused the Gluttony Demon Lord’s invitation to join the Dark Area. After accepting Demon Lord-type data as a gift, Mo Yan continued training the two Digimon and deepened his understanding of darkness.

  • Demon lord power surged through Impmon, and Mo Yan used the Dark Digicore to extract, refine, and return data, interrupting Impmon’s evolution while expanding his foundational data.
  • Mo Yan also copied Guilmon’s data, which the Wicked Demon Dragon noticed but allowed as long as Mo Yan did not cross a line.
  • The Gluttony Demon Lord invited Mo Yan to join the Dark Area after learning he possessed twelve Digicores, including a rare Angel Digicore.
  • Mo Yan refused and showed the Gluttony Demon Lord his Angel Proof from the Realm of the Gods and his mark as Qinglongmon’s apostle.
  • The Gluttony Demon Lord abandoned his interest in Impmon as a seed and gave Mo Yan essential data for Demon Lord-type Digimon, which Mo Yan accepted.
  • Mo Yan trained Impmon and Guilmon and assimilated the gifted data, deepening his understanding of the dark attribute.

Ch. 26Dark Rhapsody

Mo Yan studied the Gluttony Demon Lord’s data and planned a custom dark form to balance his Angel Form, while searching for a source of authority that would not conflict with the Seven Great Demon Lords. His thoughts were interrupted by a powerful surge of data shooting into the sky.

  • Mo Yan compared the Gluttony Demon Lord’s data with dark Digimon data and recalled how the Seven Great Demon Lords had claimed authority over the seven deadly sins.
  • Mo Yan decided that his Dark Digicore needed to support a dark Digimon form strong enough to balance his Angel Form, but he could not challenge the Seven Great Demon Lords for their authority.
  • Mo Yan realized he could design a Demon Lord-type form himself, then considered other possible sources of authority, including Apocalymon and Millenniummon.
  • Mo Yan concluded that he needed a pure darkness capable of uniting with holy power, but found no Digimon that truly mastered darkness.
  • A powerful surge of data shot into the sky and interrupted Mo Yan’s research.

Ch. 27Have You Ever Seen a Broom Fall from the Sky?

Mo Yan watched a pillar of data light rise as Takato Matsuki and Guilmon set out for the Twin Towers to face the approaching Ultimate Digimon. As Mo Yan challenged Impmon’s doubts about the DigiDestined, a witch in red robes descended from the sky on a broom and called out to him.

  • Mo Yan explained to Impmon that human children’s pure hearts could give Digimon the power to evolve, while Guilmon insisted that Takato was kind.
  • Takato Matsuki arrived, saw the pillar of light, and learned from Guilmon and Mo Yan that an Ultimate Digimon was likely coming.
  • Takato Matsuki and Guilmon ran toward the Twin Towers, while Mo Yan stayed behind and asked Impmon whether he wanted to watch.
  • Impmon doubted that Champion-level partners could defeat an Ultimate, and Mo Yan criticized him for not understanding the DigiDestined.
  • A witch in fiery-red wizard robes descended on a broom and asked Mo Yan if he had missed her.

Ch. 28Witchmon's Inventive Ways to Court Death

Witchmon confronted Mo Yan and revealed that she had split herself into two DigiCores through a dangerous experiment, with their teacher's help. Mo Yan was shocked by the risk she had taken and regretted sharing his research on multiple DigiCores with SageMon.

  • Witchmon arrived on her broom and challenged Mo Yan, who recognized her as the rival he had once tried to escape in Witchelny.
  • Witchmon wielded dark power, and Mo Yan warned her that using dark data without proper precautions violated the Wizard's Code.
  • Mo Yan repelled Witchmon's darkness and teleported Impmon away before Impmon could linger to hear their exchange.
  • Witchmon used Double Doppelganger to divide herself into red-robed and black-robed forms, each with a DigiCore.
  • Witchmon told Mo Yan that their teacher had helped her succeed, leaving Mo Yan alarmed and regretful about giving SageMon his research report on multiple DigiCores.

Ch. 29A Gift from SageMon

Mo Yan fought Witchmon in her Darkness Domain and received the mythological and ancient data SageMon had prepared to help him advance his Twelve Digicores. He realized Witchmon had incapacitated Ice Wizardmon to take his place, while she insisted their teacher was unharmed.

  • Mo Yan used Nature Magic: Balanced Environment to grow data plants throughout Witchmon's Darkness Domain and challenged her to think like a wizard rather than rely on brute force.
  • Mo Yan explained that he collected chivalry data to broaden his possible evolutions and balance his rationality, while warning Witchmon that dark data was affecting her personality.
  • Witchmon delivered the initial fragments of mythological data and ancient data that SageMon had gathered for Mo Yan.
  • Mo Yan suspected Witchmon had done something to Ice Wizardmon, and Witchmon admitted she had put him to sleep temporarily.

Ch. 30The Opening Chapter of Light and Darkness

Mo Yan fought Red Witchmon and BlackWitchmon with his ten DigiCores, then turned their attacks into data for an experiment. As Witchmon guarded him, a remarkably pure strand of data began to form within the wheel of light.

  • Mo Yan realized Teacher IceWizardmon had likely allowed Witchmon to put him to sleep, and he decided to teach her a lesson while venting his frustration.
  • Mo Yan used his ten DigiCores to weaken BlackWitchmon’s darkness domain, purify its data, and store the results for his research.
  • Red Witchmon attacked with Fierce Wind Water Vortex, while BlackWitchmon launched Darkness Wave, and Mo Yan countered with Ten Directions Annihilation.
  • Mo Yan’s Ten Directions Annihilation dismantled and absorbed both attacks, refining their data without striking the Witchmons.
  • Witchmon complained that Mo Yan had started experimenting again, then sat back and sent her Little Demon familiar to keep watch.
  • Witchmon sensed an exceptionally pure strand of holy, vast, warm data taking shape within the wheel of light.

Ch. 31The Gradual Progression of Light and Darkness

Mo Yan explained how he had combined Mythical Source Code, Ancient Data, and the power of his ten DigiCores to create new data with contradictory yet harmonious attributes. As the experiment reached its final stage, he altered its commands to give Witchmon a “little good fortune,” and the Holy Ring appeared.

  • Mo Yan told Witchmon how his experiment fused mythical, ancient, and present-day data using ten DigiCores.
  • Witchmon sensed that the emerging data embodied opposing qualities such as life and death, hope and despair, and light and darkness.
  • Mo Yan described how cycling power attributes removed incompatible data and merged what could be combined.
  • Mo Yan glimpsed the possibility that the new data could surpass Authority Power or become a new Authority Power suited to him.
  • Witchmon grew alarmed when Mo Yan became distracted, but Mo Yan changed the experiment’s commands and the Holy Ring appeared.

Ch. 32The Rising Tide of Light and Darkness

Mo Yan used the wheel formed by “Ten Directions Annihilation” and the Holy Ring to inscribe unknown light-aligned data into Witchmon’s DigiCore, observing that her core data upgraded itself rather than evolving. Witchmon regained consciousness and secretly corrupted the data with darkness, causing it to connect to Mo Yan and begin inscribing itself into his data.

  • Mo Yan trapped Witchmon and used the wheel of light to connect unknown data to her, then recorded how it entered her DigiCore.
  • Mo Yan observed Witchmon’s core data absorbing higher-level foreign data and distinguished the process from Digimon evolution.
  • Witchmon regained consciousness, examined her changed data, and secretly used her dark DigiCore to corrupt the unknown data.
  • Witchmon shouted “Face the judgment of darkness!” and reversed the data’s attribute from light to darkness.
  • The dark data ribbons connected to Mo Yan, and fragments of unknown data began inscribing themselves into his data.

Ch. 33Dark Angemon Appears, Mo Yan's Dark Form

Mo Yan used the unknown data and Dark Digicore to create Dark Angemon, a dark counterpart to his Angel Form. When the two forms appeared together, they faced each other without fighting as Mo Yan made the remaining Digicores circle them and both angels released their power.

  • Mo Yan let the dark data ribbons connect, replaced the Dark Digicore in the halo with the Chivalry Digicore, and accelerated the unknown data’s formation.
  • Mo Yan used the Dark Digicore to anchor his data, which gathered into a dark Digi-Egg.
  • Mo Yan found data resembling a dark version of the Holy Ring and formed it into a Dark Ring inside the Digi-Egg.
  • Mo Yan combined the Dark Ring with edited dark angel data and shaped the form into Dark Angemon, a Champion, Virus-attribute Fallen Angel-type Digimon.
  • The dark Digi-Egg shattered, and Dark Angemon appeared as Mo Yan’s Angel Digicore summoned Flame Angemon · Divine Attendant Form.
  • Mo Yan controlled the remaining nine Digicores to circle both angels, who released their power without attacking each other.

Ch. 34The Beginning of Holy-Demon Unity

Mo Yan balanced the powers of light and darkness in his DigiCores, using the Gluttony Demon Lord’s dark data and discovering how each power could transform into the other. He set the two forces into a cycle of pursuit and conversion, beginning his path toward Holy-Demon Unity.

  • Mo Yan used his nine remaining DigiCores to contain the clash between the Angel Digicore and Dark Digicore, then adjusted their powers to bring them into balance.
  • Mo Yan unsealed the Gluttony Demon Lord’s data, strengthening his darkness until it could stand on equal footing with his light.
  • As the powers clashed, Mo Yan studied their data and realized that light and darkness could transform into each other.
  • Mo Yan corrupted a portion of light data with negative emotions, converting it into darkness, then used light data to raise darkness into light.
  • Mo Yan established a cycle in which light pursued and purified darkness while darkness hunted and corrupted light.

Ch. 35Forging the "Flame Sword," Ultimate Evolution in Progress

Wizard Mo Yan used the data vortex created by Yamaki’s Extermination Plan to begin forging his own Flame Sword. He concealed himself when familiar data signatures approached, as Winged Tiger appeared and Takato Matsuki and his companions arrived at the Twin Towers.

  • Yamaki watched the Extermination Plan drag wild Digimon into the vortex and turn them into data, unaware that it was widening the passage between worlds.
  • Wizard Mo Yan emerged from the Wizard DigiCore and used the Crystal Ball to protect himself as he approached the vortex’s center.
  • Wizard Mo Yan assembled the Flame Sword’s preliminary data from the four elements and prepared to finish forging it under the vortex’s pressure.
  • Wizard Mo Yan sensed familiar data signatures, concealed himself, and saw a red figure fly toward Original Self Mo Yan.
  • Winged Tiger appeared on the Twin Towers’ rooftop as Takato Matsuki and his companions arrived outside the building.

Ch. 36TigerVespamon's purpose

Wizard Mo Yan met TigerVespamon, who explained that Qinglongmon had created a separate version of himself using a Divine Jewel and warned that Mo Yan’s broad DigiCore specialization could hinder his progress. TigerVespamon revealed that he had come to help the DigiDestined gain mythological data, especially the future miko, whose potential interested Qinglongmon.

  • Wizard Mo Yan noticed Witchmon and alerted the original Mo Yan that she had arrived in the real world.
  • TigerVespamon detected Wizard Mo Yan and explained that his current form had been created from separated core data using Qinglongmon’s Divine Jewel.
  • TigerVespamon relayed Qinglongmon’s warning that Mo Yan’s path of specializing his DigiCores was powerful but too broad and could slow his progress.
  • TigerVespamon told Wizard Mo Yan that the DigiDestined needed help beyond evolution light to face future disasters.
  • TigerVespamon confirmed that the children’s Digimon needed mythological data, and said Qinglongmon was especially interested in the future miko.

Ch. 37A Similar Yet Different Story

TigerVespamon tested the DigiDestined’s Digimon as part of Qinglongmon’s plan to grant them power, while Wizard Mo Yan struggled to shape chrono digi-alloy into his Flame Sword. As Takato Matsuki and Guilmon synchronized under pressure, Calumon’s Evolution Light triggered their Matrix Evolution.

  • TigerVespamon admitted that his Wizardmon data was highly compatible with Witchmon’s, then watched the children prepare to challenge him.
  • TigerVespamon defeated Kyuubimon’s Fox Flame Dragon, badly injuring her and forcing her to revert to Renamon.
  • Gargomon attacked TigerVespamon with Gatling Gun, but TigerVespamon examined his angel data and knocked him off the rooftop with Confusion.
  • Growlmon arrived to face TigerVespamon as Wizard Mo Yan found that he could not reshape the solid chrono digi-alloy in the data vortex.
  • Takato Matsuki synchronized with Guilmon, and Calumon’s Evolution Light triggered their Matrix Evolution into Great Growlmon.

Ch. 38A New Mission

Wizard Mo Yan used Great Growlmon’s Atomic Blaster to reshape chrono digi-alloy into the Flame Sword while TigerVespamon fought the Demon Dragon. As TigerVespamon’s avatar vanished, he delivered Qinglongmon’s order for Mo Yan to return to the Qinglong Sanctuary for a new mission.

  • Wizard Mo Yan asked TigerVespamon to lure Great Growlmon into firing its Atomic Blaster at him.
  • Wizard Mo Yan used alchemy magic and sword data to forge the Flame Sword from chrono digi-alloy.
  • Great Growlmon’s attack ended, TigerVespamon’s avatar began dissolving, and the children cheered beneath the Twin Towers.
  • TigerVespamon relayed Qinglongmon’s order for Wizard Mo Yan to return to the Qinglong Sanctuary when the children traveled to the Digital World.
  • TigerVespamon said he had seen Angel leave, and Wizard Mo Yan promised to challenge him to a fight when he returned.

Ch. 39Evolution to Ultimate: Grand Mage Beast appears

Wizard Mo Yan used Calumon’s Evolution Light and the data vortex to evolve into Grand Mage Beast. Helicopters gathered to watch him, while the children below prepared to fight again.

  • Wizard Mo Yan unified the data of his crystal ball and Flame Sword, then teleported Calumon to the vortex above the Twin Towers.
  • Wizard Mo Yan asked Calumon for help and used his magic to draw out the power of Evolution Light.
  • Wizard Mo Yan sent Calumon away, absorbed the remaining data in the vortex, and began evolving as dazzling white light dispersed the vortex.
  • Wizard Mo Yan evolved from Wizardmon into Grand Mage Beast, an Ultimate Digimon skilled in magic and swordsmanship.
  • Helicopters gathered around Grand Mage Beast, while the children below the towers prepared to fight again.

Ch. 40Impmon Was Asking for It

Wizard Mo Yan used Spatial Isolation to cut off the Island Nation's military and Land of No Dust to suppress Guilmon and the other Digimon, leaving the children unable to make them digivolve. Impmon appeared among the children and blurted out that Mo Yan's old flame had arrived, then realized Mo Yan was standing behind him.

  • Wizard Mo Yan cast Spatial Isolation, blocking the Island Nation's military and surveillance from reaching the area.
  • Wizard Mo Yan cast Land of No Dust, dispelling the Digimon Card boosts and suppressing Guilmon and the others' power and digivolution.
  • Takato Matsuki, Li Jianliang, and Rika Makino questioned their partners about the spell and their opponent, while the Digimon confirmed they could not digivolve.
  • Impmon appeared behind the children and said Mo Yan had teleported him there because his old flame had shown up.
  • Takato Matsuki and the others pointed behind Impmon, who turned and found Wizard Mo Yan standing there.
