His Supreme Bone is nearly fully integrated, but he still needs deeper understanding of his Double Pupils to glimpse its supreme precious technique. |

| Release of suppressed divine power | 37 38 | Burns blood essence after losing to Shi Qingyun, breaks the restraints on his body and enormous eye manifestation, and regains access to divine power. Unleashes Heaven-Opening; this is a combat escalation, not a confirmed realm advancement. |
Background / History
Shi Yi received the Supreme Bone originally belonging to Shi Hao. When Shi Ziling demanded justice for his son, elders defended Shi Yi on the grounds that killing him would cost the Martial King Manor another genius and jeopardize its future 1.
Over the following years, Shi Yi’s branch grew powerful and suppressed Shi Hao’s lineage. Its supporters nevertheless exercised restraint because Shi Hao’s grandfather, the Great Demon God Shi Zhongtian, had not returned, and Shi Yi had not yet fully matured 2.
Before the Qilin Cave expedition, Shi Yi cultivated with ten Cave Heavens and worked toward understanding both his Double Pupils and the transplanted Supreme Bone. Thinking of Shi Hao briefly brought a complicated expression to his face, but he quickly replaced it with resolve 7.
Appearance
- Double pupils: Each eye contains two pupils nested within one another. Runes and Order Divine Chains move within them against a background of darkness and chaos 7.
- Face and physique: Has a sharply defined face and a powerfully muscled arm exposed during his battle with Shi Qingyun 35 36.
- Bearing: Frequently stands with his hands behind his back, projecting cold confidence and aloofness 8 10.
- Visible Supreme Bone: The bone in his chest can shine brightly enough for its light to penetrate his clothing 7.
Personality
Shi Yi is imperious and intensely confident in his talent. He dismisses a report about another manor genius as meaningless and warns the messenger against bringing him such news again. His authority frightens the black-robed subordinate despite that figure’s higher cultivation realm 7.
He is also deliberate about revealing his strength. During the pursuit in the secret realm, he treats his opponents as opportunities to temper his Dao arts and physique rather than immediately unleashing the full power of his Double Pupils 29 30.
Losing control of a situation provokes his anger. He attacks Shi Qingyun after blaming him for activating dangerous formations, then escalates the fight by burning blood essence after suffering defeat. Although he acknowledges the loss, he insists that he will not lose again 30 35 37.
Abilities & Skills
Double Pupils
Shi Yi’s signature eyes combine rune comprehension, penetrating perception, and destructive power 7 30 38.
- Rune comprehension: Studies precious-bone inscriptions and condenses their runes within his eyes; also derives runes from natural terrain 7 8.
- Seeing through appearances: Examines the golden formation’s underlying changes and sees through to the source of the Rift Valley formations 30 35.
- Weak-point detection: Exposes the internal rune structure of Shi Qingyun’s white sword and strikes a tiny junction to shatter it 37.
- Battlefield perception: Evades attacks while surrounded and uses his pupils during sudden repositioning in close combat 29 36.
- Enormous eye manifestation: Produces a giant, chaos-colored eye behind him. Its nested pupils are described as bestowing life and death, though no separate restorative application is demonstrated 36.
- Limits: Observing the Qilin Cave fissure drains him enough to require a guardian’s replenishment. The Dao Platform’s restraints initially bind the enormous eye and suppress his power 11 36 37.
Supreme Bone
The transplanted Supreme Bone gradually merges with Shi Yi’s body and contains a supreme precious technique he seeks to comprehend 1 7.
- Releases vast energy throughout his body during the Heaven-Opening attack 38.
- Reacts against its binding runes after blood-red lightning strikes him near the Luminous Cocoon 38.
- Its precise precious technique is not identified in the supplied passages 7 38.
Heaven-Opening
After breaking his restraints, Shi Yi traps Shi Qingyun in a rune-bound space and fires a chaos-colored beam that shatters space along its path 38.
- Combines his released divine power, Double Pupils, and energy supplied by the Supreme Bone 38.
- Leaves him kneeling and coughing blood from the strain 38.
- Fails to kill Shi Qingyun, who absorbs and redirects the attack through an enormous Taiji Dao Diagram, destroying the enclosing space 38.
Spear Combat and Physical Strength
Shi Yi remains a formidable close-range fighter even where divine power is suppressed 35 36.
- Uses sweeping spear strikes, thrusts, shaft redirection, kicks, and fist strikes in continuous exchanges 35 36.
- Cracks Shi Qingyun’s white Rune Sword and pierces through his black sword with the Silver Spear 35 36.
- Fights numerous Cave Heaven Realm cultivators alone and takes their contested treasure, although he sustains injuries 14.
- Is eventually disarmed and defeated by Shi Qingyun’s fan techniques and a decisive kick 37.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Silver Spear — His principal weapon against Shi Qingyun. It breaks through Rune Swords but is knocked from his hands during his defeat 35 36 37.
- Silver-white bracer — Emits defensive radiance and blocks one sword strike, but shatters without divine-power reinforcement. Its fragments cut his cheek 36.
- Possible Qilin bone fragment — Seized after defeating and killing a Feather Clan prodigy. Its Qilin origin is reported as a possibility; it later glows more strongly near Rift Valley and reacts beside the Luminous Cocoon 28 30 38.
- Crystalline precious bone — Studies its inscriptions before giving it to his black-robed subordinate as a reward for news of the Qilin Cave expedition 7 8.
Relationships
- Shi Hao — Younger clan relative and original owner of the Supreme Bone transplanted into Shi Yi. Shi Yi privately wonders where his “dear little brother” is 1 7.
- Shi Ziling — Opponent in the Supreme Bone dispute; seeks to kill Shi Yi to obtain justice for Shi Hao 1.
- Shi Qingyun — Member of the opposing manor lineage and later a direct combat rival. Shi Yi ambushes him in Rift Valley, loses their close-range battle, and attempts to kill him with Heaven-Opening 2 35 37 38.
- Martial King — Patron and protector. Appoints Shi Yi to lead the Qilin Cave expedition and protects him from the shadows against outside factions 7 12.
- Yu Tian — Rain Clan prodigy who accompanies him and locates him inside the secret realm using a Rain King Mansion treasure. They become separated during fighting with the Primordial Divine Mountain forces 11 22.
- War Goddess — Deer-Chasing Academy recruiter whom Shi Yi ignores in the Void God Realm. She concludes that he has no interest in joining the academy 46.
- Black-robed subordinate — Reports developments to him and fears his displeasure. Receives a valuable precious bone as a reward 7 8.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Qilin Cave Expedition
Appointed to lead the manor’s juniors, Shi Yi arrives aboard a Spirit Transformation Realm Giant Bird and attracts considerable attention. At the entrance, he uses his Double Pupils to inspect the spatial fissure; observers conclude that he has seen the qilin’s image 7 10 11.
Inside the secret realm, he wins a contested precious bone and kills a Feather Clan prodigy. The Feather Clan and allied Primordial Divine Mountain cultivators pursue him, then attempt to capture Martial King Manor disciples as leverage when direct attacks fail 14 28.
Rift Valley and the Ninth-Rank Dao Platform
Shi Yi follows the glowing bone fragment toward Rift Valley after analyzing the formation spreading across the Starfall Mountain Range. The valley’s formations leave him hard-pressed, and he blames Shi Qingyun for activating them 30 35.
He ambushes Shi Qingyun beneath the Luminous Cocoon. Their battle escalates from spear-and-sword exchanges to Double Pupils techniques, but Shi Qingyun disarms him and sends him crashing across the platform. Shi Yi then burns blood essence, breaks his restraints, and unleashes Heaven-Opening 35 36 37 38.
Believing the attack has dealt with his opponent, he approaches the cocoon. Blood-red lightning worsens his injuries, and the appearance of spatial fissures forces him to abandon it and flee the collapsing secret realm 38.
Void God Realm Recognition
The War Goddess later reports that Shi Yi has been repeatedly breaking Void God Realm records. These exploits spread the name of the Double-Pupiled One throughout the Great Wilderness and attract the attention of major powers, including Deer-Chasing Academy 46.
