Name Myriad Daos
Original Name 万道
Type Cosmological concept; the Daos of heaven and earth, interwoven throughout the universe 244.
Role Govern cosmic order, influence cultivation conditions, and participate in Dao attainment and heavenly tribulation 53 82 177 224.
Associated Concepts Heavenly Dao, Heavenly Heart Imprint, universe origin, Chaos Great Dao 53 81 85.
Point of Convergence The universe’s distant heights above the nine layers of the Heavenly Domain, close to the Heavenly Heart Imprint and the root of the Myriad Daos 196.

Nature and Cosmic Function

  • Universal order: The Myriad Daos extend throughout heaven and earth. Changes to their order can redefine a universe’s laws and physical structure, including its mountains and seas 244 321.
  • Cultivation environment: Their activity affects the vitality of the universe. When the Spirit Realm invigorates them, depleted star domains begin recovering and the cultivation environment improves 224.
  • Cosmic balance: Their circulation can be regulated to sustain a flourishing age. Disturbing that balance can contribute to the emergence of a Final Catastrophe 81.
  • Dangerous convergence: Their power near the Heavenly Heart can injure even a ninth-heaven expert who is not a true Supreme, punishing attempts to pry into heaven 196.

Manifestations

  • Dao resonance and ordered laws: During He Mu’s cultivation, the Myriad Daos manifest alongside endless laws arranged in orderly ranks, creating conditions described as capable of enlightening a Quasi-Venerable on the verge of attainment 19.
  • Submission to supreme power: They bow beneath He Mu’s Heavenly Venerable Dao and tremble under the unrestricted might of Extreme Dao beings 9 17 20.
  • Mourning phenomena: The deaths of Forbidden Zone Supremes stir them, producing blood rain and a vision of heaven and earth weeping together 221.
  • Collapse and decay: After the failed Great Sacrifice, beings above the Saint Dao level can hear the universe’s Myriad Daos collapsing 197.

Dao Attainment and the Heavenly Heart

Ordinary Extreme Dao attainment involves merging with the Heavenly Heart Imprint. He Mu’s attempt to place his own Dao above it challenges a precedent followed even by the Heavenly Venerables 53.

Path or Condition Relationship to the Myriad Daos Documented Example
Conventional Dao attainment The cultivator unites their Dao with the Heavenly Heart and the Myriad Daos, establishing supreme authority over the universe. Qingyue completes her Supreme Sword Dao and merges it with both 210.
Transcendence above the Heavenly Heart The cultivator breaks free of the Heavenly Heart Imprint and rises above the Myriad Daos rather than remaining merged with them. He Mu attempts this breakthrough under an unprecedented heavenly tribulation; his later transcendence is explicitly confirmed 53 71.
Chaos Body attainment An innate bond with the Myriad Daos allows attainment even when another Supreme already occupies the Heavenly Heart. Wang Bo becomes a Chaos Supreme despite the usual restrictions 79 85.
Attainment as an emperor abdicates A successor’s immediate attainment interrupts the expected dispersal of the Heavenly Heart and closure of the Myriad Daos. Ning Fei rises above the Heavenly Heart and Myriad Daos as the previous emperor relinquishes his position 238.

Suppression and Exceptions

  • A reigning Supreme normally bears down upon the Myriad Daos, restricting later contenders. Wang Bo and Wenxin become examples for cultivators seeking attainment despite such obstacles 126.
  • He Mu’s abandonment of the Heavenly Heart does not immediately make it accessible. Wang Bo discovers that it is masterless but suppressed by another power, preventing him from stirring it through his tribulation 78.
  • Pan’s obstruction of Wang Bo is exceptional: his near-union with the Myriad Daos gives him priority over the Chaos Body’s innate connection, while his accumulated faith represents the will and momentum of living beings 85.
  • The Heavenly Heart’s value depends on the cultivator’s realm. After comprehending nearly all its mysteries and those of the Myriad Daos, the Spirit Emperor chiefly values it for sustaining his origin, lifespan, and battle strength 238.

Connection to the Chaos Body

Innate Bond

The Myriad Daos enter the Chaos Body at birth. He Mu identifies this connection—not merely its powerful flesh or vast magical power—as the foundation of the constitution’s advantages 85.

  • Cultivation compatibility: It can incorporate and wield any attribute of the Great Dao; a single day of cultivation can equal ten years of effort for others 85.
  • Heaven-and-earth assistance: Circulating its magical power draws support from the universe, producing reserves exceeding those of an Innate Dao Embryo 85.
  • Primordial-spirit protection: The origins of the Myriad Daos protect its Chaos primordial spirit, making it enduring and difficult to erase 85.
  • Resistance to external suppression: Its bond is almost impossible to sever externally. Even blocking that connection is exceptionally difficult 85.

Internal Heavenly Heart

  • The Chaos Body draws the Myriad Daos into itself and bears them through its Chaos origin, resembling a complete universe within the body 85.
  • This produces something akin to a Little Heavenly Heart Imprint, continually broadening its path and strengthening its Dao foundation 85.
  • The Myriad Daos scour its Five Great Secret Realms, gradually opening their Gates of Potential and releasing the potential of the Secret Realm Method 85.
  • He Mu concludes that this arrangement reduces the difficulty of the principle of using the body as a seed at its source 85.

Cultivation and Technical Applications

Refinement

  • Void Spirit Refinement: He Mu divides his primordial spirit into countless strands, using the void as Dao fire and the Myriad Daos as fuel to make them more solid and imperishable 105.
  • Body tempering: He ignites an Extreme Dao fire with remnants of Forbidden Zone Supremes’ Great Daos as its seed and the universe’s Myriad Daos as fuel, stimulating his body’s Gates of Potential 114.
  • Artifact forging: When creating the World-Opening Divine Axe, he treats the void as a furnace and the Myriad Daos as burning coals 137.

Combat and Deductions

  • Defensive transformation: Wenxin mobilizes the Myriad Daos to weave a world within his sleeve, absorbing an Ancient Venerable’s spear strike without a ripple 219.
  • Attack reinforcement: Taiyi uses Nine Secrets: Jie together with the power of the Myriad Daos to counter the Netherworld Venerable’s palm 156.
  • Tracing origins: Qingyue draws on the Heavenly Heart and Myriad Daos to investigate an aura and locate its owner 210.
  • Universe-scale formations: The Heavenly Court’s formation links the stars, Myriad Daos, and Heavenly Heart to mobilize the universe’s origin power 191.

Dao Records and Heavenly Tribulation

  • The universe’s Myriad Daos retain the Wuliang Dao Wheel’s Dao traces despite its forging within Chaos. A phantom of the weapon later appears in the Myriad Things Origin Cauldron’s immortal-artifact tribulation 177.
  • During the Dao Wheel’s earlier refinement, He Mu severs its local connection to the universe’s heaven and earth and Myriad Daos, substituting the Miniature Immortal Domain’s essence to support its transformation and preserve secrecy 109.

Reshaping Cultivation and Worlds

  • He Mu roots a Dao Seed within the Nine Heavens’ Myriad Daos to alter cultivation itself. Under its influence, nine grotto-heavens become the normal completion standard rather than an achievement restricted to exceptional prodigies 313.
  • More than twenty Immortal Kings work with the World Tree to reorder the Myriad Daos of nine damaged universes, remaking them into the Nine Heavens and raising their physical and legal foundations to a higher level 321.
  • He Mu’s own path seeks to unfold and bear the world’s Myriad Daos, ultimately allowing one Dao to give birth to myriad Daos. The Wuliang Dao Wheel helps carry that burden 290.

History

He Mu’s Transcendence

Inspired by his knowledge of Ye Fan breaking through the Myriad Daos in the original story, He Mu considers whether an already reigning Dao attainer could similarly rise above the Heavenly Heart. His first attempt fails, costs at least fifteen hundred years of lifespan, and forces him to restore the disturbed laws 22.

After five hundred years of preparation, he breaks free of the Heavenly Heart Imprint and confronts an unprecedented tribulation. He later combines his Origin Great Dao with the Wuliang Dao Wheel into a World-Opening Divine Axe to shatter the Myriad Daos’ obstruction. His successful transcendence leaves Pan responsible for regulating them 53 54 71.

Pan, Wang Bo, and the Final Catastrophe

Pan harmonizes the Myriad Daos for thousands of years, delaying a Final Catastrophe and prolonging the golden age. Constant exposure to them and to mortal thoughts gradually erodes his sense of self, leaving him in a pseudo-state of union with the Dao 79 81.

Wang Bo seizes the moment when Pan releases the Myriad Daos to attain the Dao through his Chaos Body. This breaks the maintained balance, allowing the Final Catastrophe to erupt. During the resulting Age of Declining Dharma, the Myriad Daos cease manifesting while the universe repairs itself; the Heavenly Heart eventually condenses anew 79 81 82 99.

End of the Mythological Era

Yuanshi’s Great Sacrifice threatens the convergence of the Myriad Daos near the Heavenly Heart. When Emperor Venerable destroys the Immortal Ascension Cauldron and interrupts the sacrifice, their backlash immediately strikes Yuanshi 196.

The victory leaves lasting damage. The universe origin is depleted, the Myriad Daos collapse and decay, and the broken Road to Immortality compounds the wounds. This damage exceeds that caused by He Mu and Wang Bo’s earlier breakthroughs 197.

The Lost Sixty Thousand Years

During the ensuing “lost sixty thousand years,” suppression by the Myriad Daos makes Severing the Dao impossible. Immortal Platform cultivators become rare, Dragon Transformation cultivators dominate many Life Source Lands, and entire legacies and races disappear 198.

As the universe recovers, the suppression weakens and finally breaks. Ancient experts awaken, civilization revives, and competition for Dao attainment resumes 198.

Spirit Realm Renewal

The Spirit Realm releases spirituality that makes the Myriad Daos increasingly active, restoring vitality to ruined star domains and improving cultivation conditions 224.

Later, Ning Fei attains the Dao immediately upon the previous emperor’s abdication. His succession breaks the presumed iron law that an emperor’s departure must disperse the Heavenly Heart, close the Myriad Daos, and usher in a Dharma-ending age 238.
