Destruction of the Zhang Family

Zhang Lexuan loses her family to the Evil Soul Master Demon Wolf. Found alive among the ruins, she kneels before Mu En and offers to do anything if he avenges them. Mu En kills Demon Wolf but refuses to treat her gratitude as ownership over her life 6.

Mu En briefly considers making her Bei Bei’s child bride, then rejects the idea as an abuse of his duty to eliminate Evil Soul Masters. Instead, he offers her a home at Shrek Academy. Lexuan accepts and resolves to become strong enough to protect the people and things she cherishes 6.

At Shrek, Mu En introduces her to Bei Bei and Ye Qing as their older sister. She initially gives Bei Bei more attention because he is Mu En’s descendant and she sees caring for him as repayment for her rescue. She also quietly checks on Ye Qing, leaving him undisturbed when she finds him safely reading and fishing 8 11.

Inner Court and Tournament Championship

Lexuan enrolls in Shrek’s Outer Court and eventually earns admission to the Inner Court. At seventeen, she is a level-sixty-one Soul Emperor and captain of the team competing in the Dou Ling Empire’s All-Continent Advanced Soul Master Academy Tournament 20 47.

She leads Shrek to the championship, establishing herself as a rising star. Bei Bei’s relationship with Tang Ya brings her relief rather than heartbreak: she regards him as a younger brother who no longer needs her constant care. She returns her attention to the Inner Court and gradually becomes its senior-most sister 57 86.

Inner Court cultivation and Shrek Inspection Corps missions leave her little time to see Ye Qing. They reconnect while she and Han Ruoruo are helping at the Outer Court academic affairs office after a tiring mission 86.

Star Dou Great Forest Incident

Lexuan commands an Inner Court soul-hunting party, arranging its formation and taking the forward position as its strongest member. Ye Qing joins under the pretext of obtaining his fifth Soul Ring 113 114.

During the Bloodshadow Ghost Fox crisis, she wants to remain with Ye Qing but prioritizes evacuating her teammates. She exhausts nearly all her Soul Power carrying seven others toward safety, then tries to return for him as soon as Xuan Zi takes responsibility for the survivors 116.

Ye Qing and Bi Ji have secretly staged his apparent life-or-death stand, partly to win Lexuan’s heart. Believing the danger genuine, she is overwhelmed with relief when she finds him alive. After their return to Shrek, she asks him not to face danger alone again, and they kiss beside Sea God Lake. Mu En subsequently approves their relationship 115 117 118.

Assessor and Tournament Instructor

After several stronger students graduate, Lexuan becomes the strongest disciple remaining in the Inner Court. She serves as Ye Qing’s admission-assessment opponent and attacks without holding back, exhausting herself without injuring him 137 138.

Her purpose is not merely to test him: she wants the watching students to recognize his strength and improve his prospects of becoming Shrek’s next tournament captain. The assessment effectively transfers the reputation of strongest Inner Court student to him 138.

Lexuan later becomes one of the teachers overseeing Shrek’s tournament team, assigning training, developing teamwork, and devising tactics. She also joins Han Ruoruo on the sparring team when stronger opposition is needed to accommodate Ye Qing 159 168.

During the Death’s Hand Bandit Group operation, Xuan Zi orders Lexuan, Ye Qing, and Han Ruoruo to remain outside the assault. After the operation goes wrong, the three search the surrounding mountains and recover the unconscious Wang Dong 183 186.

Eighth Ring and Sea God’s Fate

Ye Qing initially offers Lexuan a hundred-thousand-year Golden Hawksbill Turtle, then replaces it with the Sea Princess Liya as a better match. He guards her absorption of Liya’s Soul Ring and Left Arm Soul Bone, which raises her to level eighty-six 270 271.

Lexuan supports Ye Qing’s wish to participate in Sea God’s Fate despite already being his partner. The two host the event in coordinated silver-white clothing. When the gathering develops into a mass bride-snatching challenge, she fights beside him and uses her new spiritual abilities against the assembled students 272 280 281 282.

Sea God Pavilion Master and Shrek’s Reforms

Ye Qing’s Evil Nightmare Clone later elevates Lexuan to Limit Douluo, and she becomes Sea God Pavilion Master. With Xu Jiujiu’s support, she reforms Shrek and promotes Ye Qing’s name to help gather faith for him 324 328.

Her educational policies draw heavily from Ye Qing’s ideas. In her second year as Pavilion Master, she expels Zhou Yi as an example of teaching methods the academy will no longer accept. Fan Yu chooses to leave with Zhou Yi 330.

The loss of the Golden Tree creates a persistent cultivation crisis. Lexuan finds a partial remedy in the eighth year, but by the thirteenth year Shrek’s students still average three to five Soul Power levels below their counterparts from the Golden Tree era 329.

Ye Qing returns, restores Shrek’s energy-rich cultivation grounds through the Island of Holy Radiance, and forges Divine Armor for Lexuan and Xu Jiujiu. Following more than half a year of further reforms, Lexuan hands the Holy Light Hall Master position back to Mu En and begins preparing for godhood alongside Xu Jiujiu. Her actual ascension is not documented in the provided chapters 332 334.

Lexuan is gentle and usually composed, but comfortable teasing people close to her. After reconnecting with Ye Qing, she jokes about Han Ruoruo’s interest in him; she is noticeably more cheerful than the unrequited-love version of herself discussed by the narration 86 87.

Her gratitude to Mu En initially shapes her relationships, especially her determination to care for Bei Bei. Her sense of responsibility extends beyond personal attachments: during the forest disaster, she places her teammates’ evacuation ahead of her desire to stay with Ye Qing 8 116.

She can be jealous without becoming openly confrontational. Ma Xiaotao’s interest in Ye Qing angers her, but she avoids creating a public dispute and sets that hostility aside when Xiaotao needs treatment. Later, she explicitly accepts Ye Qing seeking additional partners 159 160 272.

Her opposition to Evil Soul Masters is uncompromising. Before the Death’s Hand operation, she urges the students to eliminate them decisively so ordinary people will no longer live under their threat 183.
