Background and History

Tianjizi’s Legacy and Earlier Ties

Feng Xian’er is regarded as Patriarch Tianjizi’s descendant and becomes the recognized wielder of his Nine-Phoenix Heart-Exterminating Mirror. She initially treats the ancestry claim skeptically, saying that she only knows what the sect’s elders have told her. During the attack on Cold Moon Peak, however, she draws on an inheritance explicitly associated with Tianjizi’s bloodline; she later publicly identifies herself as his sole blood descendant 157 178 219.

Xia Jiuyou was a cherished love for whom she nearly abandoned the Danyang Sect. Bai Ziyin remembers that she was willing to turn against the entire sect for him. She also shared a close history with Mei Erni, her junior sister, and once took a blade for her while Mei was undercover at Nine Nether Mountain 157 219 385.

Accepting Lin Shisan

At the Danyang Sect’s entrance examination, Feng Xian’er offers Lin Shisan discipleship on the condition that he knock down Wang Yan, Zhang Qiling’s prized disciple. Her offer shocks the other immortal masters: she never accepted male disciples and had taken no disciples for nearly twenty years 123.

When Zhang intervenes, she moves Lin Shisan out of the way, leaving Zhang’s kick to sever Wang Yan’s leg, and then strikes Zhang into a mountainside. After publicly accepting Lin Shisan, she tells him that his mistake was going too easy on his opponent 124.

She supports his examination preparations with medicines, equipment, and Spirit Stones, while refusing to pry into the secret of his Reverse Scale. When the Ling Household attempts to take him, she intervenes, breaks Steward Ling’s flying sword, and drives him away 125 127 133.

After Long Qingshan’s death, she agrees to accept Long Yan’er as a nominal disciple. On the return journey, Lin Shisan tells her about his past and demonic influence; she judges him by his choices rather than by the presence of demonic energy 139.

Establishing Life on Cold Moon Peak

Feng Xian’er settles Lin Shisan into prepared bamboo cottages on Cold Moon Peak, requires him to cook three meals daily, and insists that he drink Deer Whip Soup each evening. She also orders him to conceal the Nine Nether Alchemy Scripture, encouraging him to study it rather than surrender it to the sect 158.

Her protection extends beyond instruction. She cripples Guan Yue for sabotaging Lin Shisan’s alchemy chamber, rescues Lin Shisan from Gai Jiuyou, and later forces Ling Yun to return the Biluō Purple Cauldron and pay fifty thousand Spirit Stones in compensation. She also refuses the Ling Household’s attempt to remove Long Yan’er from Cold Moon Peak against the girl’s wishes 143 154 173.

Attack on Cold Moon Peak

Mei Erni and her allies attack Cold Moon Peak to seize the Nine-Phoenix Heart-Exterminating Mirror. Already afflicted by gu poison, Feng Xian’er is worn down by multiple opponents before Ning Jiuying joins the assault. She places the mirror inside Lin Shisan’s bamboo hut to protect him and burns her vital blood essence to awaken her nine-phoenix inheritance 176 177 178.

When the severed starry vortex swallows Lin Shisan and the mirror, she attempts to follow him despite its overwhelming power. Bai Ziyin’s arrival saves her from exhausting her remaining life force. Believing Lin Shisan dead, she weeps over him and asks Bai to kill Mei Erni and Ning Jiuying in retaliation; she subsequently remains at Lin Shisan’s bedside as he recovers 179 181 182.

Secret Realm and Public Accusations

Before the Heavenly Revelation Secret Realm opens, Feng Xian’er lends Lin Shisan the mirror to study, hoping he can comprehend Tianjizi’s lost cultivation manual. She anxiously follows his progress toward the realm’s exit 190 215.

When Elder Qingming accuses him of being a Demon Sect spy, she opposes a potentially destructive divine-sense examination and stands against Qingming’s peak Sky Soaring pressure despite being injured. After the framing is exposed, she demands compensation rather than allowing the execution of a scapegoat to close the matter 216 217 219.

Her demands secure Qingming’s personal third-grade Spirit Vein, additional artifacts and pills from the Ling and Xiao households, and public Dao oaths against retaliation. Elder Cang Xuan also gives Lin Shisan the third-grade saber Night Cry. She later shields Lin Shisan from Ning Jiuying’s Demon Spirit Clone and threatens to destroy it with the mirror 219 224.

Reunion and Breakthrough

During Lin Shisan’s three-year absence, Feng Xian’er continues caring for Long Yan’er, including reminding her to eat properly during her daily visits to the sect gates. When Lin Shisan returns, Feng Xian’er scolds and chases him through the bamboo grove before accepting his Spring Water of Renewal and welcoming his wives, Zi Yuner and Bai Youyou 314 315.

She subsequently passes her Sky Soaring tribulation, free of her longstanding injuries. Using the tribulation’s embers and century-old cold iron, she forges the Spirit Thunder Sword for Lin Shisan and agrees to accompany him to the contest for Saint Child 316 317.

Nine Yang Cauldron Crisis and Continued Protection

When the Nine Yang Cauldron’s seal weakens, Feng Xian’er volunteers to reinforce it despite the risk of fatal backlash. Lin Shisan later gives her three drops of Turbid Spirit Liquid to repair her meridians. During the ensuing crisis, she joins Han Yansong and Bai Ziyin in casting the Heavenly Secret Seal against Gai Jiuyou 340 345 352.

The conflict places her and Lin Shisan on opposing sides inside the Nine Yang Pavilion. Nevertheless, when he leaves the sect with Mu Ling’er’s body and the afflicted Zi Yuner, she gives him a Nine-Turn Soul-Returning Pill and tells him Cold Moon Peak remains open if he returns alive 358.

Her loyalty remains explicit when Mei Erni later ambushes him. Feng Xian’er stands before Lin Shisan with the mirror and rejects the argument that his status as an Immortal Alliance fugitive justifies attacking her disciple 385.

Her domestic warmth is expressed through food, practical care, and scolding rather than solemn declarations 127 157 159 163.

Her reputation as the Poison Lady reflects a ruthless response to anyone who harms her disciples. She encourages retaliation, rejects the idea that seeking an elder’s help is shameful, and will confront sect authorities or threaten to leave the Danyang Sect rather than accept an injustice against Lin Shisan 124 125 143 219.

She respects personal secrets and refuses to equate demonic influence with moral corruption. At the same time, she recognizes political danger: she warns Lin Shisan about aristocratic rivals, insists that he conceal valuable inheritances, and tries to buy him time to grow stronger 125 139 158 163 182.
