| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Psychic awakening; curse power emerges | 142 | Absorbs the Psychic Gem. Combining Psychic and Dark power produces spoken curses, first demonstrated by making a feeding stray cat choke. |
| Dark Curse Crow — Level 25, Low Leader | 183 | Recorded on its Contract Card when Lu Ran contracts it as his third Pet Beast. Attributes are Dark and Psychic; racial talent is Dark Curse. |
| Evil-Eyed Crow — High-level Commander | 183 | Fuses with the Evil God’s Eye Trait Crystal. Gains Enemy Lock, sharply reducing energy lost when attacking a locked-on target. |
| Pig Transformation Curse acquired | 186 | Comprehends the curse after drinking high-grade pork bone soup. It reshapes an enemy’s soul and mind so they believe they are a pig. |
| Level 30; enhanced psychic and soul powers | 215 219 | Devouring Agate accelerates resource absorption. Super Mind Fruit, Mandala Flower, and Soul Bone Soup strengthen its foundations; it awakens Dark Vision. |
| Self-Consumption Cultivation | 217 | Consumes its own regenerated Evil God’s Eyes, strengthening Dark and Psychic power. Additional eyes appear across its body before improvement reaches a bottleneck. |
| First-stage evolution — Twin Crows, Low-Tier Overlord | 219 220 | Fuses with the Undead Clone Trait Crystal. Twin Curse creates two true bodies sharing one consciousness; both must perish for Dark Crow to die. |
| Level 40; Swarm Transformation acquired | 277 | Divine Form Grass raises it to level 40. The Clan Command Trait Crystal links it to its flock and unlocks collective transformation. |
| Flock Form — Level 45, Low-Tier Overlord | 278 | The first documented flock transformation temporarily adds five growth levels and grants Wind power through the predominantly Wind-type flock. |
| Flock Form — Level 61 | 295 | Its crow-flock form reaches level 61 following the Dragon Palace invasion. |
| Thirtyfold Energy Compression under support | 311 | Sudden Death King’s Defense Aura lets its body withstand compression it previously could not safely use. |
| Level 50; Delayed Curse acquired | 365 | Fuses with Future Prediction. Can plant curse power in a target and detonate it later. |
| Level 52 | 401 | Documented before preparations to reach the level-60 threshold for second-stage evolution. |
| Second-stage evolution — Oracle Crow, Level 60, Quasi-Legendary | 402 | Psychic divine-blood cuisine raises it to level 60. After eating the Leaf of Time, it unifies its powers under Ghost Mother’s guidance, gains Word Spirit and Prophecy Comes True, and replaces Twin Curse with Undying Curse. |
| “I am the legion” — temporary Level 80 | 449 | Develops a self-contained legion transformation using its Undead Clones, allowing it to raise its level without relying solely on the external crow army. |
| Main body — Level 80; War Soldier trait | 465 | Receives the War Soldier Trait Crystal, enabling it to create fighting soldiers from sacrificed body parts. |
| Legion enhancement — Level 96 or 100 | 466 | Its crow soldiers alone can raise it to level 96; adding the hundred-thousand-strong poison crow legion allows level 100. |
| Main body — Level 100, Lesser Legendary; Legion Form — Middle Legendary | 470 | Time Fruit raises the main body to level 100. With growth level capped, legion convergence produces a qualitative increase in species rank instead. |
| Eliminate Evil for Heaven acquired | 486 | Develops a skill that sacrifices beings opposing the World Will in exchange for greater affinity with World Rules. |
| Third-stage evolution — Middle Legendary | 496 | Death Sacrifice and the Evil God’s flesh deepen its control of life and death. Gains the Death God racial talent, doubling the effect of souls used as curse sacrifices. |
| Legion Form — Level 100, High Legendary | 497 | War Soldier fusion raises its legion species rank. Further Soul Evolution, Soul Enhancement, and sacrifices bring its soul power close to Supreme God-level. |
| Legion Form — Supreme God | 511 | The Ancestor Trait converts bloodline feedback from eight million soldier doppelgängers into further growth. Its normal form has not yet reached Supreme God at this point. |
| Unity of Purpose acquired | 513 | Following its Supreme God-level breakthrough, gains the ability to maintain mental connections between its main body and distant doppelgängers. |
Background / History
Before meeting Lu Ran, Dark Crow was repeatedly driven away by humans because crows were considered ill omens in Xia Country. It consequently learned to flee whenever a human approached 155.
Their first meeting occurred before the Spirit Energy Revival, while Dark Crow was eating carrion on Back Mountain. Rather than attacking it, Lu Ran communicated directly with its mind, invited it to become an officer, and declared his ambition to become the future King of Animals and Beast Taming. Dark Crow later recounted this encounter to Xia Ri as the beginning of their partnership 155.
Dark Crow served Lu Ran before receiving a contract. By the time Lu Ran returned to Green Sea with attribute-awakening resources, its subordinates already formed an extensive local intelligence network. Lu Ran eventually contracted it ahead of the Weather Spirit, formally making it his third Pet Beast 142 183.
Appearance
Dark Crow retains a crow-like silhouette through its major evolutions, but its eyes, markings, and legion forms change substantially 183 217 402 449.
- Evil-Eyed Crow: Its formerly black eyes become blood-red vertical pupils. Its overall body shape initially changes little 183.
- Self-consumption form: Additional Evil God’s Eyes develop on its forehead, body, wings, and skin beneath its feathers. It can conceal these eyes 217.
- Early flock form: Becomes a colossal crow-like creature with three pairs of black-mist wings and enormous red slit pupils 277 278.
- Oracle Crow: The extra eyes disappear, leaving its original pair. Dense golden characters cover its black feathers like incantations 402.
- “I am the legion” form: Gains three additional pairs of wings, a hundred-meter wingspan, and over a hundred eyes covering its golden runes 449.
- Level-100 legion form: Reaches a wingspan of nearly ten thousand meters 470.
- Soul Evolution with Lu Ran: Assumes a towering human–crow form with feather-derived, scale-like skin, each scale bearing a character 497.
Personality
Dark Crow is talkative, theatrical, and openly flattering toward Lu Ran, whom it addresses as “Great King.” Its grandiose declarations often earn an immediate rebuke from its master. After gaining twin bodies, it even develops the habit of making them argue over battle credit despite their shared consciousness 142 183 314.
Its loyalty coexists with considerable ambition. Dark Crow wants to surpass General Ha and Sudden Death King and become Lu Ran’s foremost general. It also welcomes territorial expansion, eagerly recruiting crows beyond Green Sea once Lu Ran removes its restrictions 185 220 286.
It prefers precise, sophisticated curses over wasteful displays of force. Even after gaining powerful telekinesis, it dislikes the technique’s heavy psychic consumption and considers curses a more elegant way to defeat opponents 215.
Dark Crow’s willingness to suffer for advancement becomes one of its defining strengths. While creating millions of soldiers from its eyes, it continues despite the pain and never stops or cries out. Lu Ran explicitly admires the willpower behind its early attainment of Supreme God-level among the original three pets 511.
Abilities & Skills
Dark Curse
Dark Curse combines Dark and Psychic energy into curse power. Its earliest incantations interfere with an enemy’s mind and thereby influence their actions 144 183.
| Curse | Effect | Source / Limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Pig Transformation Curse | Reshapes the target’s soul and mind, making them believe they are a pig and adopt pig-like behavior. | Initially acquired from pork bone soup. Later develops into temporary physical transformation, demonstrated on injured Beast Tamers and their pets 186 222. |
| Dark Vision / darkness curse | Removes light and deprives the afflicted of all five senses. | Awakened after digesting the Mandala Flower 215 344. |
| Red Fur Curse | Interferes with energy fluctuations and seals skills. | Developed through research into special Ferocious Plants; manifests as ominous red, dandelion-like pappi 292 344. |
| Human body curse | Mutates the target’s flesh and disrupts performance. | A body-targeting curse in its later repertoire 344. |
| Instant death curse | Directly strips away life. | Learned through Six Path Flower’s teachings 344. |
| Freeze-to-Death Curse | Uses Word Spirit and a sacrificial ice elemental core to kill targets. | Used during the campaign against the Elemental Gods 479. |
- Its early curses work only within approximately twenty meters, matching the effective range of its Energy Release 144.
- Attempts to reverse its early curses into beneficial effects fail. This restriction precedes its later Word Spirit evolution 144.
- Without sacrifices, its documented curse-strength order is instant death, darkness, Pig Transformation, Red Fur, then human body curse 344.
- Dark Crow can devise targeted curses against artificial ruin spirits, not just living organisms 272.
Evil God’s Eye and Enemy Lock
The Evil God’s Eye provides reconnaissance and target acquisition; Enemy Lock preserves the energy of attacks directed at a marked enemy 183.
- Locates the sleeping Ant Queen deep beneath Ubilas Island and surveys tens of thousands of ants in her nest 200.
- Observes distant deep-sea activity, making it useful for tracking Dragon Palace forces 286.
- Produces a spirit-form crow clone through a manifested eye to contact Black Tortoise underwater 296.
- Eventually supports attacks between opposite hemispheres. At High Legendary, its vision can cover Blue Star and the moon 442 511.
- Reconnaissance overexertion causes aching or bleeding eyes. Enemy Lock reduces attack-energy loss but does not eliminate the need to train Energy Release 183 185 282.
Word Spirit and Prophecy Comes True
After evolving into an Oracle Crow, Dark Crow unifies its attributes into Word Spirit. Its spoken words possess soul power, allowing utterances to kill enemies and curses to alter fate 402.
- Makes Stone Ape’s final approach to an attack effectively unreachable, then commands it to exhaust its energy and collapse unconscious 402.
- Manipulates time flow during training, attempting to change Six Path Flower’s tenfold acceleration to ninefold or elevenfold 417.
- Supports the birth and rapid growth of young crows, accelerating legion development 408.
- Prophecy Comes True gives its statements an extremely high probability of becoming true through otherwise inconceivable means 402.
- An attempt to resurrect Ji Yuan’s secret-realm projection also revives the real Ji Yuan from a surviving drop of divine blood 496 497.
Training and limits:
- Word Spirit improves noticeably through stronger souls, stronger psychic foundations, and greater mastery of time. Energy Compression provides little direct benefit 417.
- Powerful targets can resist through sheer strength; No. 18 notes that even Six Path Flower generally withstands it rather than countering it through a special technique 442.
- Attempting to restore young Manager Ying’s past-life memories causes backlash, making Dark Crow cough blood and fall 426.
Twin Bodies, Possession, and Undying Curse
Its first evolution produces Curse Crow and Death Crow, two true bodies linked by one consciousness 220 314.
- Twin Curse: Dark Crow survives as long as either true body remains alive 220.
- Possession: Death Crow can possess Curse Crow to combine their powers. Dark Crow can also possess Lu Ran, giving him black wings and a crow-shaped beak 222 272.
- Undead control: Death Crow restrains the Undead Crocodile Dragon during the team’s battle against it 240.
- Undying Curse: After reclaiming its twin body during second-stage evolution, Dark Crow can repeatedly resurrect by spending curse power. It can truly die if the curse is broken or its curse power runs out 402.
Clan Command and Legion Transformation
Clan Command links Dark Crow to creatures of its bloodline or a sufficiently similar species. It can lend power to subordinates or draw their power into itself 277.
- Crow Legion: Begins with Green Sea’s crows, then expands nationwide. Dark Crow cultivates soldiers using heavily diluted pupil blood because ordinary crows cannot withstand its full Evil God power 277 286.
- Evil God Legion: Its Evil God lineage also permits command over Evil God Creatures. Six Path Flower removes captured creatures’ consciousnesses to turn them into puppets 364 365.
- Swarm Transformation: Combines Dark Crow and its commanded flock into a larger form, initially raising growth level 277 278.
- “I am the legion”: Uses its own Undead Clones to perform a legion transformation, reducing dependence on an external flock 449.
- War Soldiers: Sacrificed eyes become soldiers carrying Dark Crow’s bloodline. Their power and numbers further strengthen its legion form 465 466 511.
- Ancestor: Bloodline-linked descendants feed strength back into Dark Crow. Soldier doppelgängers qualify because they are made from its own body 511.
- Unity of Purpose: Keeps distant doppelgängers mentally connected to the main body 513.
Its external flock form initially cannot be used to rampage through Infinite City’s secret realms, making it especially valuable for combat in the outside world 278 408.
Sacrificial Techniques
Dark Crow trades resources, body parts, vitality, and souls for greater curse power 272 479 496.
- Self-Consumption Cultivation: Consuming its own regenerated Evil God’s Eyes strengthens its Dark and Psychic foundations; the initial method eventually reaches a bottleneck 217.
- Curse sacrifices: Repeatedly sacrifices its own power while receiving healing to erase the Tree King Ruins’ three phantoms 272.
- Death Sacrifice: Converts sacrificed life force into soul power, with stronger effects as the sacrifice brings it closer to death 496.
- Death God: Doubles a curse sacrifice’s effect when the offering is a soul 496.
- Eliminate Evil for Heaven: Sacrifices beings that oppose the World Will to improve affinity with World Rules. Later combines this technique with Cloudy’s power to help locate the Evil God’s hidden cursed space 486 496.
Psychic and Energy Techniques
- Masters Energy Flow, Energy Shaping, and Energy Release before receiving extensive human-directed training 144.
- Trains long-range release by firing crow feathers and shooting energy arrows toward the sun 144 155.
- Develops telekinesis powerful enough to crush the ground and tear a long chasm through a forest, though it considers the expenditure inefficient 215.
- Uses thirtyfold Energy Compression with Sudden Death King’s defensive support; its comparatively weak physique otherwise limits such techniques 311.
Equipment & Associated Resources
- Divine Deer Pendant / Antler — Healing support used to recover from eye damage, enable self-consumption training, and sustain repeated sacrificial curses 217 272 442.
- Soul Scarecrow — Equipment supplied by Lu Ran. After exhausting its prepared food resources, Dark Crow asks permission to eat it; the supplied account does not confirm that it does 215.
- Crow Secret Realm — A dedicated habitat established at Red Leaf Park Back Mountain. One of Dark Crow’s feathers serves as its key 252.
- War Tally — Reward Lu Ran identifies as suitable for strengthening Dark Crow’s legion 430.
Relationships
- Lu Ran — Master and the first human to gain its trust. Dark Crow serves him before being contracted, consistently calls him “Great King,” and supports his ambitions of kingship 155 183 513.
- General Ha — Teammate and rival for the position of team ace. Their competition continues through internal battles that help Dark Crow develop its legion techniques 185 220 449.
- Sudden Death King — Teammate whose defenses initially defeat every category of Dark Crow’s attacks. Its Defense Aura later enables Dark Crow to use stronger Energy Compression 200 311.
- Ghost Mother — Evolution mentor whose expertise suits Dark Crow’s undead, mental, Dark, and Evil God powers. Guides its successful unification into Word Spirit 369 402.
- Six Path Flower — Teaches it instant-death curses, supplies Evil God puppets, provides time training, and sustains its later soldier production through healing 344 365 417 511.
- Black Tortoise — Fellow Green Sea general. Dark Crow contacts it in the deep sea and persuades it to remain in Dragon Palace to expand Lu Ran’s maritime influence 296 298.
- Cloudy — Junior teammate who calls it “Uncle Crow.” Their joint training produces Eliminate Evil for Heaven and inspires Dark Crow’s proposed “Dark Cloud Combo” 486.
- Fang Lan — Helps cultivate the crow army and develop Poison-Type resources for the legion 298 408.
- Xia Ri — Prepares dark cuisine for it while practicing spear intent; hears Dark Crow’s account of its first meeting with Lu Ran 155.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Green Sea’s Intelligence Network
Dark Crow acts as an intermediary among Lu Ran’s uncontracted beasts, explaining Sudden Death King’s defensive training assignment during its sparring matches. Its expanding network of crow subordinates later reports Lu Ran’s return before he reaches home 96 142.
Secret-Realm Reconnaissance and the Tree King Ruins
On Ubilas Island, Dark Crow locates the underground Ant Queen, allowing Lu Ran to plan a direct aerial strike instead of clearing the ant colony individually. In the Tree King Ruins, it becomes a principal attacker, using sacrificial curses and healing support to erase three powerful phantoms 200 272 442.
Dragon Palace Conflict
Dark Crow’s long-range vision and expanding flock become strategic assets against the Dragon Palace. After the invasion is defeated, it scouts the coast with Lu Ran, contacts Black Tortoise inside the deep-sea faction, and helps persuade the turtle to exploit the resulting power vacuum 286 295 296 298.
Evil God Campaigns
Dark Crow and Six Path Flower gather Evil God Creatures into an army while Lu Ran seeks contact with Ghost Mother. Later, Dark Crow hunts the reincarnated Evil God, locates its hidden cursed space with its teammates’ support, and recovers the incomplete Curse Core after the confrontation 365 496.
Elemental Gods and Star-Moon’s Surrender
During Lu Ran’s conflict with the Elemental Gods, Dark Crow conducts long-range curse assassinations using elemental cores as sacrifices. It subsequently curse-kills the Tree God and other deities who attempt to silence them 479 480.
After reaching Supreme God-level in Legion Form, Dark Crow announces Lu Ran’s claim to the Star-Moon throne and warns of another world war if the world refuses submission. Its display of the Evil God’s Eye helps secure the Divine Tree’s concession; Star-Moon World surrenders several days later 511 513.

Trivia
- Dark Crow teaches its subordinates stock phrases, creating what the narration describes as the flock’s “corporate culture” 277.
- It becomes fascinated with selective crow breeding but refuses to participate personally, insisting that its own partner must be at least on the Divine Phoenix’s level 416.
- Immediately after it celebrates that the slow-moving black fog leaves Lu Ran time to have descendants, the fog suddenly accelerates. Dark Crow nervously denies responsibility 511.
