Background / History

Origin and Objective

Eileen is the consciousness of a deteriorating world. When that world collapsed, she devoured its living beings to survive, while Wade escaped by chance and secretly followed her into Ye Xunzhi’s world. Rather than address the source of her decline, Eileen sought to replenish herself by taking energy from other worlds 288 289.

Her plan required Ye Xunzhi, whom Ren Chen describes as the only person of value to her. Eileen wanted Ye Xunzhi to help kill Ren Chen so she could consume his world’s energy and create a replacement world. Ye Xunzhi refused because everyone else in the existing world would die; Eileen subsequently erased her memories of their meeting 263.

Original Timeline

Ye Xunzhi first met Eileen at her grandfather’s funeral when she was fourteen. Eileen told her that they would meet again. At twenty, Ye Xunzhi recognized Eileen in a photograph sent by Shi Che before his death while investigating Ye Chuyan’s fate 264.

Eileen systematically eliminated Ye Xunzhi’s family to break down her psychological defenses, intending to deceive her and possess her body. Instead, Ye Xunzhi arranged a weapons transaction with Kaijie and Chet as a trap, lured Eileen into a rigged warehouse, and detonated it while remaining inside herself 268 269.

Their deaths triggered Eileen’s time-reversal mechanism. The resulting energy surge, amplified by Ye Xunzhi’s exceptional luck, awakened Ren Chen and began their struggle across earlier points in time 270.

Her professed affection for Ye Xunzhi is inseparable from control. She argues that killing Ye Xunzhi’s family would leave the girl belonging to her alone. Her disregard extends beyond individual victims: she considers humanity’s interests worthless and willingly destroys valuable weapons data to try to eliminate Ye Xunzhi 258 261.

Eileen can remain composed under immediate threats, even drinking tea with a gun against her head. Repeated deaths at Ye Xunzhi’s hands destroy that confidence, however. Infant Switch and Mutual Memory Seals

Unable to harm newborn Ye Xunzhi directly, Eileen bargains with the financially troubled Lin couple and bribes a nurse to exchange their daughter, Lin Ranran, with Ye Xunzhi. She also sends money to Ye Xunzhi’s parents to prevent them from leaving Lin Ranran with the Ye family, where emotional ties might undermine her plans 277.

Ye Xunzhi elects not to undo the switch immediately. Instead, she works with Ren Chen to construct protective replacement memories for her younger self and seals Eileen’s memories in return. Both seals are designed to break when the two meet 277 278.

Ancient Coins and Overseas Attacks

Eileen sends Lin Ranran to obtain three Ancient Coins before Ye Xunzhi can acquire them. After Lin Ranran dies and Vajra is imprisoned, she follows the coins’ exhibition route to Country F. Ma’erlie eventually delivers them, but they disintegrate in her hands 138 162 175.

Her subsequent operations include a trap at lounge 09 of the Triangle Building charity gala, a mercenary attack on Ye Xunzhi and Ye Yunhuai, and the kidnapping of Ye Xiao to lure Ye Xunzhi out 180 187 217.

Country X

Ye Xunzhi deliberately has Wade report her trip to Country X to draw Eileen out. Alarmed that Ye Xunzhi is approaching the site of her planned attack on Ye Chuyan, Eileen travels there and obtains partial command of Kaijie’s operation 240 241.

When the hostage bombs fail, Eileen activates a backup plan involving tanks. She later uses the Amari transaction to force Ye Xunzhi into another dangerous confrontation, then detonates the warehouse instead of sending requested reinforcements 246 258 261.

Eileen escapes by helicopter, but Ye Xunzhi spots her from the ground. Their encounter restores both women’s sealed memories, leaving Eileen desperate to flee and change her appearance 262 278 279.

Country M and Death

Eileen abandons her plastic-surgery appointment and hides in a guarded castle’s underground research institute. She expends energy to obtain a place on its most secure fourth basement level, hoping to recover before acting against Ye Xunzhi again 284 286 287.

Ye Xunzhi infiltrates the institute and intercepts her at the fourth-level emergency exit. A dagger wound near the heart leaves Eileen unable to escape and causes her death 288.
