  • A one-armed man arrived, ordered a large bowl of donkey-meat noodles, and told Mu Bai he had cut off and eaten his own arm for meat.

Mu Bai learned how the Three Deities Palace had gained followers by distributing pills during a deadly fever outbreak, then saw its disciples mistreat poor worshippers while demanding offerings. After protecting Jing'er and her grandfather and trying to take them home, Mu Bai was attacked by the disciples and knocked them down with a sweeping kick.

  • Jing'er's grandfather told Mu Bai that Shen San and his brothers had claimed to be Divine Envoys after their pills helped villagers survive a fever outbreak, prompting the construction of the Three Deities Palace.
  • Mu Bai, Jing'er, and her grandfather reached the crowded palace, where worshippers prayed and white-robed disciples collected valuables and livestock.
  • A disciple scorned Jing'er's grandfather's copper coins, kicked over the family's rice, and shoved him down; when Jing'er protested, the disciple tried to slap her.
  • Mu Bai blocked the disciple, gave Jing'er's grandfather a medicinal pill, and carried him away from the palace, saying there were no compassionate deities there.
  • A brown-robed disciple ordered the others to seize Mu Bai, but Mu Bai swept his leg and sent a dozen white-robed disciples tumbling to the ground.

Mu Bai broke free, rescued Jing’er and her grandfather, and agreed to go to the Divine Mountain after finishing his meal.

  • The chief’s mother and other bedridden villagers recovered after taking Mu Bai’s pills, but the chief still denounced him as a sorcerer and urged the villagers to attack.

  • Jing'er's grandfather arrived with a group of people, driving the wolves away and rescuing the remaining villagers.
  • San Houzi and the other survivors accused the gods of abandoning them, and Jing'er's grandfather led more than a hundred villagers to the Divine Palace gates.
  • The palace gates opened, revealing white-robed followers kneeling before the three brothers of the Shen Household, who sat with halos around them.

Ch. 316Enslaving the Mind

  • The Shen brothers summoned a Fierce Beast apparition and frightened the villagers into kneeling, then ordered Old Master Yang and San Houzi bound for opposing them.
  • The brothers ordered Old Master Yang beheaded, and San Houzi was executed after he tried to expose the apparition as a fake.
  • The villagers stayed kneeling beside the bodies even after the disciples left, while imprisoned Mu Bai watched helplessly and vowed to destroy the brothers.
  • The village chief and his men brought bound Jing'er to the Divine Palace, where she saw her grandfather's corpse and begged the villagers to release her.
  • The Shen brothers decided to burn Jing'er as an offering to preserve their control.

  • Taowu used his tusks, smoke, and swallowing vortex against Mu Bai, but Mu Bai kept fighting and stabbed him.
  • The Phoenix-Holding Jade Cup flew toward Taowu, who recognized the Divine Phoenix Lord and bowed before it.
  • Mu Bai realized Bai Jun was inside the cup, and Bai Jun appeared, asking Mu Bai to calm down and offering to erase the past few days.

Ch. 319A Grand Performance

Bai Jun revealed to Mu Bai that the human-beast wars were a generations-long performance meant to deceive the Immortal Race while the Origin Realm gathered strength for revenge. After learning of his repeated lives and possible destined rivalry with Hai Chen, Mu Bai left the Origin Realm to wage war among the stars of the Immortal Realm.

  • Bai Jun showed Mu Bai his Inner World and revealed that he was Bai Zhi, while Mu Bai had been Bai Jun in a previous lifetime.
  • Bai Jun told Mu Bai that he had reincarnated across many lifetimes and might face a destined foe, prompting Mu Bai to think of Hai Chen.

  • Bai Jun revealed that humans and beasts staged their wars to mislead the Immortal Race and secretly prepare fighters for a future battle.
  • Mu Bai said he would see Bai Jun on the battlefield, used his Void Beast Soul Mark to leave the Origin Realm, and arrived at Peng City.

  • Mu Bai killed the Human-Faced Centipede's hidden cultivator and summoned his three great Soul Spirits to slaughter the scattered enemies.
  • Hu Meier tried to bewitch Mu Bai, but he attacked her and blocked her escape with the Void Beast's world-forming ability.
  • Hu Meier offered to teach Mu Bai her cloning technique and explained that she had cultivated three lives through the Nine-Lives Technique.

Ch. 322Soul Spirit Avatar

Mu Bai forced Hu Meier to surrender the Nine-Lives Technique, then used it to create an avatar from his Silver-Backed Ape Soul Spirit. After discovering a trove of treasures and continuing toward Eastern Ridge, he reflected on humanity’s plight in the Beast Territory and sought news of the front lines.

  • Hu Meier tried to stab Mu Bai while offering to impart the Nine-Lives Technique, but Mu Bai struck her down and forced her to hand over the method.

Ch. 323The Burial Pit Array Grounds

  • Xiao Liu showed Mu Bai how to carve an Alerting Spirit Array into soul jade, but Mu Bai repeatedly failed to control the carving pressure and connect the lines.
  • After two days, Mu Bai had barely learned to carve formation lines evenly, and Qi Zhenzi gave him two more days to improve.
  • Qi Zhenzi returned wounded and warned everyone to flee as hundreds of cultivators, a Demon General, and a middle-aged man entered the Burial Pit demanding the Evolutionary Formation Diagram.
  • Qi Zhenzi accused the middle-aged man of betraying the Human Spirit Domain by colluding with the Beast Race, while the man urged Qi Zhenzi to surrender and serve him.
  • Qi Zhenzi used his Formation Flag to blast the invading cultivators with thunder and trapped the Demon General and the middle-aged man outside a Spatial Separation Formation.
  • Qi Zhenzi revealed that he had never been injured, bound the middle-aged man, and challenged the remaining attackers to stay and learn array offering from him.

Ch. 325Celestial Person Spirit Evolution

Qi Zhenzi killed a traitorous Human Race Dao Zun and a Demon General, then expelled Mu Bai while leaving him a pattern from the Celestial Person Evolution Grand Formation to study. Mu Bai failed to copy it and resumed his journey, eventually reaching an empty settlement where snakes crept toward him in the darkness.

  • Qi Zhenzi bound the cultivators with formations, killed the middle-aged man and the leading Demon General, and addressed the survivors as his new disciples.
  • Qi Zhenzi rejected Mu Bai as a disciple because of his poor aptitude and appetite, but promised to accept him again if he carved one pattern from the Celestial Person Evolution Grand Formation.
  • Qi Zhenzi marked a circle-and-person formation on Mu Bai's left arm and sent him back to the city street where they had first met.
  • Mu Bai tried to copy the pattern into Soul Jade but was repeatedly drawn into a dark, disorienting void, so he gave up and continued toward Eastern Ridge.
  • After two days of travel, Mu Bai entered an empty settlement and found rats hiding in a vacant residence.
  • As night fell, several gray-and-white snakes crawled into the courtyard and approached Mu Bai's feet.
