Ch. 326Snakes, Rats, and Rotting Corpses

Mu Bai’s Silver-Backed Ape avatar became trapped in a courtyard surrounded by ravenous rats, snakes, and rotting corpses, until his main body broke through the city’s aerial restriction and rescued him. After burning and freezing the threat, the two reunited, and Qi Zhenzi’s formation diagram appeared on Mu Bai’s main body.

  • Mu Bai tried to leave the courtyard but found it surrounded by red-eyed rats, which swarmed over his defenses and attacked the snakes and rotting corpses.
  • The corpses and rats crowded against Mu Bai’s Soul Power Light Screen, weakening it as he vomited from disgust and regretted entering with his avatar.

  • Mu Bai summoned thunderclouds and poured rain across Sand Rain City, while Jiang Yu knelt gratefully among his rejoicing beastfolk.
  • Hu Meier wavered over her plan to kill Mu Bai as she saw his care for the land and its people.
  • After the rain lasted until daybreak, green grass sprouted across the sands, and Jiang Yu thanked Mu Bai and offered him more gold sand.
  • Jiang Yu recognized that Mu Bai was not Hei Feng and asked him to oversee the merfolk’s and Hei Feng’s territories; Mu Bai and Hu Meier then headed north.
  • Hu Meier accused Mu Bai of taking treasures from Hei Feng’s treasury, seized a leather whip, and chased him as they joked and grew more at ease with each other.

Ch. 343Huang De, the Pass Guardian

Mu Bai and Hu Meier reached Jiayu Fort, where Hu Meier used her charm to gain an invitation from Huang De, the Beast Race Demon General. While she kept Huang De occupied at a banquet, Mu Bai prepared for his return to Eastern Ridge by refining a golden skeleton and reckoning with his plans for revenge.

  • Hu Meier charmed Huang De and kept him occupied for several days while Mu Bai’s Divine Crow and Origin Water Chiru avatars slipped away toward Qishan Canyon.
  • Mu Bai’s Silver-Backed Ape avatar rescued Cheng Peng and the surviving cultivators from an encirclement, and Mu Bai treated their injuries and put the gathered herbs to use.

  • Huang De sent the Giant Bird Legion to attack the cultivators’ rear, but Mu Bai’s Divine Crow clone and five hundred cultivators stopped the birds with fire and killed many of them.
  • Mu Bai’s Origin Water Chiru clone led more than two thousand cultivators to block the canyon entrance and attack Huang De’s central and rear forces, leaving the Red-Eyed White Tiger Legion isolated and surrounded.
  • Huang De ordered a retreat; his Red-Eyed White Tiger Legion was wiped out, and more than half the fierce bird legion was slain.
  • Cheng Peng celebrated the victory with the people of the canyon, while Mu Bai’s Divine Crow and Origin Water Chiru clones guarded against a counterattack; Huang De requested General Nangong Zhan’s aid.
  • Hu Meier visited Mu Bai at Jiayu Fort and considered killing him while he was distracted, but memories of their time together stopped her from striking.

Ch. 349Into Qishan once more

Mu Bai’s Divine Crow clone returned to Qishan with Cheng Peng and other cultivators to gather medicinal herbs, then killed two Trunk-Nosed Apes and nearby powerful beasts. As Qishan Canyon’s people tried to make a home there, Huang De’s reinforcements arrived, leaving a major attack on the horizon.

  • Hu Meier fled in tears after Mu Bai spoke, while Mu Bai resumed controlling his three soul spirit clones.
  • Ya Qing advanced quickly in pill refining, and Mu Bai’s Divine Crow clone and Cheng Peng led cultivators into Qishan to collect scarce medicinal herbs.
  • At the Trunk-Nosed Apes’ lair, Mu Bai’s clone fought and killed both apes while Cheng Peng’s group gathered the remains of three fallen Xiu Zun and harvested herbs.

  • Huang De persuaded Nangong Zhan to bring his army to Qishan Canyon, where the two generals encircled the humans and waited rather than risk attacking.
  • Mu Bai’s Silver-Backed Ape Clone told Cheng Peng to keep the troops calm while his Divine Crow and Origin Water Chiru clones slipped away to seek help.
  • Nangong Zhan argued that the siege would reveal whether the mysterious fighters had powerful backing, and Huang De agreed to wait them out.
  • Mu Bai reunited with the returning clones at Jiayu Fort, then disguised himself and attacked the city with lightning, killing many Fierce Beasts and a deputy general.
  • Hu Meier alerted Huang De that Jiayu Fort was under attack, and Huang De hurried back with his troops despite Nangong Zhan’s warning that it might be a trap.
  • Nangong Zhan returned to camp, then broke camp and marched back toward the city as well.
