Background and History

Previous Life and Root’s Pursuit

Pero was a bus driver on Blue Star before arriving in the shinobi world. He remembers his former life as a repetitive routine and values the freedom his new powers give him to travel and alter events he once knew as fiction 22 80.

He grew up alongside Yahiko, Nagato, and Konan. After he refused to join Konoha, Danzō regarded him as a threat and sent Root after him. Pero spent three months hiding and fighting, improving his taijutsu through repeated battles before being cornered and exhausted on his twelfth birthday 2 23.

Return to the Akatsuki

Following three years of solar absorption, Pero returned from orbit when his super-hearing detected Hanzō’s trap for the Akatsuki. He froze the attacking shinobi, rescued Konan, and killed Hanzō. He then tracked Danzō’s escape and killed him at Root headquarters using two bio-electrically empowered pebbles 1 2.

Pero challenged the Akatsuki’s reliance on peaceful negotiation, arguing that established nations would not willingly surrender their authority. Nagato came to regard him as the foundation of peace. When Black Zetsu took control of Nagato, Pero removed him and acquired the Ten-Tails’ core essence 2 3.

Building an Organization That Could Survive Him

Pero rescued Obito, intervened in the attack on Kakashi and Rin, and removed Isobu from Rin while sustaining her with his own chakra. He retained the Three-Tails for the Akatsuki rather than surrendering it to Minato 4 5 6.

He recovered the Uzumaki Clan’s sealing techniques with Konan and secured Minato’s covert cooperation. After the Nine-Tails’ extraction left Kushina near death, Pero treated her; Minato subsequently agreed to help the Akatsuki while seeking benefits for Konoha 16 20.

Concerned that the organization would collapse without him, Pero developed the Superman Squad: selected members became hosts for golden chakra clones that granted them Kryptonian-like powers. He then left a remotely controlled clone in Amegakure while his original body entered the Sun 23 27 29.

Rather than immediately eliminating every threat, Pero instructed the Akatsuki to encourage the villages’ alliance and allow Black Zetsu’s resurrection scheme to advance. He intended to return as the final opponent after Kaguya appeared. His remaining clone later overwhelmed the Ten-Tails and countered Madara’s Limbo attack 27 40 41.

*The Boys* World

Pero entered a modern city through a spatial rift and identified the setting through Vought International and its televised heroes. After overpowering Homelander, he discovered that Homelander interpreted his punishment as fatherly affection and began treating him as his father 47 50 55.

Pero initially refused Starlight’s request to help against Vought, warning that he would destroy the company if it attacked him. He later killed its hidden agents, collapsed Vought Tower with a clap, and melted the wreckage with Heat Vision 64 69.

With sufficient energy already accumulated, he left a duplicate as an anchor and completed his Silver Superman evolution in space. He tested his new temporal abilities by viewing past events, then returned to his villa almost immediately after his earlier self had departed 70 71.

Pirate World

Pero arrived at Marineford during the Paramount War and intervened before Ace’s expected death. His killing of Akainu led to an eight-billion-Beli bounty marked “ONLY DEAD” 74 80.

His travels developed into a campaign against both the Celestial Dragons and predatory pirates. He empowered Billy, entrusted him with building a base, and traveled with Kizaru and later Kuzan. Along the way, he confronted Charlotte Linlin, defeated Kaido, and rejected Shanks’s defense of the existing balance of power 87 89 103 108.

Pero ultimately killed Imu and erased Pangaea Castle, Mary Geoise, and part of the Red Line with Super Shinra Tensei. Leaving the remaining work to Billy, he placed a golden chakra anchor in the Sun and prepared to depart 126.

Metropolis and Clark

In another universe, Pero encountered a Superman whose combat decisions and vulnerability to Luthor’s manipulation repeatedly frustrated him. He established a legal identity and residence in Metropolis, investigated LexCorp, and eventually offered his strength to Lois Lane and Mister Terrific’s rescue operation 127 128 129 130 134 135.

Inside Luthor’s pocket universe, Pero swallowed a black hole’s energy source and carried the exhausted Clark and other escapees to safety. He later confronted Ultraman, easily countering the clone’s attacks despite Luthor’s continued commands 138 145 147.

After the Dragon Vein evolved, Pero combined Dimensional Anchoring with pocket-universe and Kryptonian technology to build a portal in the Fortress of Solitude. He also adopted black Kryptonian battle armor 149.

Appearance

Pero is a muscular, black-haired man with a handsome, sculpted face 1 134.

Personality

Pero explicitly rejects becoming either an idealized savior or an indiscriminate tyrant. He describes his preferred identity as “a person with power” and believes abandoning his humanity would leave him without restraint. Nevertheless, he readily kills those he considers deserving and responds brutally to attacks or perceived corruption 54 80 147.

He is lazy about administration and planning, preferring to recruit capable people, provide overwhelming power, and intervene only when necessary. This informs both his development of the Akatsuki and his insistence that Lois and Mister Terrific organize Clark’s rescue themselves 8 23 135.

He also enjoys spectacle, teasing, and showing off. He compares reshaping the Akatsuki to a sandbox development game, deliberately stages conflicts, and learns molecular phasing partly to make an impressive entrance. Food and familiar flavors are recurring pleasures during his travels 22 27 97 103 134.

Solar Absorption and Bloodline Evolution

Sunlight strengthens Pero and supplies the energy required for his system-assisted bloodline evolutions 1 29.

• Direct exposure near and inside a star accelerates absorption far beyond planetary orbit 29.
