The spectacle inspired many people to pursue magic, but a month later Modera learned that most new apprentices had chosen Stromgarde over Dalaran and wondered whether Jiang Jie had planned it.

• Ansirem, Modera, Rhonin, and over a hundred Kirin Tor mages cast a levitation spell and raised the first island above Lake Lordamere.
• Broll Bearmantle, Velinde, and the Druids used magic to regrow branches and secure the island as Sky City's foundation.
• The mages raised more islands over five days, including Fenris Keep, while Lake Lordamere's water level fell by fifty meters.
• A wealthy Lordaeron merchant decided to move his family and business to Stromgarde so his son could study magic there.
• Modera and Ansirem expected the spectacle to bring apprentices and wealth to Dalaran, but a month later Modera learned that fewer than thirty percent of new apprentices had chosen Dalaran and over fifty percent had gone to Stromgarde.

Sky City continued to expand as Jiang Jie managed its affairs and helped bring gryphons and Moonkin there. After reaching the Xiantian Tenth Layer, he received an urgent summons from Cenarius.

• Brannock Blackheart's Earthen and a group of gnomes began building Sky City according to Xiao Feng's blueprints, while Druids cultivated its greenery and a secret surveillance system was installed.
• A High Elf ranger and her Half-Elf twins settled in Sky City, which opened tourist routes and lodging to visitors.
• Highlord Falstad protested Jiang Jie's taking gryphons and Moonkin from the Hinterlands, then changed his position after Jiang Jie agreed to help fight the Vilebranch Trolls.
• Jiang Jie left his hundred disciples in the Hinterlands to work with the Wildhammer Dwarves and teach martial arts in Stromgarde, while he traveled between Stromgarde and Sky City.

Jiang Jie accepted Cenarius’s request to retrieve Dragon’s Call from the Temple of Atal’Hakkar and help purify Eranikus. At the Sunken Temple, he and Anveena met Lord Itharius, who warned that the situation inside was worse than expected.

• Cenarius explained that the Nightmare had corrupted Eranikus and other green dragons, and asked Jiang Jie to find Dragon’s Call at the Temple of Atal’Hakkar.
• Jiang Jie agreed to help, brought Anveena, and flew with her on Sharpbeak to the Swamp of Sorrows.
• Jiang Jie and Anveena reached the Sunken Temple, where Anveena sensed the oppressive power of the Nightmare.
• Jiang Jie sensed an ancient green dragon inside the temple and found Lord Itharius waiting in the central courtyard.

Itharius explained the dangers and layout of the Temple of Atal'Hakkar and asked Jiang Jie to retrieve Dragon's Call while completing three tasks. At the Hall of Masks, Itharius killed corrupted drakonids and prepared to distract the Atal'ai trolls so Jiang Jie could enter the temple's core.

• Itharius told Jiang Jie that thousands of Atal'ai trolls had imprisoned and corrupted his kin, but the Nightmare prevented green dragons and druids from entering the temple's depths.
• Itharius showed Jiang Jie a map of the Pool of Sacrifice, the Den of the Chosen, the Sanctum of the Fallen God, and the Hall of the Sleeping, explaining that Jiang Jie needed to retrieve Dragon's Call and confront the threats inside.
• Jiang Jie realized that troll reinforcements could reach him while he fought Jammal'an the Prophet or Hakkar's avatar, and that nightmare drakonids could attack him while he faced Eranikus's shade.

• Jiang Jie and Anveena carefully crossed the Pool of Sacrifice, avoiding the corrupted dragonspawn and whelps.
• They found more than a hundred resurrected Atal'ai Trolls using Hakkar’s blood to corrupt imprisoned green dragons and gather blood for his resurrection.
• Itharius attacked elsewhere, drawing the Trolls’ attention and prompting Jammal'an the Prophet to summon Hakkar ahead of schedule.

Jiang Jie and Anveena fought through the Atal'ai Trolls and reached the Sanctum of the Fallen God, where Hakkar’s skeletal avatar had descended. Jin'do the Hexxer escaped toward Gurubashi to awaken the true Hakkar, while Jiang Jie stayed to confront the avatar.

• Anveena purified Jiang Jie as he broke free of the Trolls’ hexes and fought back with his chi.
• Jiang Jie freed the captive dragonkin, killed Jammal'an the Prophet, and rushed with Anveena toward the Sanctum of the Fallen God.
• Jiang Jie and Anveena entered the sacrificial hall and found Hakkar’s skeletal Wind Serpent avatar surrounded by Atal'ai priests.

Jiang Jie faced Hakkar’s avatar in the Temple of Atal’Hakkar, then let it feed on the dead so Pyralis could devour its strengthened soul. He left Pyralis to fight Hakkar and went to help Itharius deal with Eranikus and claim Dragon’s Call.

• Jiang Jie resisted Hakkar’s soul pressure with the Black Tortoise Longevity Art and shattered the bone serpent avatar, while the Atal’ai Trolls were killed by spells.
• Hakkar reassembled his avatar and devoured the souls and blood essence of the dead Trolls and Wind Serpents to grow stronger.
• Hakkar tried to seize Jiang Jie’s soul, but Jiang Jie revealed that he had allowed Hakkar to grow stronger so Pyralis could consume him.

Jiang Jie cleared the passage to Eranikus and purified four corrupted green drakes, then rushed toward the awakened Shade of Eranikus while the returning dragonkin and whelps threatened the temple. The drakes hesitated to fight their own kin, leaving Jiang Jie to face the powerful final enemy without their help.

• Jiang Jie learned that Itharius was holding off the enemies outside and that Hexxer Jin'do had led thousands of Atal'ai trolls west toward Zul'Gurub.
• Jiang Jie killed the dragonkin guarding the innermost passage and confronted Dreamscythe, Weaver, Morphaz, and Hazzas.
• Anveena noticed the four drakes were not fully corrupted, so Jiang Jie used the Moon Goddess's power to purify them and weaken the Nightmare's hold.
• The Shade of Eranikus awakened as the dragonkin and whelps returned, and Jiang Jie asked Dreamscythe to hold them off.

Jiang Jie and the four young dragons confronted nightmare creatures in Eranikus's lair, where the Shade of Eranikus tried to put Jiang Jie and Anveena under his control. As Eranikus raised his claw to kill them, Jiang Jie suddenly opened his eyes.

• Dreamscythe, Weaver, Morphaz, and Hazzas agreed to fight the nightmare dragons, and the four young dragons engaged them.
• Jiang Jie reached the end of the corridor and confronted the Shade of Eranikus, who offered to turn him into a nightmare green dragon.
• Eranikus used nightmare power to put Jiang Jie and Anveena to sleep, while Anveena and Xiao Feng failed to wake Jiang Jie.
• Eranikus approached the sleeping pair, briefly struggled against his corruption, and tried to warn them to run.

Jiang Jie and Anveena purified Eranikus’s shadow avatar and took Dragon’s Call, but the real Eranikus descended before they could escape the temple. Jiang Jie charged for the entrance with Anveena as the immense ancient green dragon appeared.

• Jiang Jie revealed that Cenarius, Tortolla, and Ysondre’s powers had protected him while he pretended to be asleep and waited for a chance to strike Eranikus’s avatar.
• Pyralis flew into Jiang Jie’s divine sword, and Jiang Jie severed Eranikus’s head and limbs while Anveena woke and joined him.
• Anveena prayed for Elune’s favor, and Jiang Jie kept attacking as the Moon Goddess’s power purified Eranikus’s avatar.
• After a minute, Eranikus’s mental will was driven away, his avatar vanished, and Jiang Jie took Dragon’s Call as the real Eranikus’s power began to descend.

Jiang Jie and the young dragons escaped Eranikus’s collapsing temple, but the corrupted dragon pursued them and overwhelmed Itharius. Jiang Jie fled west with Itharius while the young dragons followed, hoping he could still purify them.

• Jiang Jie escaped the collapsing temple with the four young dragons, but Eranikus flew after them and attacked with corrosive acid.
• Itharius intervened and forced Eranikus aside long enough for Jiang Jie and the young dragons to escape the temple grounds.
• Eranikus knocked Itharius into the lake with a single charge, and Dreamscythe explained that Eranikus was more than ten thousand years older and had long been the strongest green dragon.
• Jiang Jie realized the Emerald Nightmare had greatly increased Eranikus’s size and power, then urged Itharius and Dreamscythe to flee west.
• Itharius and Eranikus took to the sky in pursuit, while the young dragons decided to follow Jiang Jie in hopes that he could purify them.

Jiang Jie and the badly wounded Itharius fled Eranikus across the Swamp of Sorrows and reached Karazhan, where Jiang Jie hoped the ruined tower could protect them. Itharius entered expecting the tower to fall and resolved to sacrifice himself so Jiang Jie could carry Dragon’s Call away.

• Jiang Jie repeatedly slowed down to help Itharius escape Eranikus, suffering severe injuries while his attacks barely hurt the dragon.
• Cenarius told Jiang Jie that only a combined effort in Moonglade could purify Eranikus and urged him to deliver Dragon’s Call safely.
• Jiang Jie led Itharius out of the Swamp of Sorrows and into Deadwind Pass, where he spotted Karazhan.
• Jiang Jie urged the skeptical Itharius inside Karazhan, claiming the ruined tower was powerful enough to withstand Eranikus.

Jiang Jie returned to Karazhan badly injured with the ancient dragon Itharius and ordered Alturus to summon powerful allies, warning that the world was in danger. Alturus mistook their injuries for signs of a new Burning Legion invasion and began gathering help, while Aegwynn agreed to come after hearing an ancient dragon was involved.

• Alturus saw Jiang Jie and Itharius arrive badly wounded and feared a catastrophic threat.
• Jiang Jie ordered Alturus to summon Aegwynn, Leryda, Med'an, the Maiden of Virtue, and the Dalaran archmages before hurrying away with Itharius.

Eranikus attacked Karazhan, but the tower’s seven-colored barrier stopped his claws just short of the secondary tower. Jiang Jie and the others realized they were safe from the nightmare dragon’s assault for now.

• Jiang Jie and the others watched Eranikus approach Karazhan, while Med’an insisted the tower would hold and the others felt the dragon’s overwhelming presence.
• Eranikus paused on a nearby ridge, sensed the tower’s powerful energy, and challenged the defenders before flying toward Karazhan.
• Eranikus reached for the top of the secondary tower, triggering a seven-colored dome that enveloped both towers and blocked his claws.
• Eranikus used green dragon and nightmare power to strengthen his claws, but the barrier’s rippling energy stopped them a meter above the roof.

Eranikus repeatedly struck the rainbow barrier above Karazhan, creating violent storms that tossed everyone into the air and back to the ground. Jiang Jie and the Maiden of Virtue rescued the others into the tower, while Modera called for Alturus to be saved last.

• Eranikus crashed into the rainbow barrier, and the resulting storm threw Jiang Jie and the others against it.
• The barrier rebounded Eranikus and unleashed another storm, so Jiang Jie caught Tyr's Guard, Oryx, and Paltress with a hand of air.
• Eranikus fell against the barrier again, and Jiang Jie used Anveena's power and Corruption Thorns to anchor himself inside Karazhan.
• Jiang Jie rescued Paltress and then pulled others into Karazhan as Eranikus's impacts sent them rising and falling.

Jiang Jie and the defenders of Karazhan struggled to hold off Eranikus while waiting for Cenarius and Aegwynn. The chapter ended with Eranikus making part of the Emerald Dream overlap with Azeroth, prompting Jiang Jie to prepare for battle.

• Jiang Jie and the Maiden of Virtue rescued Alturus and the Archmages, while Eranikus recovered from the storm of bouncing.

Jiang Jie and his allies prepared to fight the corrupted green dragons and Nightmare Phantasms as the creatures threatened Karazhan’s barrier. Alturus celebrated bringing down a young dragon, only for the other mages to point out that it was still alive and that young dragons hardly counted as proper dragon-slaying.

• More than a dozen corrupted green dragons, including the ancient dragons Emeriss and Taerar, appeared where the two worlds overlapped.
• Nightmare Phantasms attacked and gravely wounded Oryx, so Jiang Jie assigned Paltress and the paladins to defend against them while he led the others toward the dragons.
• Alturus charged a Nightmare Phantasm and managed to hold off one of the powerful corrupted Druid souls.
• Alturus struck a young Nightmare dragon with Arcane Missiles and thought he had killed it, but it recovered and flew back into the air.

Alturus accidentally drew Taerar’s attention and then attacked him safely from behind the rainbow barrier, while Jiang Jie seized the opening to fight the ancient dragon. Jiang Jie severed Taerar’s neck, and Alturus celebrated his role in the victory.

• Dreamscythe, Weaver, Morphaz, and Hazzas joined the battle and killed a wounded Nightmare drake.
• Alturus’s misfired spell struck Taerar, who charged him but could not cross the rainbow barrier.
• Jiang Jie leaped onto Taerar’s back and drove his divine sword into the dragon’s neck.
• Jiang Jie called on Anveena for protection and ordered Alturus to hold off Taerar’s duplicates; Alturus fought hard to prove himself worthy of staying at Karazhan.

As the defenders struggled to hold off Eranikus and the nightmare dragons, Aegwynn finally arrived at Karazhan and took charge. She ordered everyone to gather at the Master's Terrace to use Karazhan's last remaining means of attack, while Itharius was left badly wounded and in need of healing.

• The four young dragons killed another nightmare drake, while Ansirem, Modera, Rhonin, Med'an, Alturus, and Itharius fought to contain the nightmare dragons and Eranikus.
• Aegwynn arrived from Karazhan and explained that she had dealt with a demon in the Tomb of Sargeras and driven Kazzak away from the Dark Portal.
• Aegwynn teleported Alturus to investigate the Dark Portal and find out where Archimonde had gone, despite Jiang Jie’s objection that the battle needed him.
• Aegwynn admitted that Eranikus was stronger than Krasus and that she could not defeat him, then ordered the defenders to kill the other nightmare dragons and hold Eranikus back.

Aegwynn used Karazhan’s rainbow barrier to destroy most of the Nightmare green dragons, but spared its energy when a powerful ally arrived. Jiang Jie flew out to attack the wounded Emeriss as the ancient red dragon Krasus approached.

• Aegwynn silenced the four young dragons and led the mages into Karazhan while Jiang Jie guarded Itharius and watched the Nightmare green dragons attack the barrier.
• Aegwynn and the mages formed rainbow swords that killed many Nightmare green dragons and badly wounded Emeriss, though Eranikus escaped unharmed.
• Aegwynn prepared to spend more of the barrier’s energy on a giant sword, then dismissed it when she saw an ally approaching.

Jiang Jie killed Emeriss with a powerful sword strike while Krasus fought Eranikus in the sky. After learning that green dragons’ souls escaped to the Emerald Dream, Jiang Jie flew to harass Eranikus as Krasus struggled against him.

• Krasus confronted Eranikus, and the two dragons began fighting in the sky while Jiang Jie faced the fleeing Emeriss.
• Jiang Jie struck Emeriss with his Eastern Peak Sword and severed her head, sending her corpse crashing into the ground.
• Aegwynn explained that Emeriss and other green dragons could return through the Emerald Dream unless they were killed there too.

Aegwynn planned to use the Keeper’s Forge and gathered mage power to strike at the force empowering Eranikus. Meanwhile, Jiang Jie and Krasus continued fighting Eranikus, leaving Krasus badly wounded as they retreated to the Master’s Terrace.

• Med’an and the archmages asked Aegwynn to help kill Eranikus, but she warned that a powerful force behind him was supplying him with power.
• Aegwynn ordered Ansirem to gather mages so she could create an artificial god of magic and said she would retrieve the real Keeper’s Forge from the Hall of the Keeper.
• Jiang Jie judged that Eranikus’s Nightmare Lord-given demigod power had put him beyond Krasus’s strength, while Jiang Jie harried the dragon throughout their long battle.
• Jiang Jie pierced Eranikus between his scales, then fled to the Master’s Terrace as Krasus disengaged in his wounded High Elf form.

Aegwynn summoned Alodi and prepared to use the Keeper’s Forge to draw on the power of other mages against Eranikus and Xavius. After locating Malfurion and the others through Jiang Jie, she left to bring them back while ordering Jiang Jie to distract Eranikus and Alodi to teach Krasus how to use the forge.

• Krasus arrived at Karazhan and told Itharius that Alexstrasza could not come because she was guarding Yogg-Saron.
• Jiang Jie warned Krasus that Xavius was the true threat, while Eranikus used falling boulders to drain Karazhan’s rainbow barrier.
• Aegwynn summoned Jiang Jie and Krasus to the tower and revealed that she planned to use the Keeper’s Forge against Eranikus and Xavius.
• Aegwynn called Alodi, the first Guardian, out of the Keeper’s Forge and explained that Xavius had imprisoned Ysera and corrupted the Emerald Dream.
