The search for Zhang Yuanshan and Ninety-Seven continued as humanity developed new spatial weapons and prepared to probe suspected locations of the Treant Civilization.

• The Fish Horse Star fleet destroyed the Grim Slayers, but a small spacecraft carrying Wei Kaiyuan and Guan Sengping escaped Mu Star and asked humanity for help.
• Hu Yu brought Wei Kaiyuan and Guan Sengping to the Nebula Region, then traveled with a large fleet to the Second Spiral Arm, where the two reunited with their people.
• Hu Yu met Head of State Li Shun, who offered spatial technology in exchange for humanity joining his civilization, then threatened to seize the fleet when Hu Yu refused.
• Gao Jianchuan rescued Hu Yu and the academicians, and the Grim Slayers took control of Li Shun’s planet, though Li Shun escaped and left his secrets undiscovered.
• Hu Yu settled his fleet in JD6, named the Aquila branch’s warships the Gyrfalcon, and learned from Number One that Li Shun’s people had unusual consciousness fields.

Hu Yu formed an alliance with the Tree Race and led a massive operation to free its captives from the Far Watcher Civilization. The rescue succeeded, but the Heavenly Peak Civilization intervened afterward, and Hu Yu sought answers from Daozi.

• Hu Yu brought Ninety-Seven and Zhang Yuanshan to the Tree Race, where the patriarch restored Ninety-Seven and began a thousand-year treatment for Zhang Yuanshan.
• The Tree Race revealed its history of devastation and asked Hu Yu to rescue its captives from the Far Watcher Civilization, whose hidden fleet numbered over a hundred billion warships.
• Ninety-Seven urged the Tree Race to stop hiding, and the patriarch eventually agreed to join the Star Ring Alliance and relocate to Human Civilization territory.
• Humanity studied captured Far Watcher technology, developed new weapons, and worked with the Tree Race to devise a Reversed State sphere that could enclose the enemy fleet.

Hu Yu and the alliance prepared to free the Xuan Star Civilization from Fish Horse Star control while studying the Insect Race and developing a way to assassinate Xuan Star’s leader. After humanity’s stellar explosions disrupted Xuan Star’s territory and an insect swarm trapped its evacuation fleet, the alliance sent Reapers and Stingers to help.

• Mr. Daozi revealed humanity’s origins, warned Hu Yu about the Insect Race’s hidden patron, and advised the alliance to strengthen itself and recruit the Xuan Star Civilization.
• The alliance studied Mr. Daozi’s fifteen-star system, reunited the Tree Race’s divided princes, and followed the Reversed State membrane’s disappearance as the surrounding stars collapsed.
• Hu Yu’s forces rescued the Grim Slayers from two Insect Kings, and Academician Xiao captured and studied the kings before a linked crab warned, “Humans, run!”
• Hu Yu gathered the alliance to defeat the Mu Star Civilization and recruit Xuan Star, while its leaders developed an assassination plan using the secret four-dimensional communication network.
• Humanity used entangled photons to expose the Xuan Star leader, then allied fleets detonated more than a thousand stars to disrupt Xuan Star’s territory and draw its leader out.

While the expedition advanced, Hu Yu’s forces contained a swarm threatening the Eastern Pearl Civilization, then the fleet encountered a sudden emptiness in the insect zone.

• The Xuan Star Civilization abandoned its plan to move an antimatter star, broke with the Fish Horse Star Civilization, and Bi Cha led its fleet away after the Xuan Star leader took his own life.
• The allied fleet destroyed the Fish Horse Star warships in Mu Star territory, rescued surviving human captives, and settled them on a remote planet under machine-tower supervision.
• The Carina Civilization joined the Star Ring Alliance, and Dongdong warned Hu Yu about the Fish Horse Star Civilization and described a dangerous defense system near the Matter River.
• Hu Yu approved a mission to reach the Matter River, and Academician Xiao disguised a hundred thousand Reapers as insect kings while Hu Yu reinforced the expedition fleet.
