Ning Rongrong comes from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, whose resources include two Titled Douluo, powerful disciples, and partnerships with other sects. Her father has already warned her about the importance of earning things through her own efforts 28.

At Shrek Academy’s entrance examination, she qualifies to bypass a test through her Soul Power. During the fourth test, Zhao Wuji injures her alongside Xiao Wu and Zhu Zhuqing. After the new students join the academy, Flender keeps Rongrong and Oscar behind for specialized support-type training 20 21 27.

Conflict with Dai Mubai

Following criticism from Flender, Rongrong retreats to the girls’ dormitory in tears. Qi Ling challenges her to distinguish her own achievements from her sect’s power. She resolves to remain at Shrek and prove that she is no worse than the other students, although she initially refuses to accompany him to the Great Soul Arena 28.

That evening, she clashes with an enraged Dai Mubai, condemning his treatment of Zhu Zhuqing and mocking him despite his threats. His released Soul Power sends her flying and causes internal injuries. Qi Ling restrains him before he can follow with a tiger-claw strike 28 29.

Humiliated by her helplessness, Rongrong offers Tang San and Oscar money, Soul Bones, and sect backing to help kill Dai Mubai; both refuse. Qi Le Rongrong Combination

Qi Ling brings Rongrong into two-on-two arena competition, where each victory pays ten Gold Soul Coins. They register as the Qi Le Rongrong Combination, with the team name added to their Iron Soul Badges. Rongrong rejects his proposed five-coin fee per match and insists that her winnings belong to her 36.

Their first opponents are the assassin sisters Ye Mingzhu and Ye Mingyue, the Killer Combination. Rongrong boosts Qi Ling’s strength and speed, but the sisters repeatedly exploit her vulnerability to force him into defensive positions. Qi Ling ultimately throws Rongrong into the air to remove her from the sisters’ attack paths, defeats both with Tyrant Dragon Fist: Twin Dragons Meet, and catches her. During a later arena training session, the combination is matched against Dai Mubai and Ma Hongjun. Qi Ling remembers his promise to Rongrong and uses the legitimate match to teach Dai Mubai a lesson, defeating both opponents without seriously injuring them 88.

Journey to the Star Dou Great Forest

After losing a wager over Oscar’s breakthrough to level thirty, Rongrong kisses Qi Ling on the cheek. Before the expedition, Flender sends her to fetch him; she picks his dormitory lock and accidentally discovers him unclothed after cultivation 41 42.

During the journey, Qi Ling helps her find an opening to support the other students despite their lingering estrangement. She maintains a group speed boost for seven hours before exhausting herself, after which he carries her while she sleeps 43.

At the roadside inn, Ye Zhiqiu targets Rongrong with Black Water Surge. Qi Ling shields her with his cloak, and she buffs him before he defeats the Soul King. She subsequently notices his concealed hand injury and bandages it 45 46.

In the forest, Rongrong and Xiao Wu become jealous of Meng Yiran’s closeness to Qi Ling and follow the pair during the Soul Ring search. When Ma Hongjun requires treatment for venom poisoning, Rongrong withdraws with Zhao Wuji and the others while Qi Ling and Meng Yiran remain behind 49 50.

Sect interests and continued Shrek training

After returning to Shrek, Rongrong approaches Tang San about obtaining Hidden Weapons for support-type Soul Masters, recognizing their potential to improve her sect's ability to defend itself. When she returns home, Ning Fengzhi, Chen Xin, and Gu Rong are astonished that she has gained ten levels in a year. Initially fearing that harmful cultivation methods have consumed her potential, they are reassured by her explanation and the visible evolution of her Martial Soul. Rongrong names it the Dragon-Patterned Glazed Tile Pagoda, preferring that name to Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda 191 192.

The evolution overcomes the original pagoda's seven-ring limitation and grants additional effects beyond those of the clan's recorded Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda. Rongrong explains its expanded support range and immunity to mental and soul attacks while active. She associates the dragon pattern with Qi Ling protecting her 192.

Dragon's Glory and the Seven-Apertured Exquisite Heart

Rongrong joins Dragon's Glory despite the responsibilities associated with her likely succession to her father's sect. Qi Ling entrusts her with all of his and Tang San's dealings with the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, including transactions worth tens of millions. During a later Soul Ring hunt, Qi Ling brings her to a safe location within a poison formation, where she kills the Qilin Armor Beast and begins absorbing its Soul Ring under Liu Erlong's protection 231.

In another training battle against Qi Ling, her enhancements enable the Seven Devils to unleash powerful coordinated attacks. He again attempts to neutralize her by breaking through their formation, but Zhu Zhuqing intercepts him before he reaches her 244.

Frustrated by Tang San's rapid progress and eager to become strong like Zhu Zhuqing, Rongrong asks Qi Ling for further help. Administration and the five-year reunion

After the others depart for their individual training, Rongrong remains to wait for Qi Ling and escort him to the imperial palace to receive his rewards. She persuades him to promise her seven days of leisure together. At the palace, she later introduces him to Princess Xue Ke after Emperor Xue Ye appoints him the princess's teacher 339 340.

Rongrong and Xue Ke manage Qi Ling's fief during his absences. Over the next five years, Rongrong becomes an accomplished administrator, to the point that Qi Ling believes she could take over management of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect without difficulty 362 416.

At the five-year reunion, she embraces Zhu Zhuqing and exchanges news with her. The two discuss Qi Ling's romantic restraint, with Rongrong complaining that he has made no advances despite their frequent time together. She also complains that he leaves the work of governing his fief to her and Xue Ke 418.

During the subsequent exhibition match, she reveals her six-ring Soul Emperor cultivation and nine-story pagoda to the watching Shrek students. Even after Qi Ling defeats the other four participating combatants, she refuses to surrender and taunts him, relying on his reluctance to strike her publicly. Defense and reconstruction of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect

When Spirit Hall declares war on the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, many former associates abandon it. Distressed by her father's condition and the sect's isolation, Rongrong is moved to tears when Qi Ling pledges Dragon's Glory's support. Speaking as the sect's future master, she swears that it will remain Dragon's Glory's loyal ally for as long as her family leads it. At the Blacksmith Association auction, Rongrong competes with Bishop Miles and helps drive the price of profound iron to one million Gold Soul Coins before Qi Ling lets Miles purchase it. She also bids against Miles for the Eight Treasure Wishful Soft Armor, which Qi Ling ultimately secures with a hundred-million-coin bid 585.

At the Vast Sea Great Soul Arena, the manager replaces her and Qi Ling's scheduled opponents with the Soul Douluo Squid King Brothers. Qi Ling encourages Rongrong to take charge despite her support specialization. As a Soul Saint, she provides a total 140% enhancement to Qi Ling when using her Martial Soul Avatar. She accompanies him and Shui Bing'er on the ascent toward Dragon God Island, supporting him at high altitude before taking shelter within Shui Bing'er's Ice Crystal Phoenix nirvana barrier.
