Background / History
Transmigration and Nuoding Academy
Qi Ling awakens in the body of a seriously injured six-year-old after Yu Xiaogang rescues him from a forest. Recognizing Yu Xiaogang from Douluo, he realizes that he has transmigrated. The God-Level Selection System offers him another transmigration or a life in this world; he chooses to stay 1.
His Martial Soul awakening attracts Spirit Hall’s attention, prompting Father Fei Luoma to offer him resources, education, and an audience with the Pope. Qi Ling refuses because he does not want to take orders or become bound to an organization. He remains at Nuoding Academy and receives the Mysterious Heaven Skill for his choice 2 4.
In Dorm Seven, he befriends Tang San and spars with Xiao Wu. He later confronts Xiao Da for threatening to make Xiao Wu his pet, defeats the group’s Soul Masters, and orders Wang Sheng to slap Xiao Da one hundred times. Despite the working students’ admiration, Qi Ling insists that they recognize Xiao Wu as their leader 5 10 11.
Qi Ling challenges Lu Xuan’s outdated teaching, particularly the claim that supposedly worthless Martial Souls doom their owners to failure. Their dispute leads to a duel in which Qi Ling stuns Lu Xuan, stops his finishing punch, and calls the match a draw. During a later visit to Tang San’s home, Qi Ling, Tang San, and Xiao Wu become sworn siblings 12 15 16.
Joining Shrek Academy
On reaching Suotuo City, Qi Ling defeats Dai Mubai with Tyrant Dragon Fist during a hotel dispute. At Shrek Academy’s entrance examinations, he defeats ten Soul Grandmasters with one Nine Heavens Dragon Roar before proceeding to Zhao Wuji’s assessment 18 20 21.
Finding his companions injured, Qi Ling challenges Zhao Wuji. He obtains permission to seal three of the teacher’s Soul Rings, then switches from the Divine Dragon Emperor to the Blood Devil Emperor when direct attacks prove insufficient. By draining Zhao Wuji’s Soul Power, he exhausts and defeats him, securing admission for the group 21 22 23 24 25.
His decision to join Shrek rewards him with the Nine Revolutions True Dragon Art. He adopts it after six years of practicing the Mysterious Heaven Skill, judging the new technique better suited to his preference for frontal combat 27.
Great Soul Arena
Qi Ling helps Ning Rongrong confront her dependence on her family’s status. After stopping Dai Mubai from attacking her, he promises to teach Dai Mubai a lesson in exchange for one hundred Gold Soul Coins—but accepts only money Rongrong earns herself 28 29.
He also heals Zhu Zhuqing after Zhang Lei gravely injures her. When she asks him to leave Zhang Lei alive and strong enough for a future rematch, Qi Ling agrees. He defeats Zhang Lei using the Blood Devil Emperor and Bone-Dissolving Soft Palm, preserving Zhu Zhuqing’s opportunity to seek her own victory 30 32 34 35.
Qi Ling partners with Ning Rongrong as the Qi Le Rongrong Combination. Against the assassin sisters Ye Mingzhu and Ye Mingyue, he takes their Blood Cross Slash while protecting Rongrong, then defeats both with Tyrant Dragon Fist: Twin Dragons Meet. The performance prompts an unidentified faction’s young master to order covert observation and forbid hostility toward him 36 39 40.
Star Dou Great Forest Expedition
Seeking his third Soul Ring, Qi Ling accompanies Shrek Academy to the Star Dou Great Forest. The Wheel of Fate points toward his desired ring, and he completes his second-stage True Dragon Body before departure. On the journey, he protects Ning Rongrong from Ye Zhiqiu and breaks the Soul King’s Black Tortoise shell with Super: Tyrant Dragon Fist 42 45.
During the dispute over a Phoenix-tail Crested Serpent, Qi Ling recognizes that Chao Tianxiang is delaying them until Dragon Duke arrives. He takes Meng Yiran hostage to cover the group’s withdrawal, then promises to help her obtain a suitable Soul Ring. He later uses the damaged Immortal-Binding Rope to prevent her escape 48 49.
When Ma Hongjun is poisoned, Qi Ling refuses to abandon him for a Soul Ring. He sends the others back to town for treatment while remaining with Meng Yiran to investigate a nearby dragon. He also obtains the divine-grade Three Thousand Lightning Movement technique during this expedition 50.
The expedition also highlights his unusual connection with his sworn siblings. Xiao Wu explains that Qi Ling has previously sensed danger to her and Tang San, while she has developed a limited reciprocal sense of danger to him. This perception is linked to the Divine Dragon Emperor’s innate ability to perceive heaven’s will and the fortunes of those closest to its bearer 53.
Shrek Training and the Imperial Fighting Team
During subsequent training, Qi Ling demonstrates Golden Sacred Dragon Armor against his companions’ attacks. Its defenses leave Tang San unable to injure him even with the Godly Zhuge Crossbow. In a later group exercise, Qi Ling defeats the Shrek Seven Devils within the incense-stick time limit, first using Lightning Instant to eliminate Ning Rongrong’s support and then dismantling their formation. Tang San, Zhu Zhuqing, and Xiao Wu continue fighting rather than surrender, earning his approval 68 69 71.
After Tang San and Xiao Wu are injured by the Imperial Fighting Team, Qi Ling chooses to defeat the opposing team alone. He suppresses Yu Tianba’s Martial Soul, withstands Great Shocking Thunder with Golden Sacred Dragon Armor, and breaks the Shi brothers’ tortoise-shell defenses with Twin Dragons Meet. His companions later describe his anger over the injuries as unusually frightening 108 113 114 119.
Qi Ling’s Divine Dragon Emperor later reacts autonomously when Meng Shenji, Bai Baoshan, and Zhi Lin subject him to their combined Soul Douluo pressure. Its phantom drives all three back and disrupts their Soul Power. Qi Ling checks that they are unharmed, and Meng Shenji accepts responsibility for underestimating him 144.
Teaching at Heaven Dou Academy and the Qilin Team
Qi Ling becomes a teacher at Heaven Dou Academy, where his strength and refusal to defer to privileged students win him recognition. After defeating the Soul Emperor Huang Lizong, he collapses from exhaustion and injuries. The academy’s students, Education Committee, and emperor subsequently press him to lead the Imperial Fighting Team 206 210 214.
Rather than conceal the offer from Shrek, he consults Yu Xiaogang and Tang San. Tang San promises to fulfill his own duties as captain while Qi Ling is away, and Qi Ling becomes more willing to accept the new responsibility 214 215.
As a teacher, Qi Ling identifies Hua Yimeng and Hua Yidie’s apparently problematic Purple Gold Bells as rare Symbiotic Martial Souls. He explains their shared ring characteristics, resonant Soul Skills, and evolving innate ring, then guides them in using their combined Sound Blade 220 221 223.
During the tournament campaign, Qi Ling absorbs a sixty-thousand-year fourth ring for the Blood Devil Emperor and develops Shadow Transformation. Against Shui Bing’er’s Ice Phoenix, he awakens Blood Devil Slays Heaven’s devouring function and destroys the phoenix by releasing stored damage. The Qilin Team ultimately wins first place in the continent-wide Soul Master Tournament 242 243 284 425.
Emperor Xue Ye offers to make him Princess Xue Ke’s teacher if the Qilin Team wins. Ning Fengzhi also introduces him to Xue Qinghe, whose powerful female guard makes Qi Ling suspect a possible Spirit Hall connection. Xue Ke subsequently becomes his disciple and an important assistant in governing his territory 253 344 533.
Establishing Dragon’s Glory and Further Cultivation
Qi Ling develops his first fief into Dragon’s Glory’s initial base, spending a year governing the city with substantial help from Ning Rongrong and Xue Ke. Xue Ke proves especially talented at administration and leadership 344.
He cultivates alongside Qian Renxue using an Extreme Cultivation Method that strengthens both the body and an unyielding will. The Tyrant Dragon King’s sacrifice raises him to level 55, and further practice of the Nine Revolutions True Dragon Art allows him to compete successfully against Qian Renxue despite her Soul Saint cultivation 348 353 355.
While visiting Tang Hao and Tang San, Qi Ling applies Dragon Controlling Force to all eighty-one strikes of the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer. Tang Hao recognizes that he has converted resistance into assistance and surpassed the conventional technique. Qi Ling then redirects a waterfall until it flows backward 357.
Slaughter City, Dragon Valley, and the Five-Year Reunion
Qi Ling enters Slaughter City with Qian Renxue and Jian Lan. Xiao Ye joins them while concealing her identity from Qian Renxue and asks Qi Ling to protect her secret. Over the following year, he cultivates his killing aura and accumulates seventy-two victories in the Hell Slaughter Arena, remaining the city’s most feared prospective enemy 379 384 385.
After a later half-year absence, Qi Ling returns with a more restrained and magnanimous bearing. During his adventures in Dragon Valley, he saves the Dragon Clan from its predicament and receives the voluntary sacrifice of the 890,000-year-old White Spirit Dragon King as the Divine Dragon Emperor’s sixth ring 405 552.
Qi Ling supports Tang San’s return to the Clear Sky Sect; his potential as either an ally or an enemy becomes an important consideration for its elders. He later reunites with Zhu Zhuqing after five years apart, defeats her disguised challenge through predictive vision and endurance management, and embraces her when she admits how much she has missed him 413 417 418.
Alliance Leadership and Conflict with Spirit Hall
As Qian Xunji’s ambitions become clear, Qi Ling’s allies agree that he should lead their united resistance. He accepts the burden of decisions affecting many lives, although the responsibility troubles him 460.
Against the rank-97 Super Douluo Lei Xiong, Qi Ling combines Xuanyuan Sword techniques, Holy Dragon Judgment, Ring Sealing Technique, and a coordinated volley from ten Barrett Sniper Rifles. Lei Xiong is left barely alive and rescued by Spirit Hall, while Qi Ling collapses from exhaustion. Qi Ling regards the victory as dependent on combined tactics rather than a fair individual defeat 485 486.
When Bibi Dong’s situation drives him into a dangerous emotional crisis, his baleful Qi becomes difficult to control. Xiao Wu first helps calm him, and Qian Renxue later embraces and reassures him after he nearly harms her during another loss of control. He subsequently infiltrates Spirit City to take Bibi Dong away, arranging for Tang San to assume leadership if necessary 510 511 519 521 525.
During the Spirit City confrontation, Qian Daoliu identifies Qi Ling as the Dragon Splendor Alliance Leader responsible for destroying forty thousand troops, delaying their plans, and saving the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. Qi Ling acknowledges that he cannot defeat Qian Daoliu directly but refuses to be easily detained 525.
After Xue Qinghe seizes the Heaven Dou imperial palace, Qi Ling goes alone to rescue Xue Ke while instructing Flender to gather their forces secretly. He rejects Xue Qinghe’s offer of wealth and glory in exchange for service 533.
Dragon God Succession and Divine Devil Fusion
The Life and Death Lotus raises Qi Ling to level 70, allowing him to seek his seventh Soul Rings. He returns to Dragon Valley, where he completes the Dragon God’s succession ritual within the Dragon Tomb. Emerging in Divine Dragon form, he defeats Bakal for injuring Xiao Wu. At Bai Ling’er’s request, he spares Bakal and sentences him to guard the tomb for one hundred thousand years 547 552 562.
Qi Ling later battles the level-99 Qian Xunji, revealing a Million-Year seventh ring and Blood Devil Avatar. Although both are left severely depleted, Qi Ling forces Qian Xunji to acknowledge his disadvantage and subsequently arranges for Xiao Ye and Uncle Li to lift Qian Xunji’s curse in exchange for the Soul Bone and Hundred Thousand Year Soul Ring taken from Xiao Wu’s mother. Qi Ling seals the delivered ring without harming Qian Xunji 592 593 595 596.
While protecting Bibi Dong from Qian Daoliu, Qi Ling withstands Nine Swords of the Heavenly God in Divine Dragon form but approaches his internal limit. He then attempts to fuse his opposing Martial Souls, producing Divine Devil Body with an initial ten-heartbeat limit. His subsequent advancement brings him to level 80 and deepens his understanding of the laws of power 653 654 659.
Sea God Island and Later Continental Affairs
After Bibi Dong departs for her lunar divine test, Qi Ling leaves Dragon’s Glory in his companions’ care and travels with Dragon Maiden to Sea God Island. He reunites with the others undertaking the Sea God Test 660.
On Dragon God Island, Dragon Maiden extracts part of his Dragon Soul to help Zhu Zhuqing raise her Soul Ring beyond five hundred thousand years. Qi Ling then prepares to absorb his own God-Given Soul Ring. Later, he assists his companions’ preparations for the island guardians’ challenges while respecting his promise to Bo Saixi not to continue helping them directly 698 713.
Qi Ling’s independent True Dragon Qi enables him to subdue the physically immune Ghost Shark, which he offers to spare in exchange for guidance to the Heart of the Ocean. He also rescues Meng Yiran during her independent ring hunt and offers to select a suitable ring for her Soul Emperor breakthrough 747 783.
He fights Tang Chen on even terms using punches, golden arrows, the Hou Yi Bow, and swordsmanship. Qi Ling proposes deciding the duel with one final move while offering information about the Clear Sky Sect, prompting Tang Chen to regain his reason and restore his weapon to the Clear Sky Hammer 787.
Otherworld Competition and Clear Sky Sect Training
During a competition involving cultivators from other worlds, Qi Ling uses the identity Bai Di and cooperates with Kurumi. His old enemies, including Qian Xunji, Xue Qinghe, and Cao Yang, organize against him, although Xue Qinghe mistakenly identifies another contestant as Qi Ling 824 833 839 840 856.
Qi Ling kills Jin Suo, Yin Suo, and Tu Yan during a confrontation in which Tu Yan takes Xiaoyu hostage. He rescues her by switching places with her through his eighth Soul Skill, then discovers that Tu Yan’s small dagger can penetrate his otherwise formidable body 829.
After a further ring acquisition, Qi Ling knowingly enters a trap to rescue Luna. He crosses a formation suppressing movement techniques, shields her, and summons the Demon God Halberd when Qian Jiyin, Hao Long, and Chu Ling confront him together 887.
Qi Ling later earns the Clear Sky Sect’s complete respect after displaying strength greater than Tang Chen’s while subduing a demonized Tang San. During a short stay, he trains the sect by allowing its elders and Soul Saints to attack his defenses without evasion or retaliation, then prepares a second lesson focused on enduring attacks and recovering their lost courage 917.
Mission in an Unknown World
Qi Ling enters an unfamiliar martial world while seeking Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing. Initially believing himself reduced to an ordinary person, he discovers that his speed and physical toughness remain intact. Yang Qianqiong offers to help him meet Ning Rongrong, whom she identifies as her hall master 971 972 974.
Local officials treat him as a secret, high-ranking commander, while assassins denounce him as a corrupt official. Their blades fail to injure him. He seeks help through Yang Qianqiong and her senior sister Hua Wanzi while trying to understand the identity assigned to him in this world 974 976 977.
Qi Ling subsequently works to take control of the Brocade Guard, relying on Vermilion Bird’s intelligence and strategy while providing overall direction. He cooperates with Ning Rongrong and the opposing war effort, but a military stalemate threatens his mission’s time limit 987 989. He later returns and reassures Xiao Wu that her presence matters to him independently of her battlefield strength 992.
Godhood and the Underworld
In later competition, Qi Ling fights the level-20 Abyssal Crocodile King using the God-Demon Body and Demon God Battle Skill: Annihilation in All Ten Directions. His attack severely wounds it, but its retaliatory icy beam shatters his Dragon God Armor, pierces his shoulder, and freezes his right arm 1020.
Qi Ling defeats Qian Jiyin decisively after opening their match with Star Shattering. Against Chu Ling, he changes tactics by assuming Divine Dragon form and using an innate trait that increases his imposing presence as he suffers wounds 1058 1067 1068.
By this period, he has resolved his uncertainty about being the reincarnation of the Dragon God and Blood Devil: he regards his present self and the bonds he has formed as proof that he is an independent person. He later obtains Godhood, which alters his presence so profoundly that even familiar companions become cautious around him 1072 1091.
In the Underworld, Qi Ling and Bibi Dong ruin the Ghost King’s plans but face a closing escape portal. Although Bibi Dong intends to empower him to escape first, Qi Ling breaks the Ghost King’s barrier with Meteor Burst and swaps places with her, sending her through the portal while remaining behind. The Ghost King defeats and captures him 1109.
Imprisoned with his power suppressed, Qi Ling meets the Ghost King’s daughter, Shasha. Her curiosity and conversational manner differ from the other Ghost Clan members he has encountered. When she later releases him, he refuses to exploit her trust to flee, hoping instead to find another way to resolve his predicament 1110 1113.
Appearance
- Normal appearance: Black hair, black eyes, and delicate features as a child; later described with a tall, straight figure and strikingly handsome features 1 17.
- Martial Soul marks: The Divine Dragon Emperor’s mark appears on his right hand, while the Blood Devil Emperor’s appears on his left 18 23.
- Blood Devil Emperor possession: His hair and eyes turn wine-red, his facial lines soften, and his bearing becomes elegant and mysterious 23.
- Fiery Eyes and Golden Pupils: His eyes turn gold when the technique is active 14.
- Body tempering: The first tempering visibly improves his physique and appearance, drawing comments from his fellow students 27.
- Later bearing: Returns from Dragon Valley with authority tempered by magnanimity and forbearance, described as wielding grace and might together 405.
- Divine Dragon form: Resembles a traditional Chinese dragon, with a long body, powerful limbs, and extraordinary majesty 562.
- Blood Devil Avatar: His skin reddens, devil horns grow from his head, and his muscles swell. He can retain a compact body rather than enlarge himself 593.
- Divine Devil Body: Combines the Divine Dragon Emperor’s nobility and the Blood Devil Emperor’s elegance into an exceptionally refined bearing 654.
- After obtaining Godhood: His presence changes involuntarily and requires deliberate restraint or disguise to conceal 1091.
Personality
Qi Ling values freedom over institutional backing. Having already spent a lifetime risking himself for others, he wants happiness and independence rather than another life under orders. This is the central reason he rejects Spirit Hall’s recruitment offer 4.
He is blunt, confident, and fond of teasing opponents. He prefers settling conflicts himself and enjoys testing strength head-on, but he is also tactically calculating: he undermines the entrance applicants’ trust, adapts his fighting style against Zhao Wuji, and identifies Chao Tianxiang’s delaying tactic 2 9 21 23 48.
His companions’ safety takes priority over an easy victory. Flender identifies this loyalty as a potential weakness against assassins, who can exploit his need to protect Rongrong. Qi Ling nevertheless refuses to choose between protecting her and winning 37 40.
His severity is selective. He humiliates bullies and threatens enemies, yet spares Lu Xuan a finishing blow and respects Zhu Zhuqing’s wish to defeat Zhang Lei herself. When guiding Rongrong, he combines protection with demands that she earn recognition through her own efforts 3 10 15 28 29 32.
As a teacher, he values perseverance as much as immediate victory. He approves when Tang San, Zhu Zhuqing, and Xiao Wu continue fighting despite their disadvantage, and he recognizes overlooked potential in the Hua sisters’ Martial Souls 71 220 221. His ambitions extend beyond ordinary continental success; he tells Zhu Zhuqing that they lie “in the heavens” 74.
His attachment to loved ones can also overwhelm his self-control. Fear and grief concerning Bibi Dong cause his baleful Qi to run wild, requiring reassurance from Xiao Wu and Qian Renxue. Bibi Dong later identifies his habit of shouldering every burden alone and urges him to trust his companions to share the struggle 510 511 519 929.
Qi Ling respects capable opponents who rely on strength rather than deceit. Despite Chu Ling’s repeated opposition, he admires his straightforward fighting style. He also sometimes preserves a powerful adversary because killing such an opponent would be wasteful 778 1067.
His commitment to personal integrity persists even in captivity. He refuses to escape by abusing Shasha’s trust, although she belongs to an enemy people. Likewise, he rejects the idea that a previous incarnation determines his present identity, affirming that he is Qi Ling rather than merely the Dragon God or Blood Devil reborn 1072 1113.
Abilities & Skills
God-Level Selection System
- Presents choices with rewards including talents, Soul Power, cultivation methods, techniques, equipment, and relationship improvements 1 4 9 32.
- Can supply Soul Rings matched to a selected Martial Soul, as with the Blood Bat Demon ring 13.
- Qi Ling weighs rewards against suitability and risk; he rejects an uncertain-attribute ring rather than compromise his development 6.
- Later rewards include a Soul Power level, the Guardian Crystal, and a Starry Sky Barrier Admission Ticket for choosing to confront the Imperial Fighting Team alone 108 129.
- Item Enhancement Function: Allows enhancement of materials, medicinal herbs, tools, and talismans. Qi Ling uses it to upgrade his B-rank talismans to A-rank 414.
Divine Dragon Emperor
- Possession and pressure: Produces a majestic dragon phantom and an intimidating presence that psychologically suppresses weaker opponents. Physical weakening through this pressure is initially described as a future development rather than an early attained ability 10 21. Later, its pressure dispels Yu Tianba’s Tyrant Dragon phantom, and its autonomous response to three Soul Douluos drives them back while disrupting their Soul Power 113 144.
- Perception of heaven’s will: Innately senses the fortunes and misfortunes of people closest to Qi Ling, accounting for his ability to detect danger to Tang San and Xiao Wu. This is a separate faculty from the movement-reading prediction of his eye technique 53.
- First Soul Skill — Nine Heavens Dragon Roar: Stuns enemies and can forcibly end Martial Soul Possession. Its effectiveness depends on the strength gap; Zhao Wuji breaks free before Qi Ling’s follow-up lands 21 22.
- Second Soul Skill — Tyrant Dragon Fist: Compresses Soul Power into a devastating punch. Its ring originates from a three-thousand-year One-Horned Dragon Rhinoceros 18.
- Tyrant Dragon Fist: Twin Dragons Meet: Attacks two targets simultaneously, with each fist retaining seventy percent of the single-fist version’s power 40.
- Super: Tyrant Dragon Fist: Charges power and draws in surrounding Spiritual Qi. Its stated maximum reaches one hundred times the destructive power, but it requires time to charge and injures his hand when used against Ye Zhiqiu 45 46.
- Golden Sacred Dragon Armor: Soul Skill-manifested armor whose defense grows with Qi Ling’s strength. It withstands Tang San’s Godly Zhuge Crossbow and Yu Tianba’s Great Shocking Thunder 69 113.
- Sixth Soul Skill — Holy Dragon Judgment: Used against Lei Xiong in combination with Ring Sealing Technique and covering fire from the Soul Hunting Squad 486.
- Seventh Soul Skill — Divine Dragon Martial Soul Avatar: Transforms him into a Divine Dragon with extraordinary physical toughness. Against Qian Daoliu’s Nine Swords of the Heavenly God, his exterior remains uninjured, although the internal strain nearly overwhelms him 653.
- Injury-responsive innate trait: In Divine Dragon form, his imposing presence increases as Chu Ling wounds him. The supplied account identifies this as an innate Divine Dragon Emperor trait without providing its name or full mechanics 1068.
Blood Devil Emperor
- Innate passive — Emperor Plundering Technique: Successful attacks steal a portion of an enemy’s Soul Power and convert it for Qi Ling’s use. The amount depends on the attack’s effect 24.
- First Soul Skill — Blood Devil Hundred Rending Claws: Releases hundreds of claw attacks. Repeated hits can drain a heavily defended opponent even when they inflict little physical damage 24 25. Later improvements substantially increase its cutting power 242.
- Defensive claw application: Concentrates Blood Devil Hundred Rending Claws into his palm rather than dispersing them, allowing it to block and devour an incoming energy blade 592.
- Second Soul Skill — Night Devil’s Frenzied Cry: Increases speed by 100% and nullifies slowing and lock-on skills targeting him while active 24.
- Third Soul Skill — Nightmare Descends: A developing shadow-based ability with multiple potential applications. Absorbing Tyrannical Savage’s ring unlocks Shadow Transformation, allowing Qi Ling to become a pool of shadow and merge into the ground 243.
- Blood Devil Slays Heaven: Awakens the ability to devour attacks under pressure from the Ice Phoenix. Its Slays Heaven stage releases accumulated damage in a destructive counterattack 284.
- Eight Desolations Heaven-Imprisoning Prison: Restrains Qian Xunji with eight tentacles, but Qian Xunji breaks it using his Martial Soul Avatar and Angel’s Glory. The destruction of the skill disrupts Qi Ling’s blood and Qi 592 593.
- Seventh Soul Skill — Blood Devil Avatar: Powered by a golden Million-Year Soul Ring. Produces red skin, devil horns, enlarged muscles, and an intensely evil presence while allowing Qi Ling to avoid increasing his overall size 593.
- Seventh-ring passive: Acquires an additional passive ability upon obtaining his seventh ring, explicitly distinguished from his Soul Skills. Its full mechanics are not stated in the supplied passage 594.
- Martial Soul suppression: Overwhelms Zhang Lei’s Martial Soul, leaving his Blood Handprint ineffective against Qi Ling 34 35.
- Development constraint: Qi Ling initially advances both Martial Souls together because their opposing righteous and evil natures could become dangerous if one greatly outstrips the other 13. Their later ring acquisition is not perfectly simultaneous: the Blood Devil Emperor still has seven rings after his other eighth-ring advancement 726.
Nine Revolutions True Dragon Art
- Divine-grade cultivation method with nine levels corresponding to the nine Soul Master realms. Each level tempers the body, removes impurities, and develops a True Qi dragon that widens the meridians and supports cultivation 27.
- Its promised complete True Dragon Body can rival gods in physical toughness. Qi Ling completes its second stage before the first Star Dou expedition and later reaches the seventh level, where ordinary pressure no longer suffices for another breakthrough 27 42 747.
- True Dragon Qi functions independently of Soul Power. Its domineering, substantial nature lets Qi Ling bind and harm the Ghost Shark, an energy being immune to physical attacks 747.
- Grants enough resilience to remain combat-capable after Blood Cross Slash and enough recovery to heal his injured hand overnight 39 46.
- Giant Dragon Breath: A True Dragon martial skill powered by Nine Dragons True Qi; used to clear the assassin sisters’ arena smoke 35 38.
- Charging: The second-stage body enables the power accumulation used in Super: Tyrant Dragon Fist 45.
- Overbearing Dragon Spear: Forms a dragon-patterned golden spear over two meters long from True Dragon Qi. At its introduction, it is described as Qi Ling’s strongest single-point penetrating attack 350.
- Dragon Controlling Force: Manipulates force with exceptional precision. Applied to the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer, it converts resistance into assistance and allows him to redirect a waterfall backward 357.
- Trap the Dragon and Lock the Spirit: A named application of Dragon Controlling Force used alongside the Overbearing Dragon Spear 350.
- True Dragon Chain: Binds the Ghost Shark with True Dragon Qi and can constrict it despite its incorporeal nature 747.
- Physical development: His later Dragon Bones and Devil Blood grant bodily strength comparable to a Limit Douluo even without Soul Power, True Dragon Qi, or other active powers 813.
Fiery Eyes and Golden Pupils
- A three-stage divine-grade eye technique; Qi Ling reaches the second stage by his battle with the Killer Combination 14 37.
- Enhances visual perception and predicts an opponent’s next attack by reading bodily movements. Its initial “foresight” is movement-based rather than unrestricted knowledge of the future 14 15.
- Allows efficient defense against faster enemies, but does not prevent the assassin sisters from deceiving him through illusions and misleading tactics 15 38 39.
- Detects minute environmental disturbances, including tremors in the air, allowing him to locate both assassin sisters in stealth 40.
- Remains useful against Zhu Zhuqing after their five-year separation, enabling him to read her improved attacks and restrict her available options 417.
Fusion, Divine Forms, and Advanced Combat
- Nether Battle Maiden: A Martial Soul Fusion Skill with Zhu Zhuqing that greatly strengthens her concealment and claw attacks. At its initial demonstration, the fused state lasts ten minutes before the Martial Souls separate automatically 122.
- Divine Devil Body: Combines the Divine Dragon Emperor and Blood Devil Emperor into a new Martial Soul Avatar by fusing their powers and golden Soul Rings. Its first use allows only ten heartbeats to resolve the confrontation 654.
- God-Demon Body: Later combat usage relies on Qi Ling’s understanding of samsara to withstand the strain between the opposing powers 1020.
- Divine Power of the Earth: Gives him extraordinary strength while both feet remain grounded, preventing Xiao Wu from overcoming him in strength or throwing him under those conditions 715.
- Spiritual resistance: His spiritual power is sufficiently overwhelming that Hu Liena’s fully enhanced Charm cannot affect him even when he deliberately offers no mental resistance 715.
- Eighth Soul Skill / position exchange: Switches places with Xiaoyu to free her from Tu Yan’s hostage threat 829.
- Shift Form and Swap Shadows: Exchanges positions with Bibi Dong near the Underworld portal, sending her to safety while Qi Ling remains behind 1109.
- Demon God Battle Skill — Annihilation in All Ten Directions: His strongest technique in the battle against the Abyssal Crocodile King, carving a deep cross-shaped wound into its back armor 1020.
- Divine skill — Star Shattering: Gathers starlight at the Demon God Halberd’s blade and unleashes a powerful direct strike. Qi Ling opens his match against Qian Jiyin with it to deny him opportunities for trickery 1058.
- Meteor Burst: Breaks the Ghost King’s barrier and opens a route toward the closing portal 1109.
- Black flames: Burn a Ghost General and surrounding lesser ghosts, although the Ghost King extinguishes them with a massive palm strike 1109.
Other Techniques and Knowledge
- Elementary Ring Sealing Technique: With the target’s consent, seals three Soul Rings and their corresponding Soul Power. Qi Ling initially uses it to limit Zhao Wuji to four rings 21 22.
- Later Ring Sealing Technique: Develops beyond the early consensual demonstration, sealing Lei Xiong’s ninth ring in battle. He also seals the Hundred Thousand Year ring summoned by Qian Xunji without affecting Qian Xunji himself 486 596.
- Bone-Dissolving Soft Palm: Strikes from a distance and seals the victim’s ability to mobilize Soul Power or summon a Martial Soul, as demonstrated against Zhang Lei 32 35.
- Mysterious Heaven Skill: Practices this cultivation method for six years before finding the Nine Revolutions True Dragon Art better suited to his fighting style 4 27.
- Medical arts: Obtains access to Hua Tuo’s World-Saving Scripture through a system choice and successfully treats Zhu Zhuqing’s injuries 30 32.
- Martial Soul theory: Receives the second volume of Ten Core Theories of Martial Souls, completing his set and supporting his challenge to Lu Xuan’s teaching 12. Later correctly identifies the Hua sisters’ Symbiotic Martial Souls and explains their god-level developmental potential 220 221.
- Unarmed combat: Uses balance, borrowed force, and stamina management to resist Xiao Wu’s throws and rapid attacks 5.
- Three Thousand Lightning Movement: Obtains a divine-grade movement technique with three realms—Lightning Flash, Lightning Instant, and Three Thousand Lightning 50. Later demonstrates Lightning Instant to penetrate the Shrek Seven Devils’ formation 71.
- Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer: Performs all eighty-one strikes with Dragon Controlling Force without stirring a breeze, surpassing the conventional technique’s use of resistance 357.
- Xuanyuan Sword Skills — Sword Cuts the Mortal World: A sword technique used to meet Lei Xiong’s lightning-enhanced attack head-on 485.
- One Hundred and Eight Thousand Swords: A large-scale sword technique that Qi Ling initially cannot unleash at full potential. He later uses it to shatter Lei Xiong’s Lightning Barrier 365 486.
- Coiling Gold Acupoint Sealing Hand: Seals an opponent’s acupoints through direct bodily contact, though Qi Ling considers the contact requirement a practical limitation 431.
- Governance and instruction: Develops Dragon’s Glory City with his companions, mentors tournament champions, and later oversees the Brocade Guard’s overall strategic direction 344 425 987.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Infinite Storage Space — System reward for choosing to teach Wang Sheng a lesson. Stores supplies that Qi Ling can retrieve at will; he carries enough provisions for half a month outdoors 3 7.
- Barrett Sniper Rifle — Level 4 soul-tool weapon received before entering the Soul Hunting Forest. Its description states that it can kill opponents below Soul Saint level in one shot 6. Later, the Soul Hunting Squad fires ten Barrett rifles on Qi Ling’s signal to shatter Lei Xiong’s Thunder Armor, demonstrating their use as coordinated support rather than an automatic kill against a Super Douluo 486.
- Wheel of Fate — Locates what its user most desires, indicates its direction, and alerts the user when the target is within ten kilometers. Qi Ling uses it to seek his third Soul Ring 42.
- Black Demon Cloak — Level 5 defensive Soul Tool received for choosing to fight Ye Zhiqiu; capable of defending against Soul King-realm attacks 44.

- Starry Sky Barrier Admission Ticket — System reward accompanying his choice to confront the Imperial Fighting Team alone 108.
- Heaven and Earth Creation: Sword of Rupture — Divine artifact and, at its reappearance, his strongest area-attack weapon. Its power grows with his strength; the destructive limits described at that time are tied to his then-current cultivation 344.
