Everyone had a clear division of labor, but Carlmand and Behrens got into a rivalry, which Kazu was happy to see, as it gave him an excuse not to work.
He ostensibly acted as referee for the two of them, declaring that whoever brought back the biggest prey would win, while he himself served as referee for them by the stream.
Then I took out a deck chair and a drink, lay down comfortably, listened to the babbling of the stream, and felt the gentle breeze. It was incredibly pleasant.
Everyone was used to it and went about their own business.
Carlmand and Behrens took the lead and rushed into the forest.
However, Behrens, utilizing the power of the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, was significantly faster than Carlmand.
"That despicable guy, he just uses the power of Devil Fruit to cheat!"
Upon hearing Carlmand's furious words, Behrens revealed a hint of disdain.
" Devil Fruit are also part of strength; a real man doesn't make excuses."
With a thunderous roar, Behrens's figure disappeared from Carlmand's sight.
The animals on the mountain were also terrified. Anyone who didn't know better would have thought some beast had been punished by heaven. The thunder was so close; they hoped it wouldn't harm them.
Behrens was the first to arrive in the forest, began searching for the largest prey, but all he encountered were rabbits and pheasants, probably not even big enough for a single bite of Kazu. Bringing them back would definitely result in defeat.
Carlmand was luckier that day; he encountered a bear and a tiger fighting not long after entering the forest.
The two of them were startled by the thunderous roar of Behrens and wanted to go out to see what was going on, but they were afraid of the beast.
As it turned out, they encountered a worthy opponent. Both beasts had a strong sense of territory, so how could they tolerate each other's existence? There was no need for further words; they decided to fight first.
"Haha, this bear is so strong, I'm pretty lucky."
Carlmand charged forward and punched the black bear in the stomach, killing the poor bear instantly.
The tiger standing nearby was dumbfounded. How could this upright, walking monkey be so powerful?
With a single punch, it knocked the black bear brothers down, and it sensed that something was wrong.
"Leave Behrens nothing, but take this little kitten with you."
Carlmand leaped up and delivered a flying kick. The tiger couldn't dodge his attack and its skull was cracked open. It went to the underworld to enjoy its good life with its black bear brothers.
Whistling, Carlmand returned to the stream, one little cutie in each hand.
Robin and the other girls also picked some things. With Robin's Flower-Flower Fruit, they didn't need to climb trees at all, and the two of them completed their task while chatting and laughing.
On the sea, the Dog-Head Warship remained stationary, looking at the Divine Dragon on the shore. Garp curled his lip in disapproval.
"These guys, what's so great about going to a deserted island?"
"But it's perfect timing; there are no other civilians here, so it's a godsend."
" Bogard, you all wait on the ship. I'll go check things out by myself."
"Perhaps the Blond Hair Pirates have made some major discovery on the island. If they're secretly up to no good, it's my responsibility to stop them. After all, that's what my mission is."
Bogard hesitated, knowing all too well that Vice Admiral Garp was just making excuses.
But he couldn't persuade the other party at all, so he could only shake his head, sigh, and say, "I understand, Vice Admiral Garp, please be careful."
"Hahaha, I'm not even afraid of that old man Newgate, why would I be afraid of a little kid like him?"
"Don't worry, I have my own plans, nothing will happen."
Garp laughed loudly, leaped into the air from the deck, and used Geppo to head towards the Blond Hair Pirates.
Garp's thinking was simple: he could come and go freely on his own, and easily leave after the fight.
Furthermore, the fact that he hadn't run into Her Kazi last time made him itchy to get his hands on him.
He'd been holding back for so long, he was practically bursting with pent-up energy.
"Hey, Carlmand, you're back so soon."
Kazu was lying in a chair drinking juice when he saw Carlmand with a tiger in his left hand and a black bear in his right. Anyone who didn't know better would think he was going home for the New Year.
"Hahaha, that's nothing. I only needed to make a slight move, and that guy Behrens was left far behind."
After boasting, Carlmand dutifully went to the water's edge and began cleaning up the carcasses of the black bear and tiger.
He wouldn't ask Kazu any questions, because he knew it would be pointless; Kazu was unlikely to come and work with him.
Rumble~
A clap of thunder sounded, Behrens returned, carrying a wild boar in his hand—the largest prey he had ever found.
When he rushed back to the stream, his face immediately fell.
Oh no, that black bear alone was more than twice the size of the wild boar he caught.
That bastard Carlmand, how come he's so lucky today?
"Alright, I declare the winner to be Carlmand."
Kazu's words made Behrens ' face darken even more, Carlmand, who was standing next to him, even said a few more sarcastic remarks to Behrens.
"Sigh, winning is just that easy."
"Why are there always people who don't know their own limitations and want to compete with me? It's really a headache."
Behrens was furious, but the facts were undeniable, and he had no choice but to swallow his anger.
On the other side, Oulait and Drew also returned, carrying several large trees and chatting and laughing.
Kazu brought out a table and leisurely took out various seasonings. He planned to do the grilling himself today and show the crew what he, as captain, could do.
