Arc 8The Snowfield Calamities

Origami fought the assembled Servants and Sajyou Manaka, whose apocalyptic assault she survived before destroying Pale Rider’s imitation Underworld. As Manaka’s group prepared a final battle, Origami shared her wish to gain a real body and promised to help Tiné’s people reclaim their land.

  • Origami fought Alcides, Gilgamesh, Enkidu, and other Servants, using Atheism to nullify their attacks and defeating Alcides after his resurrections ran out.
  • François Prelati’s illusion removed Enkidu and Hippolyta from the battlefield, while Orlando summoned a younger Gilgamesh and Ereshkigal contained Heracles in the Underworld.
  • Sajyou Manaka arrived, healed Richard, and challenged Gilgamesh before Ishtar summoned Gugalanna, which hurled Gilgamesh into the Underworld and broke Heracles’s seal.
  • Manaka took control of Gugalanna and later used Hassan of the Lurk’s Noble Phantasm to send Ishtar to Ereshkigal, who stripped Ishtar of most of her Authority.
  • Pale Rider drew the fighters into a Pseudo-Underworld and unleashed an amplified apocalypse, but Origami remained unharmed and shattered the imitation realm with her Spacequake.
  • Manaka’s group regrouped and planned to hunt Miss Satan, arming Richard and Hassan of the Zealot with weapons from Gilgamesh’s Gate of Babylon.
  • Origami met Lord El-Melloi II, Flat, and Gray, told Waver Velvet she wanted a real body, and promised to help Tiné and her people reclaim their land.
Chapters 176–200 Vol. 2 Read

Ch. 176Empty-Handed

Origami failed to recover Gilgamesh from the police station and returned to her base after finding no other Masters or Servants in Snowfield City. The next day, an Archer attacked the base from afar, and Origami flew west with Tiné to confront them.

  • Origami found Gilgamesh's detention cell empty and challenged Orlando Reeve, who claimed the authorities had only found the Noble Phantasms at the battlefield.
  • Origami left the police station after warning Orlando not to lie, and he told his adjutant to check on Gilgamesh's recovery.
  • Origami searched Snowfield City without finding any Masters or Servants, then returned to the base and told Tiné that Gilgamesh had escaped.
  • The next day, a powerful attack struck one of Origami's protective wings of light, and she realized the base had been targeted from the west by a likely Archer.
  • Origami took Tiné with her in a princess carry and flew west to confront the attacker.

Ch. 177The Red-Skinned Savage

Origami fought Alcides in the hills west of Snowfield City while carrying Tiné, trading volleys of light bolts against his bow and summoned beasts. Alcides escaped her wide-area attack and launched a nine-pronged, poison-laced assault at Origami and Tiné.

  • Origami fired ten bolts at Alcides, who dodged as they destroyed the hilltop beneath him.
  • Origami unleashed more bolts, and Alcides shot them down before using the smoke to target Tiné; Origami’s wings deflected his arrows.
  • Origami used Shemesh to blanket the valley with bolts, and Alcides summoned the Erymanthian Boar to shield himself.
  • Alcides summoned the Golden Hind, gained the ability to teleport, and reappeared several kilometers away as Origami ended her attack.
  • Alcides fired an arrow that split into nine monstrous birds carrying Hydra’s Poison, sending them toward Origami and Tiné from different directions.

Ch. 178One against two

Origami protected Tiné from Alcides’s attacks and trapped the battlefield inside a spatial barrier, but a new Servant, Hippolyta, arrived and claimed Alcides as her prey. Origami attacked them both, driving them into a narrow valley as her precise barrage steadily limited their movements.

  • Alcides sent three monstrous birds after Tiné, but Origami shielded her with a barrier empowered by [Atheism].
  • Origami sealed the space around the battlefield and prepared to attack Alcides with her ten light wings.
  • Hippolyta rode into the barrier on Kallion and ordered Origami to leave Alcides to her.
  • Origami fired at Hippolyta, who dodged with Kallion, while Alcides charged toward her and disrupted Origami’s aim.
  • Origami’s relentless barrage injured both Alcides and Hippolyta and forced them into a narrow valley.

Ch. 179One Against Four, the Advantage Is Mine

Origami faced Gilgamesh, Enkidu, Hippolyta, and Alcides in the valley, destroying their initial attacks with her floating cannons. After she vanished and space began to warp, the four Servants unleashed their ultimate techniques at the distortion, ending the chapter as a calamity erupted.

  • Gilgamesh arrived aboard Vimana and attacked Origami with Gate of Babylon, but her floating cannons destroyed his weapons.
  • Enkidu emerged from underground and joined Gilgamesh in attacking Origami, while Hippolyta and Alcides watched from the valley floor.
  • Origami told Tiné to stay inside Alice's shield, then vanished as space began to distort where she had been.
  • Gilgamesh, Enkidu, Hippolyta, and Alcides each launched an ultimate attack at the spatial distortion.
  • The distortion shattered like glass, and a calamity spread through the valley.

Ch. 180Scouring the Land with a Flood

Origami and the four Servants survived their clash, but Gilgamesh unleashed the Sword of the End: Enki and flooded the battlefield with a civilization-destroying deluge. Origami trapped Gilgamesh inside a barrier that nullified his attacks and aimed her assembled wings at him.

  • Gilgamesh, Enkidu, Hippolyta, and Alcides combined their ultimate techniques to neutralize Origami's Spacequake, leaving the four Servants battered but alive.
  • Gilgamesh summoned the Sword of the End: Enki and caused a supernatural flood to cover the land for dozens of kilometers.
  • Origami protected Tiné inside her shield as the flood spread across the battlefield, and Enkidu recognized the water as a Noble Phantasm that would wash away civilization after seven days.
  • Origami used her manifestation device to imprison Gilgamesh and part of Vimana inside an inward-facing shield that nullified his attacks.
  • Origami joined her ten wings of light into a cannon and aimed it at Gilgamesh through the barrier.

Ch. 181Sajyou Ayaka?

Origami destroyed Gilgamesh and kept Alcides at bay as new combatants arrived at the battlefield. She recognized Sajyou Ayaka and asked why she had come to the United States, but Ayaka denied knowing Sajyou Manaka and said she probably was not the person Origami meant.

  • Origami fired Kadour through the pale blue barrier, erasing Gilgamesh and causing Enki's flood to recede.
  • Enkidu, Hippolyta, and Alcides attacked Origami, but their blows were nullified; Alcides repeatedly evaded her attempts to trap him.
  • Ishtar and Haruhi Borzak arrived from the southeast, while Richard I, Hassan of the Zealot, and Sajyou Ayaka arrived from the northwest.
  • Ishtar and Richard attacked Origami, but Atheism nullified their attacks; Richard's strike briefly blinded Origami with its flash.
  • Origami recognized Sajyou Ayaka and asked why she had come to the United States for the Holy Grail War; Ayaka stopped and denied having an older sister named Sajyou Manaka or being the Sajyou Ayaka Origami meant.

Ch. 182Heracles?

Origami trapped Alcides in a shrinking barrier and killed him, but his God Hand Noble Phantasm resurrected him at the cost of all eleven lives. When his pelt was destroyed, Origami recognized him as Heracles and prepared to end his suffering.

  • Ayaka fled the battlefield, while Ishtar and Haruri watched and Hassan of the Zealot disappeared.
  • Origami enclosed Alcides in a vast barrier that steadily shrank, then repelled Enkidu when he transformed into a giant chain and attacked.
  • Alcides's arrow was nullified, and Origami's volley reduced him to charred remains before God Hand resurrected him.
  • Alcides realized the volley had consumed all eleven of his resurrections, while Bazdilot watched helplessly from the meat-processing plant.
  • Origami saw Alcides's face beneath the destroyed pelt, recognized Heracles, and decided to end his suffering.

Ch. 183The end?

Origami eliminated Alcides and moved to attack Enkidu, but Caster François Prelati intervened with an illusion that displaced the other combatants. After he vanished, Origami found Tiné safe in her barrier, while Enkidu and Hippolyta were gone.

  • Origami's second volley of light bullets destroyed Alcides, leaving nothing behind.
  • Origami turned toward Enkidu as Hippolyta prepared another charge, intending to defeat them both.
  • François Prelati introduced himself as Caster and revealed that he had woven a dreamlike illusion over the battlefield without transporting anyone.
  • François said he had shifted Enkidu, Hippolyta, Saber, and Assassin elsewhere to keep the Holy Grail War from ending too soon.
  • François disappeared, the illusion lifted, and Origami found Enkidu and Hippolyta missing while Tiné remained safe in her barrier.

Ch. 184The second summoning

Origami found Snowfield City covered in a strange black fog as Orlando Reeve used the Uruk Great Cup to summon a younger Gilgamesh after the previous Gilgamesh was eliminated. Meanwhile, Ereshkigal kept Heracles’ rampaging soul sealed in her hidden Underworld beneath the city.

  • Origami brought Tiné toward Snowfield City and found its streets empty beneath a black fog that felt strangely familiar to her.
  • Orlando Reeve used the Uruk Great Cup as a catalyst and summoned a younger Gilgamesh in his office.
  • After Orlando explained the Holy Grail War and the previous Gilgamesh’s defeat, the new Gilgamesh vowed to take his place and went to meet the silver-haired Archer.
  • Ereshkigal revealed that Heracles’ soul had been collected by her Underworld and that she had barely sealed him after he wrecked the realm and terrified its departed souls.

Ch. 185The goddess's day of suffering

Ereshkigal struggled to contain Heracles as his Noble Phantasm eroded her authority over the underworld, while Gilgamesh taunted them both. After learning that the silver-haired Archer could nullify attacks carrying Divinity, Ereshkigal considered staying in the underworld rather than confronting her.

  • Heracles struggled against Ereshkigal's Soul Cage Spears as his Noble Phantasm slowly stole her authority over the underworld.
  • Gilgamesh mocked Heracles about his death and goaded Ereshkigal while she tried to focus on containing him.
  • Ereshkigal complained about being dragged into the Holy Grail War and considered destroying Heracles's soul or expelling him from the underworld.
  • Gilgamesh told Ereshkigal that the silver-haired Archer had nullified his and Heracles's attacks, as well as Enkidu's, because they carried Divinity.
  • Ereshkigal concluded that staying in the underworld was safer, while Gilgamesh teased her and she demanded that they both be quiet.

Ch. 186About to arrive on the battlefield...

Origami returned to Snowfield City after its missing residents reappeared, then flew to a battle where a newly arrived Gilgamesh was about to kill Richard and Sajyou Ayaka. A petite blonde girl stopped Gilgamesh’s Indra’s Thunder with one finger, and Gilgamesh recognized her as the World-Devouring Witch.

  • Origami found Snowfield City nearly empty of residents and Servants, then waited at her base with Tiné.
  • Cracks opened in the sky, returning the missing residents as the black mist vanished.
  • Origami followed the sounds of battle and found Gilgamesh had badly wounded Richard and Hassan of the Zealot.
  • Gilgamesh summoned Indra’s Thunder and launched it at Richard and Sajyou Ayaka.
  • A petite blonde girl appeared and stopped the lightning with one finger, then flicked the vajra away.
  • Gilgamesh recognized the girl as the World-Devouring Witch and asked what she was doing there.

Ch. 187Root Princess

  • Sajyou Manaka arrived, called Sajyou Ayaka her runaway little sister, and healed Richard without Ayaka noticing how.
  • Sajyou Ayaka insisted that she was not Manaka’s sister, and Manaka sensed that their souls were different.

  • Flat and Jack decided to keep watching instead of joining the battle after Flat noticed Origami and Sajyou Manaka.
  • Hippolyta rode Kallion into the battlefield and challenged Gilgamesh, asking how he had returned after Origami defeated him.
  • Hippolyta attacked Gilgamesh with her battle-axe, but he blocked her strikes and prepared a golden longsword to end the fight.
  • A huge beast’s hoof descended from the sky and slammed down on Gilgamesh, collapsing the ground around him.
  • A lightning storm surrounded Snowfield City’s outskirts while leaving the city itself untouched.

Ch. 189Gugalanna

Ishtar summoned Gugalanna, whose stomp sent Gilgamesh into the Underworld and shattered Heracles’s seal, allowing his soul to escape. Gilgamesh rose in Ereshkigal’s domain, while the officials watching Snowfield City’s battle struggled to comprehend how the Holy Grail War had spiraled out of control.

  • Ishtar revealed Gugalanna, the Bull of Heaven, and ordered it to stomp Gilgamesh into the Underworld.
  • Gugalanna’s stomp broke through the Underworld’s ceiling, dropped Gilgamesh beside Ereshkigal, and shattered Heracles’s seal.
  • Heracles’s soul escaped through the opening and vanished beyond the horizon.
  • Gilgamesh recovered from the impact and recognized that he was in the Underworld with Ereshkigal.
  • Ishtar sensed Ereshkigal below but trusted that Gugalanna would protect her.
  • Orlando and Faldeus watched the destruction on their monitors, and Faldeus hesitated over calling for help.

Ch. 190Princess of Monsters

Sajyou Manaka used the Authority of the Mother Goddess to shrink and claim Ishtar’s Bull of Heaven, then protected her companions as Ishtar and Enkidu fought around her. As the battle stalled, Faldeus sent Hassan of the Lurk to intervene, while Sajyou Manaka connected to the Root to assess everyone on the battlefield.

  • Ishtar sensed the Mother Goddess’s Authority in Sajyou Manaka, who invoked Princess of Monsters and shrank the Bull of Heaven, making it obedient to her.
  • Ishtar attacked Sajyou Manaka, but Gugalanna blocked every strike and shielded her companions.
  • In the Underworld, Ereshkigal ordered Gilgamesh to remain there, while he considered escaping through the hole in its ceiling.
  • Enkidu arrived and attacked Ishtar, helping Sajyou Manaka and turning the fight into a stalemate.
  • Faldeus ordered True Assassin to go to the battlefield and sacrifice himself if necessary; Hassan of the Lurk set out.
  • Growing bored with the stalemate, Sajyou Manaka connected to the Root to gather information about everyone on the battlefield.

Ch. 191Revisiting Familiar Ground

Sajyou Manaka took control of Hassan of the Lurk and forced him to use his Noble Phantasm, dragging Ishtar into the Underworld. Ereshkigal stripped away most of Ishtar’s Authority and kept her there, while Manaka told Sajyou Ayaka and the others that the crisis was over.

  • Sajyou Manaka forcibly controlled Hassan of the Lurk and ordered him to use Meditative Sensitivity against Ishtar.
  • Hassan of the Lurk’s Noble Phantasm dragged Ishtar into the Underworld and destroyed his Spirit Origin.
  • Ereshkigal judged Ishtar with divine lightning, stripping away most of her Authority and shrinking her into a child.
  • Ereshkigal kept Ishtar in the Underworld and told her to watch Gilgamesh so he could not escape.
  • Sajyou Manaka told Sajyou Ayaka and the others that the crisis was over and introduced herself as someone looking for her little sister.

Ch. 192Origami Takes the Stage

Origami revealed herself by attacking five targets, then faced the assembled fighters after Sajyou Manaka identified her power with Satan and Atheism. She sent Tiné to safety and began her assault with Shemesh, firing dark projectiles in every direction.

  • Origami launched five dark light bullets at Sajyou Manaka, the Bull of Heaven, Enkidu, Saber, and Flat, but each target evaded or deflected the attack.
  • Sajyou Manaka called Origami “Miss Satan” and explained that her power opposed gods and mythology through Atheism, shocking the fighters and observers.
  • Origami denied being Satan and sent Tiné away inside her protective barrier.
  • Origami confirmed the battlefield was clear of ordinary residents, formed her ten wings into a spinning disc, and unleashed Shemesh across the battlefield.

Ch. 193Pale Rider

Origami’s dark light bullets stirred the despair around the battlefield, causing Pale Rider to emerge from Tsubaki Kuruoka’s unconscious body and attack her. Origami fought the elusive Servant with her Brynhildr lance, but Pale Rider’s shifting between solid and intangible forms left the battle unresolved.

  • Sajyou Manaka and Enkidu destroyed incoming dark light bullets with spells and earthen weapons, while the Bull of Heaven protected Sajyou Ayaka.
  • Richard raced through the barrage using Godspeed, while Jack carried Flat away from the battlefield.
  • The despair surrounding Tsubaki Kuruoka summoned Pale Rider, which sent conceptual black mist toward Origami.
  • Origami dodged the mist and fired dark light bullets at Pale Rider, but they passed harmlessly through its body.
  • Pale Rider charged Origami on its warhorse, and the two exchanged lance strikes as it repeatedly shifted between solid and intangible forms.

Ch. 194Pseudo-Underworld

Pale Rider drew Origami, Sajyou Manaka, Enkidu, Richard, and the others into its Pseudo-Underworld, where its second Noble Phantasm began to activate. The first calamity struck as fire, hail, and blood rained from the sky, setting the land ablaze.

  • Origami struggled to break through Sajyou Manaka and Pale Rider’s coordinated support and attacks while Richard and Enkidu’s assaults failed to hurt her.
  • Pale Rider finished gathering the authority of the apocalypse and released black mist, drawing everyone on the battlefield into its Pseudo-Underworld.
  • Origami recognized the copied Snowfield City as a possible Reality Marble but noticed it did not weaken her and seemed to increase her magical energy.
  • Pale Rider became fully corporeal in the Pseudo-Underworld and announced its second Noble Phantasm as the sky and world began to split.
  • The first calamity descended, with fire, hail, and blood raining down and flames consuming a third of the ground as Sajyou Ayaka watched in terror.

Ch. 195The Apocalypse Descends

Origami endured Pale Rider’s apocalyptic Noble Phantasm without harm while Enkidu disintegrated and the others struggled to survive. Sajyou Manaka sent Ayaka, Hassan of the Zealot, Sigma, and Tsubaki back to the real world, leaving herself inside as Origami revealed her ten wings of light.

  • Sajyou Manaka used Mental Magecraft to amplify Pale Rider’s vision of the Book of Revelation until its calamities became real.
  • Origami remained unharmed because her Atheism nullified the apocalypse, while Enkidu’s body crumbled and Richard tried to support him.
  • Pale Rider’s limited thoughts overloaded as it failed to understand why Origami could not be harmed.
  • Origami disappeared from the battlefield, and Sajyou Manaka opened a spatial gate to evacuate Sajyou Ayaka, Hassan of the Zealot, Sigma, and Tsubaki.
  • Sajyou Manaka stayed behind and promised to keep Enkidu alive as Origami appeared in the sky with ten wings of light and warped space.

Ch. 196Anti-World Noble Phantasm vs. Anti-World Noble Phantasm

Origami destroyed Pale Rider’s imitation Underworld with her Spacequake and returned to Snowfield City, while Sajyou Manaka escaped with Richard. After the world collapsed, Hippolyta climbed out of the pit the Bull of Heaven had opened and survived her fall into the Underworld.

  • Origami’s Spacequake shattered the imitation Underworld, and Sajyou Manaka teleported herself and Richard out as Enkidu’s remains lay behind.
  • Pale Rider used the Book of Revelation’s remaining power to resist the Spacequake, but its barrier broke and Rider of False’s Spirit Origin was destroyed.
  • Origami reappeared in downtown Snowfield City, found the others gone, and decided to pursue them after resting.
  • Hippolyta climbed out of the enormous pit left by the Bull of Heaven and collapsed beside it, alive.
  • Hippolyta recalled falling into the Underworld and climbing toward the opening after finding she could not summon her steed.

Ch. 197A lively Underworld

Hippolyta climbed out of the Underworld and headed toward the city, while Ereshkigal presided over a strange gathering of souls below. Enkidu arrived and found Old Gil, a caged Caster Gilgamesh, and a child-sized Ishtar, leaving him bewildered.

  • Hippolyta sensed a faint Master-Servant bond while climbing out of the Underworld, then reached the surface and headed toward the city.
  • Ereshkigal kept Caster Gilgamesh imprisoned in a golden cage after silencing him for mocking her and the others.
  • Old Gil teased child-sized Ishtar, who had lost most of her authorities and retreated to sulk on a rock.
  • Enkidu arrived in the Underworld and stared in confusion at the gathering.
  • Old Gil laughed at Enkidu's reaction, while Ereshkigal told him to find somewhere to sit.

Ch. 198A temporary ceasefire break

Sajyou Manaka gathered the group at their temporary mansion base to discuss how to deal with Miss Satan and revealed the King's Key, which opened a passage to Gilgamesh’s Gate of Babylon. She demonstrated it by retrieving five Noble Phantasms, leaving the group with an arsenal but no stated plan for using them.

  • Residents fled Snowfield City or stayed indoors after authorities cordoned off the devastated downtown area following unexplained explosions.
  • Origami watched anime during the daytime ceasefire and wondered what would happen next, recalling that she had already dealt thoroughly with Heracles.

  • Sajyou Manaka drew out the Fish Intestine Sword, Kanshou and Bakuya, the Crimson Heaven Sword, and the Jeweled Eagle Bow.

Ch. 199Sajyou Manaka's hunting plan

Sajyou Manaka devised a plan to exploit Miss Satan’s vulnerability to non-divine weapons and assigned Noble Phantasms for the coming battle. She cured Tsubaki’s implanted bacteria and revealed that Pale Rider’s power remained within her, then chose an artificial lake west of Snowfield City as the battlefield for tonight’s hunt.

  • Sajyou Manaka explained that Miss Satan’s defense nullified attacks with Divinity, while purely man-made Noble Phantasms could bypass it.
  • Sajyou Manaka removed the bacteria from Tsubaki’s body, and Tsubaki felt her body grow light again.
  • Sajyou Manaka revealed that Pale Rider’s Spirit Origin had collapsed but some of his power remained in Tsubaki, and that the other Horsemen might descend if she were threatened.
  • Sajyou Manaka assigned the Fish Intestine Sword and Kanshou and Bakuya to Hassan of the Zealot, the Crimson Heaven Sword and Jeweled Eagle Bow to Richard, and the frontline role to Gugalanna.
  • Sajyou Manaka selected the artificial lake west of Snowfield City for the final battle and announced that the group would hunt Miss Satan that night.
  • After the meeting, Hassan of the Zealot left to train, Richard went to meet Gugalanna, and Ayaka and Sigma took Tsubaki to rest while Sajyou Manaka watched the sky from the balcony.
