Arc 7Leviathan and the False War

Ritsuka Fujimaru and Mayuri defeated the Lion King’s forces, uncovered the truth behind the Singularity, and secured Ozymandias’s Holy Grail. In Snowfield, Origami Tobiichi joined Tiné Chelc and entered the Holy Grail War, where her clash with Gilgamesh and Enkidu led into a search for missing prisoners.

  • Ritsuka Fujimaru questioned Ozymandias, who denied causing the Singularity and claimed his Holy Grail was obtained fairly.
  • Ritsuka traveled with refugees to Camelot, where the Lion King’s Holy Selection separated families and the knights attacked the survivors.
  • Mayuri summoned Leviathan, which fought Gawain, Tristan, Mordred, and the Lion King before defeating her and destroying Camelot’s protective barrier.
  • Ritsuka returned with the refugees to the People of the Mountain, where Cursed Arm Hassan described their shortages and First Hassan directed her to the Pharaoh’s domain.
  • Sherlock Holmes showed Ritsuka, Mash, and Mayuri Trismegistus Hermes, which revealed Marisbury Animusphere had won the Fuyuki Holy Grail War and explained King Arthur’s transformation into a Divine Spirit.
  • Tiné Chelc took control of the mage’s Command Spells, contracted with Origami Tobiichi, and asked her to help her people reclaim their land in the Snowfield Holy Grail War.
  • Origami fought Gilgamesh and Enkidu, countered their attacks with Atheism and Shemesh, and broke Gilgamesh’s powerful arrow with Metatron: Crown Cannon.
  • Origami searched Snowfield, identified a girl with glasses and a blond young man, then confronted the police during their battle with Jester Karture and demanded to see the prisoners.
  • Origami erased Jester Karture with a beam, subdued the officers, and found the holding cell empty, so she asked them to find out where the missing prisoners had gone.
Chapters 151–175 Vol. 2 Read

Ch. 151The Pharaoh

Ritsuka Fujimaru and her companions reached Ozymandias's prosperous city and met the Pharaoh, who already knew about Chaldea's mission. Ozymandias revealed that he possessed the Holy Grail, but said he had little to do with the Singularity's creation.

  • Hassan of the Hundred Faces' double gained the group an audience with Ozymandias by identifying herself as an envoy of the People of the Mountain.
  • As they approached the pyramid, Mayuri felt an intense, familiar loathing toward it and its Pharaoh but continued onward.
  • Ozymandias recognized Ritsuka Fujimaru and recited Chaldea's previous Singularity victories.
  • Ritsuka Fujimaru asked whether Ozymandias was responsible for the Singularity, and he said its creation had little to do with him.
  • Ozymandias displayed the Holy Grail and claimed he had obtained it fair and square.

Ch. 152Leaving the oasis

After learning that Ozymandias was not responsible for the Singularity, Ritsuka Fujimaru and her companions headed toward the Holy City to investigate the Lion King. They joined refugees bound for the Holy Selection, and Ritsuka planned to witness it firsthand while growing suspicious of a tall, silver-haired traveler among them.

  • Ozymandias sent Ritsuka Fujimaru, Mash, and Mayuri away, then ordered Hassan of the Hundred Faces's double to tell the People of the Mountain to return Nitocris unharmed.
  • On the way back to the camp, Ritsuka decided they would visit the Holy City and investigate the Lion King after learning Ozymandias denied causing the Singularity.
  • Ritsuka and her companions met refugees traveling to the Holy City for the Holy Selection, and she warned them that it was a massacre, but they did not believe her.
  • Ritsuka decided to travel with the refugees and stop the Holy Selection if Hassan of the Hundred Faces's account proved true.
  • While traveling with the refugees, Ritsuka noticed a tall cloaked man with silver hair and armor, and she and Mash agreed to question him at the next rest.

Ch. 153Lucius and the Arrival at the Holy City

Ritsuka Fujimaru and her companions reached Camelot with the refugees, where the Lion King’s Holy Selection chose three people and the city’s knights attacked everyone left behind. Mash shielded the crowd from the arrows as Ritsuka tried to lead the refugees to safety, while Mayuri met the Lion King’s gaze.

  • Ritsuka Fujimaru questioned the mysterious traveler Lucius, who said he was heading to the Holy City with the refugees but refused to reveal his identity.
  • Ritsuka Fujimaru, Mash, Mayuri, and the refugees reached Camelot, where Gawain announced the Holy Selection before the Lion King.
  • Three refugees, including a mother, were lifted in golden pillars of light and carried through the city gate, leaving the mother’s child behind.
  • After the selection ended, knights on the walls fired a rain of arrows at the remaining refugees.
  • Mash raised a massive phantom shield to block the arrows while Ritsuka Fujimaru pulled the refugees toward safety, and Mayuri exchanged a look with the Lion King.

Ch. 154Excalibur Galatine

Mayuri summoned Leviathan after the Lion King attacked her, and Gawain’s strongest strike barely scorched the beast’s scales. Leviathan turned its attention to Gawain and swept its tail toward him.

  • The Lion King attacked Mayuri with sacred power, but Mayuri’s Astral Dress: Number Ten Thousand nullified it.
  • Mayuri opened a spatial rift and summoned Leviathan, whose roar paralyzed the refugees and knights until Gawain, Tristan, and Lucius recovered.
  • Mordred rushed out of Camelot and joined Gawain and Tristan as they faced Leviathan.
  • Gawain unleashed Excalibur Galatine at full power, but it only scorched a few of Leviathan’s scales.
  • Mayuri told Leviathan to spare the refugees, and Leviathan swung its tail toward Gawain, who did not dodge.

Ch. 155The Lion King's Holy Lance

Gawain survived Leviathan’s tail strike but was left injured and vulnerable, while Tristan and Mordred’s attacks failed to harm the beast. The Lion King struck Leviathan with Rhongomyniad, wounding it and drawing its rage as Mayuri recognized the lance’s threat.

  • Gawain blocked Leviathan’s tail with Carnwennan, was hurled into the Holy City's wall, and began recovering from severe injuries.
  • Tristan shot Leviathan’s eye with Failnaught and Mordred struck its jaw with Clarent, but neither attack caused damage.
  • The Lion King launched Rhongomyniad from above, driving Leviathan into the ground and carving a deep wound into its back.
  • Ritsuka Fujimaru, Mash, and Lucius helped the refugees escape the blast and shielded them from debris.
  • Leviathan climbed from the crater, roared in rage, and fixed its golden eyes on the Lion King.
  • Mayuri saw that Rhongomyniad had wounded Leviathan and realized the lance was more dangerous than she had expected.

Ch. 156Protection of the World's End

Leviathan attacked the Lion King, but her protection blocked its physical blows until its energy beam began dissolving the barrier. As Leviathan resisted the Holy Lance and the Lion King began drawing on Camelot’s energy to unleash her full power, Gawain, Tristan, and Mordred turned their attention to Mayuri.

  • Leviathan lunged at the Lion King, but Protection of the World's End stopped its bite and all its other physical attacks.
  • Leviathan fired an energy ray that dissolved the golden barrier, while the Lion King's Holy Lance strike barely scorched Leviathan because it had developed resistance.
  • The Lion King decided to use her full strength, transformed Camelot into golden energy, and began returning the world to its original state.
  • Gawain, Tristan, and Mordred attacked Leviathan, but it ignored their blows as it focused on the Lion King.
  • Gawain, Tristan, and Mordred decided to attack Mayuri, who stood at the clearing's edge holding Fou.

Ch. 157The true Holy Lance

Mayuri took to the air to evade Gawain, Mordred, and Tristan, then unleashed a compressed Spacequake against them. Gawain and Mordred survived by combining their Noble Phantasms, but Tristan was killed, and Mayuri remained unharmed.

  • Gawain, Mordred, and Tristan attacked Mayuri with ranged strikes as she flew above them.
  • Mayuri vanished and triggered a compressed Spacequake after confirming Ritsuka Fujimaru and Mash had led the refugees far away.
  • Gawain and Mordred combined their Noble Phantasms to hold back the Spacequake, while Tristan's defenses failed and he disintegrated.
  • Gawain and Mordred survived the ten-second shock wave badly wounded, but Tristan was gone.
  • Mayuri reappeared unharmed with Fou in her arms and remarked that Gawain and Mordred were lucky to be alive.

Ch. 158Rhongomyniad, anchor release

Mayuri watched as the Lion King released Rhongomyniad’s anchor, transforming the region into a primordial world and unleashing a battle-ending attack against Leviathan. Leviathan answered with Seventh Lightning, and its power began overwhelming the holy lance as the chapter ended.

  • Mayuri confirmed that Gawain and Mordred would not attack again, then turned her attention to the Lion King.
  • Leviathan passed through the dissolving golden barrier and charged at the Lion King, who released Rhongomyniad’s anchor and expanded the primordial world across the battlefield.
  • The Lion King gathered Rhongomyniad’s power into a golden sphere while Leviathan summoned the Crown of Envy and prepared Seventh Lightning.
  • The Lion King launched herself at Leviathan as a golden meteor-spear, and Leviathan fired Seventh Lightning to meet her attack.
  • Their powers clashed, shaking the Singularity and drawing the attention of Ozymandias, Cursed Arm Hassan, and the desert wanderers.
  • After three seconds of stalemate, Seventh Lightning gained the advantage and began eroding the golden pillar.

Ch. 159Return to the People of the Mountain's Camp

Leviathan defeated the Lion King, ending her rule over the Holy City and leaving it without the laws that had sustained it. Ritsuka Fujimaru led the surviving refugees toward the People of the Mountain’s camp aboard Leviathan, while the Pharaoh remained to be dealt with.

  • Leviathan overwhelmed the Lion King with Seventh Lightning, and her Spirit Origin signature vanished as the Holy City’s protective barrier crumbled.
  • Gawain and Mordred stood stunned by the Lion King’s defeat, while Mayuri left Leviathan to search for Ritsuka Fujimaru and Mash.
  • Mayuri told Ritsuka Fujimaru that the Lion King was gone and that the Pharaoh and the People of the Mountain were the remaining factions; Ritsuka decided to return to the People of the Mountain’s camp.
  • Ritsuka invited the refugees to come with them, and the middle-aged man who had earlier opposed her agreed to lead them there.
  • Mayuri summoned Leviathan to carry the refugees across the desert, and the little girl with the rag doll became the first to touch its scales.

Ch. 160Handling the refugees

Cursed Arm Hassan and Chaldea discussed how to feed and shelter more than eight hundred refugees, and Mayuri proposed asking the pharaoh for supplies or defeating him if he refused. Xuanzang, Tawara Touta, and Hassan of Serenity arrived at camp, with Touta’s endless rice bag solving the food shortage while the refugees still needed shelter and water.

  • Cursed Arm Hassan told Ritsuka Fujimaru, Mash, Mayuri, and the camp leaders that the refugees would exhaust the camp’s food in three days and that water and shelter were also insufficient.
  • Mayuri proposed getting supplies from the pharaoh and defeating him if he refused, and Cursed Arm Hassan agreed that they could avoid a confrontation if the pharaoh provided aid.
  • Cursed Arm Hassan led the group to a clearing, where Xuanzang and Tawara Touta were cooking rice for the camp.
  • Tawara Touta explained that his Endless Rice Bag could provide vast quantities of rice, easing the camp’s food shortage.
  • Xuanzang introduced Hassan of Serenity and explained that she had rescued Serenity and Touta after the Round Table Army withdrew from their prison fortress to defend the Holy City.

Ch. 161First Hassan

Ritsuka Fujimaru’s group learned that First Hassan had summoned them and went to meet him in the mausoleum. He warned them to seek the Pharaoh’s domain, where someone awaited them and they could uncover more truths about the Singularity.

  • Cursed Arm Hassan described the refugees’ shortages of water, shelter, and medical supplies, and the group agreed to seek supplies from the Pharaoh.
  • Cursed Arm Hassan told Ritsuka Fujimaru that First Hassan wished to meet her, and Olga Marie and Dr. Roman identified him as the original Hassan and a likely Grand Assassin.
  • Ritsuka Fujimaru, Mash, and Mayuri followed Cursed Arm Hassan’s directions to the mausoleum and met First Hassan in its underground chamber.
  • First Hassan told Ritsuka Fujimaru that the Singularity held undiscovered truths and directed her to the Pharaoh’s domain, where someone awaited her.
  • As the group left, Mayuri thought First Hassan’s voice resembled Kirei Kotomine’s.

Ch. 162The Atlas Institute

Mayuri, Ritsuka Fujimaru, and Mash found the Atlas Institute and met Sherlock Holmes, who used its spiritron calculation engine to investigate the 2004 Fuyuki Holy Grail War. The engine began answering Holmes’s question about who truly won the war, but the chapter ended before it revealed the victor.

  • Mayuri spotted a modern building guarded by Sphinxes, and she, Ritsuka Fujimaru, and Mash entered it.
  • Sherlock Holmes introduced himself as a Caster waiting for Chaldea at Babbage’s request and led them deeper into the Institute.
  • Holmes’s bounded field blocked the group’s communications with Chaldea.
  • Holmes showed them Trismegistus Hermes and explained that Chaldea’s spiritron calculation engine was based on a machine supplied by the Atlas Institute.
  • Holmes asked Trismegistus Hermes to reveal the true victor of the 2004 Fuyuki City Holy Grail War, and the machine began its response.

Ch. 163Part of the truth

Ritsuka Fujimaru and her companions learned that Marisbury Animusphere won the Fuyuki Holy Grail War with Caster, Mash discovered that Galahad was the Heroic Spirit within her, and Trismegistus Hermes revealed the truth about the Lion King. After Mayuri’s question disabled the machine, the group obtained the Holy Grail from Ozymandias and left the Singularity cleared.

  • Sherlock Holmes revealed that Marisbury Animusphere and Caster won the Fuyuki Holy Grail War and suggested that Romani Archaman had helped conceal the truth.
  • Holmes identified Mash’s shield as the Round Table and named Galahad as the Heroic Spirit who had lent her his power.
  • Trismegistus Hermes explained that King Arthur survived Bedivere’s failed attempts to return the holy sword, became a Divine Spirit through Rhongomyniad, and wandered for fifteen hundred years.
  • Mayuri asked why the Counter Force had summoned her to protect Singularity F, but Trismegistus Hermes overloaded and shut down before answering.
  • Ritsuka, Mash, and Mayuri met Ozymandias, who handed over the Holy Grail and said he was not responsible for the Singularity.
  • The group left the pyramid with the Holy Grail, and Mayuri privately regretted missing the chance to use her anti-pharaoh Noble Phantasm on Ozymandias.

Ch. 164Summoned Once Again

Origami Tobiichi was summoned in a normal Spirit form that concealed the power of her Inverse Form. Tiné Chelc severed the summoner’s hand and asked Origami to accept her as a replacement Master, and Origami agreed.

  • A mage used the pure white feather to summon Origami Tobiichi, who appeared in her Astral Dress: Number One.
  • Origami discovered that she lacked the power of Metatron and instead sensed the power of her Inverse Form within her.
  • Tiné Chelc emerged from the cave’s shadows and severed the mage’s hand, taking the hand bearing his Command Spells.
  • Tiné introduced herself and asked to contract with Origami in place of the mage, offering her clan’s submission.
  • Tiné explained that the feather belonged to her clan and that the mage had obtained it through underground channels; Origami nodded in agreement.

Ch. 165Night zero, the curtain rises

Tiné took over the Servant contract from the middle-aged mage, then killed him when he attempted a sneak attack. Origami agreed to help Tiné and her people win the Holy Grail War, and they left the cavern as False Archer descended upon Snowfield City.

  • Tiné received the Command Spells and the right to summon the Servant from the middle-aged mage.
  • The middle-aged mage tried to attack Tiné, but she burned him to death with a spell fueled by the leyline.
  • Tiné introduced herself and learned that Origami was in Snowfield City in 2014.
  • Tiné explained that her people had been forced into the Holy Grail War after their sacred grounds and relics were taken.
  • Origami agreed to help Tiné win the Holy Grail War and left the cavern with her.
  • Origami and Tiné emerged to find hundreds of Tiné's people kneeling outside as False Archer descended upon Snowfield City.

Ch. 166A gathering of radishes

The remaining False Servants were summoned across Snowfield City, including Enkidu, Pale Rider, Gilgamesh, Assassin, and Jack the Ripper. Enkidu and Gilgamesh reunited in the desert and began a full-force battle.

  • Enkidu was summoned by a wounded silver wolf chimera and accepted it as his Master.
  • Tsubaki Kuruoka welcomed Pale Rider into her mental world through her wish for company.
  • Orlando Reeve summoned Gilgamesh as Caster, while Gilgamesh dismissed his concerns about the war.
  • Assassin killed Jester Karture immediately after he summoned her, and Flat Escardos accidentally summoned Jack the Ripper as Berserker.
  • Enkidu and Gilgamesh sensed each other, met in the desert, and prepared to fight with Ea and Enkidu's golden chains.

Ch. 167Intervening in the Battle

Gilgamesh and Enkidu fought an escalating battle in the desert, shaking Snowfield City and forcing its officials to suppress the residents’ panic. Origami Tobiichi attacked them from the sky, interrupting the fight and drawing their attention.

  • Gilgamesh and Enkidu exchanged torrents of weapons for ten minutes, causing explosions that shook Snowfield City.
  • Faldeus’s hypnotic magecraft put the city’s awakened residents back to sleep while Orlando and Faldeus struggled to contain the battle.
  • Orlando tried to order Gilgamesh to stop, but Gilgamesh rejected his warning and cut off their communication.
  • Origami watched the battle from above without Tiné, then fired ten beams at Gilgamesh and Enkidu.
  • Gilgamesh dodged the beams and Enkidu turned to mud to evade them, then both looked up at Origami.

Ch. 168Joining Forces

Origami attacked Gilgamesh and Enkidu, whose divine nature left them unable to harm her with their usual weapons. She unleashed a devastating bombardment that forced them underground, while the Twenty-Eight-Member Monster watched the battle from Snowfield City.

  • Gilgamesh used Sha Naqba Imuru and Clairvoyance EX on Origami but could learn nothing about her or her future.
  • Gilgamesh and Enkidu attacked Origami with the Gate of Babylon and the Chains of Heaven, but Atheism negated their attacks.
  • Origami unleashed Shemesh, raining dark projectiles over the desert and shattering the pair’s defenses.
  • Enkidu regenerated an arm after a projectile severed it, then pulled Gilgamesh underground to escape the bombardment.
  • Origami stopped Shemesh after fifteen seconds and found that Gilgamesh and Enkidu had survived underground.
  • Vera Levitt and the Twenty-Eight-Member Monster watched the desert bombardment on a satellite thermal feed from the Snowfield City police station.

Ch. 169The strongest vs. the strongest

Origami overpowered Gilgamesh and Enkidu in the desert, destroying Gilgamesh’s ultimate weapon with her Metatron: Crown Cannon while shielding Snowfield City from the blast. The battle left Gilgamesh exhausted and Enkidu doubting they could defeat her, as Francesca watched the clash with delight.

  • Orlando Reeve asked who had summoned the white-haired Servant, and Francesca Prelati identified her Master as Tiné Chelc.
  • Gilgamesh told Enkidu to hold Origami off for ten seconds while he prepared a powerful weapon from the Gate of Babylon.
  • Enkidu tried to delay Origami with the Chains of Heaven as Gilgamesh summoned Marduk’s Great Bow and fired the Primordial Arrowhead That Cleaves Creation.
  • Origami lowered herself to protect Snowfield City and fired Metatron: Crown Cannon at the incoming arrow.
  • Origami’s beam shattered the arrow and the six gates, then shot through the atmosphere before fading in space.
  • Gilgamesh collapsed from the strain, Enkidu doubted they could win, and Francesca praised the battle as the satellite feed failed.

Ch. 170Tactical retreat

After Gilgamesh was forcibly recalled and Enkidu escaped by merging with the earth, Origami searched Snowfield for other Masters and Servants but found none. She returned to Tiné’s penthouse, set up defenses, and began the next morning with breakfast.

  • Gilgamesh vanished after his Master used a Command Spell, and Enkidu retreated by dissolving into the desert ground.
  • Origami flew back to Snowfield and searched almost the entire city, breaking through magecraft defenses but finding no Masters or Servants.
  • Origami returned to Tiné’s penthouse and arranged her wings of light around the building as a surveillance and defense net.
  • Origami slept in the bedroom with her Astral Dress still active, then woke and ate breakfast at seven fifteen.
  • Origami moved to the sofa, where an attendant brought her a glass of dark red liquid.

Ch. 171A brief moment of leisure

Origami relaxed with a glass of cola while Tiné praised her strength and vowed to reclaim her people's land. Across Snowfield City, mages and authorities reacted to the previous night's battle, and Origami told Tiné they would begin moving that night.

  • Origami enjoyed chilled cola and told Tiné that Gilgamesh and Enkidu had made the desert crater, while she had prevented Snowfield City from being destroyed.
  • Tiné praised Origami's power and privately resolved that their people would reclaim their land and repay seventy years of humiliation.
  • A Clock Tower mage reviewed the battle's magical readings, concluded the energy exceeded a Servant's level, and prepared to report it.
  • Authorities presented the desert devastation as a gas pipeline accident while mages across Snowfield City feared the power of the three Servants.
  • Origami finished her cola and told Tiné they would start moving that night.

Ch. 172Two Little Mice

Origami toured Snowfield City with Tiné, spotted two people with unusually strong magical energy, and decided to investigate them that night. After Origami’s gaze terrified him, Flat Escardos suspected she had caused the massive crater south of the city.

  • Origami and Tiné drove around Snowfield City, ate dessert, and had lunch at a busy barbecue restaurant.
  • Origami noticed a girl with glasses whose face seemed familiar and memorized her magical energy signature.
  • Origami spotted a blond young man near Central Park, judged him likely to be a Holy Grail War Master, and memorized his magical energy signature.
  • Origami asked Tiné to record both people so she could find them that night.
  • Flat Escardos fled to a deserted corner of Central Park and concluded that Origami was likely responsible for the crater south of Snowfield City.

Ch. 173The show began

Flat recognized the silver-haired girl as a threat and decided to lie low, while Origami watched a news report about Richard I and his companion being arrested for damaging the opera house. Curious, she flew to the police station and discovered officers wielding Noble Phantasms fighting a Dead Apostle as a priest watched nearby.

  • Flat told Jack the Ripper that he had met the eyes of a dangerously powerful silver-haired girl and decided to avoid going out until they understood her intentions.
  • Origami saw a news report showing Richard I apologizing for damaging the opera house and being escorted into custody alongside the girl with glasses.
  • Origami asked Tiné for the police station’s location, then flew there alone, leaving three wings of light to protect the penthouse.
  • Origami discovered more than twenty police officers wielding Noble Phantasms surrounding and attacking a Dead Apostle inside the station.
  • Origami noticed a priest in black watching the fight from the lobby and crouched on a rooftop to observe the strange scene.

Ch. 174The Dead Apostle's Exit

Jester Karture fled the police station after losing five Conceptual Cores, but Origami killed him with a bolt of light and demanded that the officers reveal where the blond knight and the arrested girl were being held. A young officer attacked her with an Original Noble Phantasm, and one of Origami’s wings blocked the blow.

  • Jester Karture survived the police officers’ coordinated attacks until the priest shattered his fifth Conceptual Core, forcing him to change bodies.
  • Jester Karture fled through the fire escape, but a bolt of light from Origami struck him and erased his body and sixth core.
  • Origami landed outside the police station and demanded to know where the blond knight and the girl with glasses were being held.
  • A young blond officer charged Origami with an Original Noble Phantasm, and one of her wings of light blocked his strike.

Ch. 175The Chief's Compromise

Origami confronted the Snowfield police, and Orlando Reeve agreed to let her see the prisoners after she promised not to attack anyone else. At the holding cell, she found the blond knight and the girl with glasses missing and suspected they had escaped during the Dead Apostle’s attack.

  • Origami punched a blond policeman through his blade and into a lobby wall, stopping the other officers from attacking.
  • Orlando Reeve ordered his officers to put away their weapons and agreed to let Origami see the prisoners if she left everyone else alone.
  • Origami met Hansa Cervantes, the Holy Church’s modified-human overseer, then followed a young policeman to the third-floor holding cells.
  • Origami found the cell empty and suspected the blond knight had escaped during the Dead Apostle’s attack.
  • Origami told the young policeman to ask Orlando whether he knew where the missing prisoners had gone.
