Background / History

Transmigration and the White Tiger Inheritance

Dai Fei was an international bounty hunter in his previous life. He transmigrated into the body of the Star Luo Empire’s second prince after the prince had been poisoned by his elder brother, Dai Weisi, and buried in the imperial mausoleum. Inheriting the prince’s memories and resentment, he promised to avenge him; the original owner’s lingering resentment then dissipated 1 6.

The Sacred Beast White Tiger of Huaxia chose him as its successor, transformed his Evil Eye White Tiger Martial Soul, and bestowed the Geng Metal Sacred Art. Dai Fei broke out of his coffin and killed the guards stationed to finish him off if he revived. Rather than immediately attack Dai Weisi, he withdrew to cultivate, knowing his brother had multiple Soul Saint and Soul Douluo protectors 1 2.

Battlefield Cultivation and Bounty Hunting

After acquiring his third ring, Dai Fei entered the battlefield at Xuantian City. He killed Heaven Dou soldiers and a Soul King general while sparing the Star Luo army, using the battlefield’s killing intent to strengthen himself. His unusual White Tiger Martial Soul attracted investigations from both empires and Spirit Hall 3 4 5 6.

To conceal his identity and obtain stronger sources of Slaughter Qi, he registered at Suotuo City’s Shadow Pavilion as Geng Metal. His targets included Black Fiend, the Crimson Flame Demon, and the information broker Dark Crow, who had discovered his true identity. Dai Fei eventually returned with eight Soul King heads and collected 400,000 Gold Soul Coins 6 11 12 13.

He rejected a Spirit Hall deacon’s recruitment offer, preferring independence. Before departing for Heaven Dou City, he confronted Dai Mubai and Ma Hongjun, defeated them, and revealed that he was alive. He declared his claim to the Star Luo throne and deliberately provoked Dai Mubai into cultivating harder so that his younger brother’s eventual Slaughter Qi would be more valuable 13 15.

Conflict with Baron Barlow

While traveling, Dai Fei protected a caravan in exchange for spirit herbs and later intervened when a noble youth whipped a mother and daughter. The youth’s father, Baron Adrian Barlow, retaliated by sending guards, Soul Masters, and the level-61 Soul Emperor Black Eagle after him 16 17 18 19.

Dai Fei killed Black Eagle, attacked the baron’s estate, and killed the baron, his son, and everyone remaining in the hall. The destruction of the household prompted a kingdom-wide manhunt in Balak, but Dai Fei had already departed toward Heaven Dou territory 20 21 22.

Sunset Forest and the Dragon Kings

In Sunset Forest, Dai Fei killed the Heavenly Fiend Tiger for his fifth ring, eliminated bandits attempting to steal the kill, and sought the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. He observed Dugu Bo’s movements and entered the valley while the Titled Douluo was away 23 24 25.

After refining two Immortal Herbs, he descended beneath the well and encountered the remnants of the Ice Dragon King and Fire Dragon King. Recognizing the Sacred Beast White Tiger’s power, they offered him their remains and remnant souls in exchange for a promise: if he became a god, he would create a path for Soul Beasts to ascend and survive 26 27.

He later killed the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger using his White Tiger techniques and the Dragon Kings’ Divine Bone Skill. Its Soul Ring made him a Soul Emperor, while its purified inner core subsequently raised him to level 66 and transferred its accumulated combat knowledge 30 31 34.

Skywater Academy

Dai Fei rescued Su Yao from an Evil Soul Master and accompanied her to Skywater Academy, keeping his imperial origins secret. He stayed to spar with the academy team and provide individualized cultivation guidance, helping Shui Bing’er approach Ultimate Ice and improving Xue Wu’s Soul Skills 34 36 38.

He accepted the affection of Shui Bing’er, Shui Yue’er, Su Yao, and other women at the academy. He also intended to nurture them into the first core group supporting his future unification of the continent. Although the dean offered him a guest-elder position, he declined to remain permanently and promised to visit 39.

Blue Silver Emperor Bone and the Ancient Ruins

Dai Fei traveled to Holy Soul Village in search of the Blue Silver Emperor’s right leg bone. After obtaining it, he evaded Tang Hao and absorbed it in a hidden cave. The Blue Silver Emperor’s will entrusted its power to him after he expressed a desire to protect others 40 42 43.

He then killed the 80,000-year Dark Gold Dreadclaw Tiger and absorbed its ring, becoming a level-74 seven-ring Soul Saint. While accompanying Lin Xuan into ancient ruins, he destroyed a dragon-shaped stone statue and obtained a golden Soul Bone. A black-robed group attempted to seize it, but Dai Fei killed the attackers, including their level-71 Soul Saint leader 44 45 46 48 49.

The golden bone proved to be 100,000 years old and transformed into his Sacred Beast White Tiger right arm armor. With this additional strength, Dai Fei renewed his resolve to confront Dai Weisi 50.

Appearance

• Youthful appearance: Initially appears unremarkable to the caravan bandits, though Su Yao later admires his handsome looks 16 36.

Personality

Dai Fei is vengeful, ambitious, and willing to cultivate through mass killing. He treats many opponents as sources of Slaughter Qi, kills Dark Crow to protect his identity, and spares Dai Mubai partly to make him a more valuable future target. His ambitions extend beyond revenge and the Star Luo throne to unifying the continent 3 12 15 39.

His aggression is tempered by calculation. He postpones attacking Dai Weisi because of his powerful protectors, changes identities when his activities attract attention, and avoids unnecessary confrontations with Dugu Bo and Tang Hao 2 6 25 31 42.

He also intervenes against abuse, rescuing civilians from a violent noble and saving Su Yao from an Evil Soul Master. At Skywater Academy, he patiently identifies students’ shortcomings and offers tailored guidance; with the women whose affection he accepts, he is openly gentle and reassuring 17 34 38 39.

His mutated Martial Soul possesses a sacred, murderous presence far beyond the Dai family’s ordinary Evil Eye White Tiger. Its tiger shape is a manifestation of a naturally sacred spirit, not simply a member of the white tiger clan 1.
