Choosing Her Father

Lu Zixuan grows up in the Immortal Ruins with her parents, younger brother Lu Zhengran, and younger sister Lu Miaomiao. Before the divorce, Xu Qingying privately asks which parent she would choose if the marriage ended. Troubled by the question, Zixuan eventually tells Lu Qing'an and asks whether her parents have fought 1.

After Xu Qingying publicly requests a divorce, Lin Qingxue offers Zixuan a treasured sword and promises that her mother's resources can help her become an emperor. Instead of accepting the weapon, Zixuan approaches her mother, kneels, and kowtows three times before choosing to leave with her father. She rejects Lin Qingxue's claim that this choice will ruin her cultivation prospects, declaring that she can reach the Emperor Realm through her own efforts 3 4.

Her brother's immediate acceptance of a treasured saber particularly angers her. She believes Lu Qing'an's strictness concealed genuine pride and affection, while their mother spent much of her time cultivating. When Zhengran tries to persuade her to stay, she threatens to stop recognizing him as her brother if he continues 4.

Entering the Demon Domain

Zixuan and Miaomiao accompany Lu Qing'an into the Demon Domain after he reveals his peak Great Emperor Realm cultivation. At his hidden treasure vault, he offers Zixuan his former sword, the Nine Hells Immortal-Slaying Sword. She initially refuses because she considers herself unworthy, but accepts after he encourages her ambition to become a Great Emperor 4 6 7.

In Demon Descent City, Zixuan intervenes when a sixth assailant ambushes a woman already fighting five men. Her Spiritual Qi exposes her Immortal Ruins origins, and nearby cultivators join the attack to seize her sword. With Lu Qing'an preventing stronger enemies from interfering or the attackers from escaping, Zixuan and the woman kill the combatants together 8 9.

The woman, Sun Minzi, subsequently joins the household and becomes Zixuan's friend and guide to the Demon Domain. Through Xiao Qingyi and Minzi, Zixuan learns that her father is the renowned Eternal Night Demon Emperor 11 12.

Building a New Life

Finding a suitable cultivation method becomes essential because Zixuan's Immortal Ruins techniques depend on Spiritual Qi rather than Demonic Qi. Xiao Qingyi's technique proves imperfectly compatible, but Xue Tianfei supplies one that suits her completely. Lu Qing'an then converts her existing power and raises her cultivation by a major realm 6 14 17 18.

Familiar visitors help her adjust to her new home. She eagerly welcomes He Hong and Xu Yunyi, later showing her aunt both her transformed cultivation and her divine sword. During a transmission from Xu Qingying, however, she refuses to speak to her mother and only breaks her silence to challenge Zhengran's boasts about his progress. She keeps, but does not immediately view, the recorded message her mother sends through Xu Yunyi 19 21 22 23.

Zixuan later joins the expedition to the Heavenfall Demon Cavern for protected body tempering. When Luo Danhong offers to teach Xu Yunyi, Zixuan urges her aunt to wait for Lu Qing'an before deciding. She subsequently welcomes Xu Yunyi's decision to remain permanently with the family in the Demon Domain 25 26 30 40.

After learning about Sun Minzi's loneliness and grief over her deceased father, Zixuan listens to her and comforts her until she falls asleep. She then asks Lu Qing'an to take Minzi as his goddaughter. He agrees, noting that he has already been treating Minzi as a daughter 89. Zixuan later describes Minzi to Zhengran as a close friend whom their father has adopted 101.

Demon Willow Academy

Zixuan enrolls at Demon Willow Academy and attends lessons with Sun Minzi and Xu Yunyi. Lu Qing'an introduces them to the Time-Reversing Demon Willow, whose highest cultivation rooms provide a one-to-three-hundred time ratio. He advises the three older girls to attend morning classes and cultivate there afterward, with Xu Yunyi establishing a teleportation array for their travel 56 57 59.

Her new opportunities fuel further arguments with Zhengran, who boasts about Green Mountain Academy's one-to-thirty cultivation rooms. Zixuan tells him that she has advanced three minor realms within Body Integration, but he dismisses her account as a lie and proposes comparing their cultivation in two months 59.

At home, Zixuan meets Lu Qing'an's disciple Li Cangxuan, whom she addresses as Brother Xuan. He becomes another source of cultivation guidance and helps her master the Murong Household's Magnificence Swordsmanship. Lu Qing'an subsequently improves her understanding of the technique and helps her develop an intent that greatly increases its power 65 75 76.

Zixuan and Minzi also become close friends with Murong Hua, who gives them the sword technique. Her rapid mastery and refined demonstration astonish instructor Murong Shan and their classmates. Although Zhang Ya and her companions initially doubt her claims, Zixuan invites the group home, where they encounter the powerful experts surrounding her family 66 77 79 80 81.

At her father's instruction, she initially conceals his identity at the academy because surviving relatives of his enemies might target her. During the visit, Lu Qing'an briefly pretends to be Demon Emperor Dugu before Li Cangxuan's arrival reveals the distinction between master and disciple. Zixuan introduces Li Cangxuan as the elder brother who taught her swordsmanship, while her friends learn that her father is the Eternal Night Demon Emperor 78 85 87.

Soul Cultivation and the Guo Brothers' Challenges

The household's soul-nourishing formation reveals Zixuan's exceptional aptitude when she forms an Ice Soul Soul Crystal. Lu Qing'an gives her additional soul techniques, and she discovers that extreme cold strengthens the crystal. Xue Tianfei creates an ice chamber for her cultivation and arranges to search for cold-space treasures that could serve the same purpose 112 120.

Further strengthening follows through the awakening of her Dragon Blood Physique, another major-realm cultivation transfer from Lu Qing'an, and the Ancestral Spirit Blessing Stele's gift of Spirit Soldier Retinue 167 180 203.

After Zixuan, Minzi, and Murong Hua enter the academy's top ten, Guo Zhipeng confronts Zixuan in class and calls her his future sister-in-law because his elder brother likes her. Disgusted, she refuses his proposed wager and challenges him directly. Despite his Late Tribulation Transcendence Realm cultivation, she defeats him with a soul attack followed by Magnificence Swordsmanship 211 212 213.

Guo Yanbin then intervenes and agrees to suppress his Fifth Layer Saint King Realm cultivation to Zixuan's Peak Mahayana Realm. She strikes with her strongest soul attack, Dragon Blood Physique, and sword technique. The ensuing battle escalates beyond their equal-realm arrangement: her four spirit soldiers help her pressure him at his full cultivation, and she uses the contest to sharpen her coordination and combat skills 213 214 215.

When Guo Yanbin destroys her soldiers with a powerful Law Treasure, Zixuan brings out the Cold Crystal Forbidden Land rather than continue using him for practice. In the aftermath, she regards herself as having effectively defeated him and become the number-one advanced student. Zhou Xiachen publicly calling her Martial Aunt also draws unwanted attention to her background 215 216. Her first-place ranking is later confirmed when Zhengran visits the academy and sees both Guo brothers kneel to beg her forgiveness 256.

Reconciliation with Lu Zhengran

Zhengran's visit finally exposes the truth of Zixuan's cultivation claims. Their reunion remains combative, and Zixuan defeats him with six spirit soldiers during a family spar. She then wagers her armor that he cannot defeat Miaomiao, requiring him to address her as “Your Majesty the Queen” if he loses 256 258 260.

When Zhengran subsequently approaches a collapse of his Dao heart, Zixuan urgently calls him back to his senses. She reminds him that she protected him in childhood and that he once promised to protect her when he grew up. With his sisters' help, his Dao heart stabilizes, and Lu Qing'an tells Zixuan to stop bullying him and help him consolidate his foundation in the Eye of the Yellow Springs. She agrees to forgive him, though she retains her teasing manner 262 263.

Their restored closeness does not end their bickering. Zhengran later addresses her as “Your Majesty” when asking for help approaching the Saber God. When he decides to return to Green Mountain Academy because of their mother, Zixuan is visibly unhappy, initially refuses to answer him, but ultimately appears with Miaomiao to wave goodbye 280 293. She reunites with him again when he returns to live at home permanently 377.

Yin Realm Academy

While traveling with Zhengran, Minzi, and Miaomiao, Zixuan befriends Bai Jingjing and invites her to accompany them to the entrance assessment for two academies. Bai Jingjing notices that Zixuan has an elder-sister-like influence within the group and suspects that her abilities are especially unusual 477 486.

The assessment identifies Zixuan as a sixteen-year-old Middle Profound Heaven Emperor Realm cultivator. Her Soul Hall Emperor Position initially draws mockery as an ordinary Emperor Position, but she immobilizes the liquid puppet with a slight narrowing of her eyes and obtains the result needed to join Yin Realm Academy 486.

After joining, Zixuan and her companions rapidly challenge their way up the rankings. Chen Hong attempts to counter her with a borrowed soul-defense treasure and five Shadow War Gods, prompting Zixuan to reveal twenty spirit soldiers and the Soul Hall's ability to transform them into stronger armored warriors 489 490 491.

Zixuan subsequently challenges Bai Yingying and overwhelms her with more than a thousand spirit weapons. The protective formation intervenes and declares Zixuan the winner, raising her to first place. Her companions then challenge Bai Yingying in succession 494 495.

Later Family and Cultivation Developments

When Qiao Yuqin asks the sisters to give Xu Qingying a chance to make amends, Zixuan acknowledges that she cannot stop caring about her mother. Seeing Xu Qingying disheveled and lonely has already dissipated much of her anger. She offers forgiveness on the condition that Xu Qingying stop interfering with Lu Qing'an and Xue Tianfei's relationship; Miaomiao supports her position. Xu Qingying nevertheless says that she still wishes to pursue reconciliation with Lu Qing'an 554.

Over nearly a year, Zixuan and the other children spend much of their time gaining experience on the Five Lakes Continent rather than attending the academy on the Eternal Night Continent. With a steady supply of Heavenly Mandate Soul Stones, Zixuan reaches Early Reincarnation cultivation and Creation Realm soul strength. Lu Qing'an identifies continued soul development, improvement of her Emperor Position, and stronger personal defenses as the priorities for her future growth 629.

A later encounter with Pan Hao shows that powerful peers can still defeat her individually. Rather than discouraging her, the setback strengthens her determination to improve. After Xue Tianfei wins the Time Cultivation Tower at auction, Lu Qing'an lets the children experience its accelerated time and encourages them to cultivate until they no longer need to join forces against their rivals 732 735.

During the wedding festivities for Lu Qing'an and Xue Tianfei, Zixuan helps Miaomiao and Minzi block the doorway to the bride's room. She refuses Zhengran's and Murong Hua's attempts to persuade her to move, but Xu Xuanyu wins her over by offering a Pill Furnace that can strengthen the combined use of her Spirit Soldier Retinue and Emperor Position 754.

Lu Qing'an later identifies the supreme-grade saint-level Zhou Heaven Star Chart as a suitable treasure for Zixuan because it can temper both Law Power and the soul 769.

At the final family reunion, Zixuan's eyes redden when she sees Lu Qing'an return. She runs to embrace him and, when he teases her for acting this way despite being grown up, insists that she is just as entitled to hug him as Miaomiao 822.

Personality

Zixuan places affection and loyalty above promised cultivation resources. Her decision to follow Lu Qing'an rests on years of observing his care for the family, not on knowledge of his hidden strength. She remains proud of her own potential and refuses to accept that leaving her mother's household means abandoning the Emperor Realm 3 4.

She is protective and compassionate without being indiscriminately reckless. Before helping Sun Minzi, she worries that intervening will expose her origins and create trouble for her father. Once she commits, she fights decisively. She also comforts Miaomiao at night, offering to hold her while she sleeps and promising that they will eventually visit their mother together 8 13.

Her anger toward her mother and brother coexists with unresolved attachment. Although she refuses Xu Qingying's transmission, she does not destroy the recorded message sent afterward. Her plan to return upon reaching the Great Emperor Realm is also a determination to prove that her mother's judgment was wrong 13 23.

Zixuan has a pronounced preference for order, symmetry, and completeness. She avoids the joints between floor tiles, asks Xiao Qingyi to make a lightning sphere perfectly round before transmitting his technique, and maintains an exceptionally clean, tidy room 1 14 17.

Her compassion can override her aversion to dirt and disorder. When Minzi cries on her shoulder, she does not push her away despite the tears, instead listening patiently and later asking her father to adopt her friend 89.

She distinguishes genuine friendship from social advantage. Although she forgives classmates who offended her, she remains cautious about treating them as confidants. She warns Zhengran to consider whether his new companions truly care about him or are approaching him for their own purposes 98 101.

Her rivalry with Zhengran is sharp-tongued but not devoid of affection. She restrains herself from revealing too much when Xu Yunyi warns that it could damage his Dao heart, later helps save him from an actual collapse, and accepts reconciliation despite continuing to tease him 59 262 263.

Zixuan is competitive and responds to strong opponents with a desire to improve. She uses Guo Yanbin as an opportunity to refine her combat coordination, while her initial disadvantage against Pan Hao only strengthens her determination to surpass him 215 732.

Her feelings toward Xu Qingying eventually soften, but she does not equate forgiving her mother with restoring her parents' marriage. She explicitly makes forgiveness conditional on respecting Lu Qing'an's relationship with Xue Tianfei 554.
