Shen Ge fought the Heavenly Punishment with help from Li Xue’s formation and Bai Lili’s Samsara Qi, but his Yin-Yang Great Millstone collapsed under the lightning. He summoned three ancient Demon Beasts from stone pages, leaving a Body Integration Realm expert shocked by their identities and the pages’ possible origin.
Shen Ge used six black vortices to absorb the Heavenly Punishment’s lightning, while Bai Lili struggled against the lightning filling her ghost domain. After locating Bai Lili, Shen Ge vanished toward the Lightning Origin, drawing the attention of onlooking experts who suspected a connection to Venerable Reincarnation.
After surviving the heavenly punishment, Shen Ge and Bai Lili merged, and Bai Lili discovered that Shen Ge came from another world. Shen Ge awakened with new control over the ghost domain as a mysterious figure declared that he had found the Lord of Reincarnation.
Shen Ge faced Venerable Reincarnation, whose clone trapped his own, and learned that the powerful stranger carried an elusive hostility resembling the Heavenly Dao. Unable to settle their conflict by force, Shen Ge proposed a ten-thousand-year contest between their clones, which Venerable Reincarnation accepted.
Shen Ge sent ten thousand soul fragments into the world to grow stronger, hoping to use them to break through to Tribulation Transcendence, and began a ten-thousand-year wager with Venerable Reincarnation. As their fragments scattered, the wager began, while a man in Azure Origin Palace sensed that the cultivation world’s future had changed.
A young man who returned from the dead terrorized East Forest Village before a woman in white killed him, while a wealthy merchant’s son was born after a breeze seemed to turn a difficult labor around. The merchant named the child Shen Tianci, believing the heavens had spared him.
Shen Ge and Bai Lili traveled to White Dragon City, where the Dao Repository Academy recognized Shen Ge as the new master of its divine sword, Southern Splendor. Bai Shu approached them as Shen Ge revealed the sword, leaving its reception—and the surrounding cultivators’ interest—in question.
Shen Ge traded the Southern Splendor Sword for five years of access to the Dao Repository Academy's Scripture Pavilion, where he and Bai Lili studied rare cultivation methods. After another five years passed, Bai Lili neared the Body Integration Realm, and Shen Ge finished his contemplation and prepared to leave.
Shen Ge and Bai Lili entered the Void Star Hall, where Shen Ge fought a three-headed lion and completed a new sword technique. He then summoned the Samsara Qi for a decisive attack as the battle continued.
Shen Ge and Bai Lili continued their cultivation and returned to Moon-Supporting City, where Shen Ge encountered one of his separated soul fragments living as a child. Elsewhere, Zhang Fengge’s lifespan ended, and she bade farewell to Su Sui and Lu Xiu before vanishing.
Shen Linfeng and Shen Ge bade farewell to someone in the Earth Marsh region as they turned their attention southwest. On the Vast Grassland, Hei Li killed Blood Lady, but her storage ring trapped him in a formation filled with vengeful souls, and an old ghost later searched the blasted battlefield to confirm Hei Li’s fate.
Yueyin taught Shen Tianci how to survive deadly conflicts by studying a story about a cultivator ambushed by five opponents. She left him with advice to use every resource immediately and consider begging for mercy when cornered.
Shen Ge recognized Bai Yu and Xie Fan when they entered his mountain ghost domain, then exposed their sinister Qi and destroyed their clones. The siblings escaped by detonating their bodies, and Xie Fan planned to involve the Dao Repository Academy in taking on Shen Ge.
Xie Fan and Bai Yu recovered from their injuries, accepted that the Dao Repository Academy was protecting the ghost domain, and set off for Azure Province to investigate a rumor that an Azure Origin Palace senior was about to become an immortal. Meanwhile, Su Liuyue escaped after killing a powerful Demon Beast, while Mo Qingyu fled from Mo Teng and two other Devil Cultivators in the Void Star Hall.
Shen Ge and his companion faced a powerful Body Integration Realm lightning tribulation in the Kuangqing Mountain Range, drawing the attention of Bai Shu and other cultivators. Their strange presence reminded Gongsun Liyuan of Venerable Reincarnation as the next strike began.
Venerable White Dragon observed Shen Ge and his companion’s small world during their three-day lightning tribulation and recognized signs of Samsara. After the tribulation, he protected the surviving pair from Gongsun Liyuan and the other Body Integration Realm experts, who wanted to seize their world.
In Azure Origin City, cultivators discussed whether unexplained hostility between strangers could come from past lives or from powerful experts’ clones. Huang Yi was shaken by the possibility that he was a clone, while Ye Xingchen advised him to have a Body Integration Realm expert examine his soul.
Venerable Reincarnation Qin Busi and Demon Emperor Feng Jiutian learned that Hai of the Azure Origin Palace was nearing ascension, and Feng Jiutian sent Qingxia to attend his ceremony. Feng Jiutian then met Qin Busi, who revealed he was delaying his own ascension until he settled a wager, while she expected to face her tribulation within five thousand years.
One year after Venerable Hai ascended, Shen Ge and Bai Lili traveled as avatars to the Netherworld Domain to establish separate factions. Their arrival drew the attention of Sun Yu, an avatar of Venerable Reincarnation, and Lan Yu attacked him on Shen Ge’s behalf, but he survived and fled.
Shen Ge created Ghost Gate Pass on Yin Mountain and formed the Heaven and Earth Millstone to establish Samsara in the Netherworld. A powerful cyan-robed Daoist subdued the Heavenly Dao, which surrendered its authority over Samsara, and Shen Ge’s followers were tasked with guarding it for a hundred thousand years.
