• Shen Ge opened the ghost gate and dragged the leader of the three cultivators inside, then fled as the heavens’ change unsettled powerful figures across the realm.
• Shen Ge entered the Thunderfire Secret Realm, collected jade, defeated and outmaneuvered rival cultivators, and claimed the Lightning Origin with Li Xue’s help.
• Li Xue confessed her feelings to Shen Ge, and he declined her while sharing the Lightning Origin and learning that Bai Lili was being hunted in the Bright Moon Region.
• Shen Ge placed seventeenth in the trial, exchanged most of his points for the Record of Exotic Beasts and a Phoenix tail feather, and chose to remain in Azure Origin City to cultivate.
• Ao Xi pursued a boat after entrusting the Mermaid Race to Han Yu, while Lü Yang helped Su Sui, Lu Xiu, and Zhang Fengge escape Ten Thousand Insect Valley’s pursuit.
• Mo Qingyu survived her Spirit Severing tribulation, while Mo Shang exposed Hai Shou’s crimes and fled from the Hai Household.
• Thirty years later, Shen Ge began his lightning tribulation, endured its wind and earth trials, and entered Ghost Gate Pass to battle a lightning dragon.
• Shen Ge sent sword light and chains against the dragon’s tail, but three chains snapped and he spat golden blood as he prepared to risk his life.

Shen Ge avenged Ziyang by killing Xuanguang, then pursued a way to find Mu Wan and restore her through the Underworld and Samsara. After centuries apart, he joined forces with Bai Lili to create an underworld, but their emergence brought Heavenly Punishment and activated Li Xue’s hidden formation.

• Shen Ge defeated Xuanguang after the battle at the Myriad Stars Sect, and Su Liuyue gave him Mu Wan’s extinguished soul lamp.
• Shen Ge met Bai Wushuang, learned about the Netherworld, and received a map and protective talismans before setting out to visit Lü Yang.
• Shen Ge rescued Lü Yang, Lu Xiu, Su Sui, and Zhang Fengge from attackers, then traveled to the Yellow Wind Sands and met the ghost-path senior Lan Yu.
• Shen Ge entered the Underworld with Zhu Xiu and learned from Weiyang’s stele that souls returned to heaven and earth to be remade through samsara, shattering his hope of finding Mu Wan there.
• As the Eight Domains war unfolded, Shen Ge returned to battle with Li Xue, Su Liuyue, and Mo Qingyu, then advanced to the Spirit Severing Middle Stage.
• Su Liuyue, Mo Qingyu, and Shen Linfeng found Shen Ge in the Ghost Gate Pass realm, but Shen Ge insisted on continuing his attempt to restore Samsara and find Mu Wan.
• Bai Lili joined Shen Ge’s effort to create an underworld and accelerated the secret realm’s transformation with her Samsara Qi.
• Three months later, Shen Ge and Bai Lili emerged to face attacking cultivators, and Heavenly Punishment struck as Li Xue’s hidden formation activated beneath Shen Ge.
