Drunk (Part Two)
Seriously?! Even Kakashi can't hold his liquor?!
Koki's gaze fell on Fugaku, where she saw that he and Sakumo were both quite drunk, their cheeks flushed, and satisfied smiles on their lips as they talked. Even Mikoto raised her glass to join them.
A loud bang shattered the tranquility of the night, startling even Koki.
He looked up and saw that Obito had stumbled and fallen to the ground, where he was laughing loudly.
This startled Koki quite a bit. He and Mikoto, the two people who were still relatively clear-headed on the field, tried to stand up and help Obito up.
Who knew that Shisui, who was still holding him, sensed that he wanted to leave, hugged his waist tightly, raised her head, and her big eyes were filled with grievance, as if Koki wanting to leave was some heinous crime.
Well... fine, with no other choice, Koki had to give up. Watching Mikoto Obito up, he felt a little relieved.
Shisui got her wish and quietly nestled back on Koki's shoulder.
With Mikoto's help, Obito staggered back to his seat. He sat there silently, staring blankly ahead as if deep in thought. His eyes revealed a sense of confusion and helplessness. Then he would chuckle foolishly. Seeing Obito like this, Koki couldn't help but feel a pang of heartache.
So why are these people drinking?! Although their drinking manners are better than his, the three of them are clearly not good drinkers. Koki was hugged by Shisui, her little face full of confusion.
After a while, Fugaku and Sakumo, under the influence of alcohol, were in high spirits. They said they wanted to go to the room to play chess, and they helped each other up, swaying as they walked towards the bedroom.
During this time, when Sakumo passed by Koki and his group, he couldn't help but cast a worried glance at them, but was forcibly pulled away by Fugaku.
Koki at Fugaku and Sakumo's unsteady figures, Mitsuki felt a little worried. They were both quite drunk and needed someone to take care of them. "Mom, why don't you go take care of Dad?"
Mikoto and Koki were of one mind; she thought the same thing. However, glancing at the remaining children— Shisui half-lying on Koki, Kakashi with vacant eyes, Obito grinning foolishly—she hesitated before asking, "Are you all alright?"
"It's alright, I'll help them into their rooms and settle them in later." Koki smiled, not wanting Mikoto to worry.
"Alright then, feel free to call me anytime if you need anything." Mikoto said this, then got up and left to catch up with the two people ahead.
"Honey, slow down, don't fall," Mikoto said with concern.
Fugaku glanced back at Mikoto, smiled, and reassured her, "Don't worry, Mikoto, we're alright."
However, their pace didn't slow down much; they continued to walk forward unsteadily. Mikoto had to support Fugaku to try and steady them.
Koki watched the three of them disappear at the end of the corridor before turning her gaze away.
There were three people left. Koki shook her head, sighed resignedly, and decided to send them back to their respective rooms first.
"One at a time," said Shisui, who was already quite drunk and barely conscious. Koki lifted his face and gently patted him. "Shisui, wake up. Let's go back to our room and sleep some more."
Shisui rubbed his eyes, opened them, his gaze still a little unfocused. He looked at Koki and forced a smile, "Okay, let's go back to our room."
After saying that, he struggled to get up from the ground, almost falling over. Koki quickly supported him and carefully helped him maintain his balance.
Koki tried to help him stand up, but Shisui's body was as limp as if it had no bones, almost collapsing. Koki had to use her small body to support him, afraid that he would fall and get hurt.
They staggered out of the living room, Koki hurriedly said, "Kakashi, Obito-nii, wait here for a moment, I'll come back and take you." It's unclear whether they heard him, but they didn't react at all.
Fortunately, Shisui's room was on the first floor. Soon, they arrived at the door. Koki opened the door, and they staggered Earth Flow the room. Koki carefully placed Shisui on the bed.
Shisui immediately turned over, hugging his pillow tightly, muttering some unintelligible words. Koki looked at him, feeling a pang of helplessness and heartache.
He gently patted Shisui's shoulder, trying to calm him down. "Shisui, you should rest first. I'll stay here with you."
Shisui seemed to have heard what Koki said; he nodded slightly and then fell silent.
Koki settling Shisui on the bed, Guangxi looked around, feeling both curious and surprised about Shisui's bedroom. This was the first time he had the opportunity to take a close look at Shisui's bedroom.
Shisui's room was furnished with unusual simplicity, without much decoration, only a few scrolls and some ninja tools neatly arranged.
Several barely recognizable portraits hung on the bedroom walls, and brushes, ink, paper, and inkstones were laid out on the table, clearly for practicing calligraphy or painting.
Koki casually flipped through the papers and was surprised to find several sheets covered with her own name. What was Shisui doing? Was he practicing calligraphy with her name?
He put down the paper, walked to the bookshelf, took down a scroll, and gently unfolded it to read. He found that these scrolls recorded various Ninjutsu and insights, and the handwriting was neat, clearly written by Shisui with care.
What a genius! He even takes notes! And he's so dedicated.
He walked to the ninja tool shelf and looked at the huge number of sharp Shuriken and Kunai, with a small bow and arrow next to it.
Since coming to Koki's house, Shisui has never had to worry about ninja tools again, and now he has an endless supply of them.
Koki looked around the room, then walked to the window, drew back the curtains, and let the moonlight stream into the room. He looked back at Shisui and saw him lying quietly on the bed, seemingly asleep.
"Koki, Koki..." Shisui still called out Koki's name in his dream.
"Sigh." Koki walked to the bedside, sighed softly, and gazed at Shisui's sleeping face and slightly furrowed brows. He turned and went into the bathroom, took out a towel, put it in warm water, wrung it out gently, and then walked to the bedside to carefully wipe Shisui's face.
His movements were gentle and meticulous, trying not to disturb Shisui's rest. Gradually, Shisui's brows relaxed.
Under Koki's wiping, Shisui's blush faded, and his skin looked soft and smooth, still with a touch of childishness, as if it had never been affected by the elements.
Koki couldn't imagine that he would be caught in the middle between his family and the village, ultimately bleeding from the eyes and committing suicide by jumping into the river.
Koki had never seen him look so childish before, and couldn't help but reach out and gently pinch Shisui's cheek.
"Hahaha." Seeing Shisui's aggrieved expression as he covered his face, Koki laughed.
He carefully pulled the blanket up to Shisui from flowing, then walked out of the room, gently closed the door, stood outside, listened to the soft breathing coming from inside, and smiled.
"Shisui, goodnight and sweet dreams. May you live a happy and carefree life."
