Christopher's New Script
Carlotta felt a gust of wind blow over her head, ruffling her hair.
By the time she came to her senses, Kexi was already blocked at the other end of the hall.
Changli's sword was held to his left, Jinhsi's knife was held to his right, the two weapons crossing to form a deadly blockade.
"Don't get agitated! Sisters! Both of you! Calm down!" Kexi raised her hands, forcing a smile that looked more like a grimace. "Let's talk this out. Using knives and guns will only hurt our harmony!"
Changli remained silent, the firelight from Blazing Brilliance casting flickering shadows on half of her face.
Jinhsi remained silent, the golden light of Ages of Harvest illuminating Kexi's cold sweat clearly.
Just then, Luna rushed in with six maids from the Pleiades, all of them panting heavily.
"Young Master!" Luna spotted Kexi, who was being held at knifepoint, and cried out at the top of her lungs, "We've come to save you!"
Kexi's eyes lit up as if she had seen a savior. "Luna! Come save me! Didn't you say you would protect the young master to the death?! Quickly!"
Luna put her hands on her hips, took a deep breath, and shouted, "Pleiades —charge!"
Six maids rushed forward at the same time and restrained Jinhsi and Changli's hands, allowing Kexi to slip out.
He had just been moved for a moment when a very soft snap of fingers suddenly came from behind him.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
A row of playing cards that had been pasted under the tables throughout the hall were simultaneously detonated.
The entire hall seemed to have been blown off, with wood chips, wine, fruit pieces, and flower petals scattering in all directions.
Smoke billowed, screams erupted, and guests scattered in panic, the scene instantly spiraling out of control.
Kexi was so shocked that she stumbled back two steps.
He glanced back at the thick smoke filling the sky and mentally gave Luna a big thumbs up.
Goodness, I never expected Luna to have such a trick up her sleeve.
They actually used explosions to cover him.
Sister, this is going to cost you a lot of money, and Carlotta will probably kill you for it!
Kexi had no idea who was behind this.
"Luna! Well done!" he shouted at the top of his lungs, not caring whether Luna heard him or not, and turned to rush towards the side door.
Amidst the smoke and dust, Jinhsi was the first to react.
She waved her sleeve to clear the thick smoke, then pushed off with both feet and chased after Kexi.
Changli about to follow, a tall maid suddenly darted out from behind him.
"Changli, please stay."
With Scar voice, he placed one hand on Changli's shoulder with a force as strong as an iron clamp.
Changli turned her head and saw a maid who was over 1.8 meters tall giving her a somewhat embarrassed smile.
That smile, paired with that angular face and the ill-fitting maid's dress, looked utterly incongruous.
"Move aside." Changli frowned.
"I'm sorry, I can't." The hand with the Scar didn't loosen its grip.
They've prepared a huge surprise for Jinhsi, so they can't let Changli by so quickly.
Changli raised his hand, enveloping it in flames, and unleashed a punch.
Scar reacted quickly, throwing out two playing cards with his other hand.
The two men clashed amidst the smoke and dust filling the hall.
Kexi darted out of the side door and ran for an unknown distance before finally stopping to catch her breath.
"Damn... today was so exciting..."
He wiped the dust off his face and was about to continue running when suddenly his foot slipped.
The ground collapsed.
Before Kexi could even scream, she plummeted downwards as if flushed down a toilet.
The last thing I saw in my field of vision was a golden light, and then everything spun around me.
He landed in an unfamiliar gray-white space.
All around was swirling mist, and above, fragmented light and shadow swirled, like countless pages of a book turning simultaneously.
He recognized this place; it was similar to the alternate dimension that Phrolova had pulled him into yesterday.
But this time it felt completely different from that time.
Welcome to my script.
A voice that Kexi knew all too well drifted over from all directions, carrying that kind of calm that made one's teeth itch.
"Christopher, you son of a bitch, it's you again, you motherfucker—" Before Kexi could finish her curse, a light suddenly flashed in front of her.
The mist condensed, the light spots converged, and a human figure gradually solidified from the air.
Short black hair, a dark coat, and a roguish smile playing on his lips.
What's going on?
That person looked exactly like him.
The "Kexi" tilted his head, gave him the same smug smile he always had, and then turned and walked out of the mist.
"Damn it! You stop right there! That's my face!" Kexi lunged forward, but the moment her hand touched the fake's body, she was bounced back by a force and fell to the ground.
In the hallway outside.
Jinhsi caught up and immediately saw "Kexi" leaning against the wall, panting. His forehead was sweaty, his clothes were covered in dust, and his expression was both flustered and roguish, exactly like the real person.
"Kexi." Jinhsi steadied herself, the tip of her knife pointed at him. "You can't escape today."
Fake Kexi looked up, saw Jinhsi, and showed a helpless expression as if she had been forced into a corner.
"Jinhsi." His voice was exactly the same as Kexi's, with the exact same tone and pauses. "Let me explain."
Jinhsi did not sheath her sword, but her fingers loosened their grip on the hilt slightly.
Christopher, hiding in the shadows, watched this scene, and a slow smile crept onto his face.
The show is about to begin.
Then he should try to stall for time.
Fake Kexi leaned against the wall, his chest heaving, sweat still clinging to his forehead.
He raised his head and looked at Jinhsi with a helpless expression, as if he had been cornered.
"Jinhsi," he said breathlessly, "You've been chasing me for so long, aren't you tired?"
Jinhsi didn't sheath her knife, but her grip loosened slightly. "Stop trying to talk your way out of this."
"I wasn't just talking." The fake Kexi straightened up and took a step forward.
The knife tip was pressed against his chest, but he didn't stop.
He took another step, and the knife tip went even deeper, almost tearing his clothes.
He kept walking forward.
"Kexi, are you crazy?" Jinhsi withdrew her knife half an inch.
"Go ahead and poke me." Fake Kexi looked at her, a smile suddenly curving his lips. "If you poke it in, my heart will be yours. Anyway, I've wanted to give you my heart for a long time."
Jinhsi's hand paused.
The fake Kexi walked up to her, the tip of the knife pressed against his chest, but he reached out and gently pressed down Jinhsi's hand that was holding the knife.
Then he took a step forward and put his arms around her shoulders.
"Jinhsi, you look so beautiful today."
Jinhsi's body stiffened.
She was held in his arms, the knife hanging at her side, her whole body frozen in place.
It's been so long since anyone held her.
It's been so long since anyone called her that.
She knew perfectly well that this person was a liar and a fraud.
But her shoulders went limp for a moment.
In that very instant.
The fake Kexi pulled a long blade from her sleeve with her right hand and then thrust it into her back.
Jinhsi's pupils suddenly dilated.
The blade pierced through her back, leaving a cloud of blood.
Her lips parted, but no sound came out.
Her hand gripped the fake Kexi's arm, her nails digging into his sleeve.
She saw his face the moment she looked down.
A smile was still on his face.
But that smile was different from Kexi's; it was a sinister smile.
"You're not..." Jinhsi coughed up blood, unable to finish her sentence.
Fake Kexi released her grip and took a step back.
Jinhsi's body began to fall forward, straight down, Ages of Harvest slipped from her grasp, crashing to the ground with a thud.
